Can someone spoiler the story for me please.

I got to the point in

    Chicago?

(I think) where im jumping over cars in water. Then i had to give the PS3 back.

I just can't face having to play it all the way through.

Right...finally finished this today and have to say after a little slow start R2 just got better and better, highlights for me was the final boss fight with Deadalus and the fight with the big creature in the city(Cloverfield style),but what i realy liked the most was the pace of the game,it just never dropped and i lost count the amount of times i jumped and end up shouting "Oh **** what the hell is that"!!.

Brilliant stuff all round and a real engaging story as well, and i realy did feel that i was taking part in an Alien invasion with the constant sight of Massive Alien crafts floating above my head...so all in all if you have played and finished the first like me and a still a bit unsure of R2 then dont be cos its deffo much better than the first and just as pretty if not better and not forgetting the excellent if not sometimes over cramped multiplayer.

i know this game isnt for everyone but for me i realy enjoyed it..

Orly? Right, I'm gonna carry on with this tonight then (Socom form 9pm though!).

Well you can't say I didn't try. But I can't do it. This game is drivel of the highest order.

I'm up to Idaho and the games a total joke now. Not only am I facing off against enemies that sound like a Mr Blobby convention but I'm being subjected to some guy on the radio who the script writers thought would create atmosphere by having him blubbing on about canned peas.

Even the level designers seem to have given up the ghost. Those cacoon things are all over town in houses and streets and mutant people come out. You find one in a dog house. What comes out of it? A mutant dog you say? No just another human hybrid.

This game should be brilliant. It's got that whole 50's War of the Worlds vibe, it should be epic and thrilling. Instead it's so lazy I can't be bothered with it anymore.

yes, its bobbins, it just gets worse too, a bit after that you're just grating along screaming ENNDD ENNND pleasssse and then when it does (around 4 painful and prolonged hours later), you get a 1.5 second ending and a 20 minute credit roll.

            ****e

I finished the game last night. I'm lost for words really.

I don't feel comfortable to just call the game pants, but I feel tempted.

Deep down inbetween the design flaws and boring level design ocassionaly, now and then you get a glimpse of what the game could have been. I have to admit I really really enjoyed the last 2 hours, and hated the last 10 minutes. Felt very Halo and I feel it also looked magnificant. I was getting Metroid Prime and Halo flashbacks, and for whatever reason the whole thing felt great to me.

If the devs had reduced the levels by 40% and polished everything to the same degress as some of the better levels, you'd end up with a better product.

Looking back on my experience with Resistance 2 I can't help but feel like a teacher who has to mark someones homework. Imagine the case where you are given a huge stack of painstakingly written pages, nearly twice the amount of all the other kids, but we start reading them it dawns on you, the content isn't very good. How do you score the paper? Are you honest and give a 5/10, or out of guilt and in a way to encourage the hardworking student you maybe up the grade a tad to 6 or 7?

I'm afraid that as a whole I would have to stick to my principles, and whilst I did enjoy several sections of levels greatly, the overal package doesn't deserve more than a 5.

When I see such wild inconsistancies in design I find it hard to understand how the game QA process was run.

Dissapointing, but for those with a will of steel, I'd still suggest a play through.

                Reading this...

I started playing this a bit - maybe did 2 levels and then got distracted by better games.

Is there even any point in carrying on? Alternatively - does anyone know what the trade in price is like?

With SFIV, KZ2 and then RE5 it ain't gonna get a look in for some time.

I do think it's worth a playthrough for the Halo style finale levels.

The online coop didn't grab me, but for others it has been popular.

I absolutely loved this. Probably the best FPS I have played so-far this year.

Its so good. The pacing is perfect. I just loved it.

Don't want to type what is good about it..so 'whoever' can tear each paragraph to shreds.

The reason for this post is...If you're not sure..I highly recommend this! It is stunning.

                      Nope.

Trade it in for KZ2 or something.

Not really, its not a very good game, its unfair and often frustrating in how the game requires luck to survive the hoards of overpowered enemies that just charge at you like bulldozers.

besides the odd moments its not fun, and is nowhere near to being in the same league as Killzone 2.

Did you work on the game or something
I find it amazing that someone would recommend to spend money on this.

I'll finish this one day. One day when I'm bored to tears and have played every other game in my collection. Twice.

I took everyones advice and got rid (pre-emptively ) the other week. I was never going to finish it and there are just too many good games around at the moment, my time is worth more than this.

                                Lots of R2 hate.

I liked it personally, but then I like the premise and the universe that's been created, and that goes a long way for me. Certainly not as good as the first (Hopefully IG learn from this and forget the forced scale in R3) but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I also sunk a lot of time into the online co-op.
