Looks very pretty and plays ok. I've got two issues with the game.

1) The juddering on the main menu is horrible and gives me a headache.
2) The weighty controls of the player is somewhat at odds with the flimsy feel of the ps3 pad, making it feel a bit wierd.

Still enjoyed it overall and I'm sure I'll pick it up given its <£30 at shopto.

Not that I'm likely to ever play this, but I'm just curious - how does it hold up (as an experience) to the original CG video?

Definitely the best looking thing on the PS3, but I just wasn't feeling the gameplay, probably because there just wasn't enough of it. The controls will also takes so getting used to, the usual dual shock/fps story, I kept missing people too because I was over compensating when aiming. I don't think it was a particularly good demo, but I'm sure full game will be great.

guys am i the only 1 not blown away the graphics are good i know its a demo but it just looks as good as gears 2 (i have both) so no fanboy plus is there magic concrete in the helghast world cause when you shoot bullets into it the marks and holes disappear try it yourself and see WTF booted up gears 2 all holes stayed no matter what type of material
HAPPY GAMING !!!

Don't the KZ2 bullet holes deform the material, actually leave "3D" holes rather than the decals used in other games (including Gears2)? That would explain why they don't hang around too long.

A couple of comments that aiming is tricky. Is there much aim-assist? Something like L4D has a load, maybe this has very little?

I'm not getting this demo, don't want to have 15 minutes of fun then have to wait for the rest of it!

Doesn't seem to be much aim-assist but I could be wrong. I am surprised people are having trouble aiming/killing the Helghast, not that difficult to be honest. Sure I missed a few shots here and there but most of the time I shot exactly where I intended.

Played it a few times now and still love it

The aiming is tricky becuase the PS3 pad has crappy, and extreamly twitchy, analogue sticks and there dosent actualy seem to be much aim assist at all to be honest.

Anyway I really enjoyed this despite the twitchy aiming, even though I went through most of the control methods and still couldnt find one that i was perfectly comfertable with, but still, it plays well all the same and am looking forward too it all the more now.

Same problem in the first one.

I'm delighted by this demo. The graphics, animation, enemy AI, cover mechanic, feeling of weight / realism and the audio are probably the best I've ever experienced in a shooter. The sheer amount of animation in the game really brings it to life and the graphical effects are just stunning. Just like the first game it feels as though there is no aim assist at all. If you come to this from R2 you're in for a shock. There's weight and momentum to everything so swinging your gun around will result in some 'after-travel' when you centre the stick. I love it, feels so real.

Overall I am thoroughly hyped for the full game.

Did I mention how utterly fantastic the audio is?

P.S. I don't know what people's problem is with the aiming. It doesn't work like COD4 of course (good!) but when you line up your shots they connect every time. Headshots take off Helghan helmets first and then the next headshot = death. It's wonderful.

I'm hoping that if the release build does have it that it will be adjustable rather than just on or off as I've never really keen on it myself. I can't actually remember if there was any used in the online beta but I don't think it should be allowed online at all really.

Just found this on Joystiq.
With the exception of the occasional flying robot and massively armored supersoldier, Killzone 2 evokes the harrowing feel of modern warfare. However, the gunplay of Killzone is slower and more meticulous than the arcade-inspired controls of the CoD series. You won't auto-aim at enemies when using your sights, for example and you won't be singlehandedly mowing down hundreds of enemies. Your aim and movement is noticeably slower than most other FPSs.

Oh man, this game is all kinds of awesome! Strangly I did'nt have any trouble adapting to using the dualshock for this like I do everytime I play Resistence. Great day for demos!

In a word "AMAZING" this must set a new standard and omg the DTS audio.
The later is something a lot of the PS3 versions of multi format titles of late have always been loads better. None of this compressed poop for me thank you, I didnt invest loads of dosh in a decent setup for the heck of it.

I echo this. Best way to play it by far, for me It's basically CoD4 controls. Alt 2 and Zoom hold.
