I do like Cammy and suprisingly M.Bison and Zangief. Never managed to get to grips with them back in the day.

Also Cammy's new starting pose is the best pose ever.

So which characters do people not like?

El Fuerte, Dhalsim and Vega are mine so far. Probably Fei Long as well as i haven't used him yet, never did get on with him in SSF2.

Don't like Zangief. I've loved him in all other versions but I think they've made him too powerful in this game. I find him a bit boring to play with.

Ken/Ryu/Akuma - Same shoto priority moves as in every other game. You can be sh!t at the game and still do well with these guys, which annoys me.

Don't really have a beef with anyone else. New guys are a nice mixture and I generally like to play with all characters anyway.

I'm a bit disappointed with Dhalsim, I don't know why but he feels really weak and you have to be on your best game just to survive with him. I've never had the chance to pwn with him like you could in HDR.

What happened to Zangief's running grab move? It used to be a fast waddle and grab, now it's a slow "heeeeeeeeeey, am a coming to getchyaaaaa!" - seen coming sweep. Gief is powerful (as always), but by jove does he have to work to get in range to do serious damage. Unless of course, people like to jump in.

The EX version of the running grab is okay at times, as it has super armour so you can take a hit and still get to the opponent. Though, to be honest, I've only got away with that a couple of times.

I'd never really used Zangief until SF4, and I've not entirely worked out what to do with him when your opponent's on the ground. Hanging around near them is obviously dangerous, but equally, Zangief needs to be close to do any damage.

Just unlocked Gouken. I had to finish it twice with Gouki, i did it once playing Gouki through the first time. But apparently you need to finish it with gouki first before you can fight him.

Very easy, just cranked the rounds up and made sure i did all the perfects and ultras before fight 3. It doesn't help i'm a master with gouki to begin with.

EDIT: Unlocked and finished it with everyone now. Easy peasy! Now i can finally focus on the game proper!

Well I take back what I said about Dhalsim...
Just had a session against Singho and man he knew some tricks! Had me all over the place!

He has some unbelieveable skank, was brilliant. I struggles against shotos tho as a lot of his skank is keeping people at range and its quite easy to eat random dragon punches

My initial thoughts after about 10 hrs of play:

Backgrounds are poor, they seem completely devoid of 'character' and are very bland. I don't want to battle in front of some idiot monkeys, I want drunk Russians going mental in the background when I'm getting mashed up. Still, one stage has a random drunk so it has partially redeemed itself!

New characters are a mixed bag. El Fuerte and Abel fit in well, C Viper looks like something out of KOF Maximum Impact, and Rufus is an abomination of a creation. I'd much rather have T Hawk the old muppet back over this turnip. And no Dee Jay =

Charge characters seem to take an age to perform specials which means I'm struggling to become effective with Guile (in particular). Vega seems to have lost all of his speed and reach from HDR, but at least Fei Long seems pretty strong so far

Not really used much of the focus attack in battles yet, just been concentrating on local battles with my bro this weekend so plan on using the trial/challenge mode to bring me up to speed with that. Added many of you fine flks too on Live so will let you dish out some beatings soon!

So far then I'm pleased with the game - not up there with HDR IMO but that may well change. Feels like SF2.5 would be an apt title but that's no negative, Capcom have made the correct decision to broaden its appeal after SF3. I'd like to hope this will kick start the genre and at very least get Rare to finally produce KI3 for some more Ultra Combo action

Watch out when prefering 'more skilled' players, I thought I'd be a hotshot and try searching for those three times so I could rape some easy 80+ish points from someone... I was totally wrong and nearly had my arsehole raped off. It goes off ranked matches faught I think, as all three people were really good (and not Ken) but all had under half the BP I had meaning my points accumulation idea back-fired drastically.

1800-1500 in three matches.

Akuma gets bitchslapped even more than Yang did in 3rd strike, once you catch him he's f**ked. Most (at crap level) will start with a backwards jump and fireball which you can dash through and catch him as he comes down.

I just caught one floating towards me doing his ultra with an ultra from 'Gief ftw. lewl. He msg'd me after, calling me a lucky n00b.

Gouken is actually a lot worse when you get someone decent on him. But from what I can tell it's not easy playing as him so that's ok.

I'm sitting in the 500's because I can't actually find anyone with a skill rating higher than mine. :/

I keep losing to 0bp spamming scrubs and i've lost half my bp.

Also, you can mess up all these shoto noobs by just jumping over them before they get up, they will try to dragon punch on get-up as you land behind them. Rinse + repeat and watch the points roll in.

I'm gonna learn Balrog properly I reckon, his headbutt is nasty business.

I just can't bring myself to enjoy this game, it's like playing Soul Calibur IV online all over again. It's the exact same level of frustration and there's just no enjoyment in it at all.

I got up to 1000+ points and now i'm sub-500, simply because the game is so absolutely **** balanced it's untrue. Ken seems to have absolute priority over everyone else, maybe aside from Zangief, and as someone that doesn't even like shoto characters, i'm pretty much ****ed trying to play a good game. I can learn a character all I like, I just feel like the balance is completely and utterly ****ed. You have this massive roster of characters and half of them, in online play, are absolutely useless.
