I could never get into third strike the same (despite enjoying it), so this is more along what I like. My perception is that 3rd strike alienated a lot of players (myself included) by being too technical. I always prefered the simplicity of turbo. Although there is technical aspects to IV then seem a lot more user friendly for lapsed players and those who didn't get into third strike the same.

I have some friends over tomorrow for rock band and guitar hero, but I'm going to let them play IV to see what they think. A couple are lapsed street fighter II players, and there is even a street fighter virgin in there, so it will be interesting to see what they think of it.

Posh name for all the fireball karate men like Ryu, Ken Akuma etc. Shotokan.

When I play the game using the stick it does nothing for my anger levels and if I carry on using it something will end up being anger damaged.
Is your fightstick the SE or TE? The SE madcatz stick are poorly made from recent comments on SRK with the joystick mounting plate.

I do love a close fight, it's so tense trying to pick out the weak spot in your opponents move.

                  Gaming bliss indeed.

Hi guys, I see the official sticks have the forth buttons, (that are configured to simulate pressing all three at once).

My Sega Virtua High Grade (VSHG) stick doesn't have that. Is it going to give me a big disadvantage online you think?

It could be that or your not used to sticks as they take time to get used to the motions compared to pads. Ive had difficulty today around 4pm with both version and using TE on both systems and all of a sudden on Ken on PS3 (going thru the lot x2 on easiest so will take some time ie play beat ps3 with ken pause, switch to 360 do ken, start next char beat pause and repeat lol) and for some reason I couldnt do a fireball or spinning kick but could do a DP fine. Was worried then just reliased I was tired and needed to stop as I did exactly same with him on 360 then I got out of what I was doing wrong again. Ive always had probs with DP on pads since snes but could nail half circles all the time so its weird that although I have no memory of ever playing SF on a stick I can already do DP much easier on it.

I love the game anyway. Its made me go thru each character and even with having a really really bad issue with memory this week where I cant even remember my old Ryu/Ken days combos etc... (apparently thats I all I ever played) I find it a perfect SF2 SE really which for me is no better. I couldnt get into no air guard at first then it just clicked. Must admit for hour or so it felt odd but I prefer it now and even though Zero 2 was my fav I can see this being it. Im a not a fan of SF3 series I thought they where pretty average so cant compare em I just never got into em.

Yep it needs some things adding for online but if needs be at worst will just play friends on list with it till then at the very very worst.

I honestly cannot believe I have a near perfect single player SF IV arcade mock up in my room with the stick. Seth even though Im spamming it on easiest aint that hard if you get used to him. Ive been using chars I know nowt about and if you just low attack him alot then dash back you will be fine. Worst thing to do is get right near him or he will grab you. Hes not that bad a boss though even on normal default level definetly not a Dural.

Glad SF is back with a bang.

Na its 6 button m8 so arcade perfect. Games manual assign anyway the dark two button are auto assigned for x3 kick and punch. Reason their dark is arcade doesnt have them. I personally dont use them I find it quicker to press the 3 buttons at same time than reach. Chuff knows how you can do that with a fight pad though (so used to snes/ps pads for all left one and all right one for stuff like that) guess its the pad you would have to use bumpers for that to cheat lol

Yeah thanks for the games. I worried it would lag because you ping meter was on two bars, but it was great. Feel free to invite me again for spars!

Yeah, it was good from my end too - the ping meter sometimes lies me thinks, or it is over cautious.

Gr8 games and I will def invite you again and good to see so many off ntsc-uk all playing, I think this may be one of my online faves ever - like being back in the arcade for sure.

Dazzyman - you were so right about the sticks - enjoy juggling the versions!!

The ps3 states 720p on the back of the box, 360 has 720p, 1080i and 1080p. I have both machines and just bought the CE for the PS3, is the info correct for the 360? Is it the only version that supports 1080p? If anyone can answer asap that would be great as I'm standing in GAME wondering to return or not!
                                Cheers
