I'm exactly the same actually... I find it easier to pull off the double QCF from the 2p side.

Back when I was at school I used to play an arcade machine called Armed Formation quite a lot as the local video shop had it - for some reason (I must've seen someone else do it) I used to play with my hands crossed over ie left hand on the buttons with right hand crossed over the left wrist to use the stick. As an experiment I tried this with my SFIV stick and I can pull off the double QCF's much better in that stance too. Can't actually play like that though and it'll be much easier to keep practicing until I "get it" naturally. Very odd.

I was the same and although I've gotten better I still prefer to play 2P side. I also find I can dash to the right easier than to the left too.

I guess, when it comes to SF, my standards are very high. I don't see why they shouldn't be given that, since SF2, the game has been a leader in most areas. But it's not all bad. Some of the BGs are great - I particularly like the overpass one. And the Sagat model is absolutely fantastic.

On the 1P/2P thing, since back in the SF2 days, I'm crippled the moment I end up on the right hand side of the screen. I always knew it was a weakness, always knew I should do something about it but just never did. I'm a 1P man all the way. Actually, with this, I'm having problems with the PS3 d-pad for moves. It's possible I'm just too rusty but I think I have to find a better pad.

While I'm here, I may as well mention that I hate that goddam cheap blue smurf bastard. Is he worse than Gil? I don't know but I don't like him. We're no longer on speaking terms.

Really? I think Rufus is a great design. He's a lot of fun to play too, especially against shotos who haven't got a clue how to do anything but dragon punches.

Actually I like all the new characters. Abel is a classic SF design, he just looks like he's always been in the SF universe <3

I'm definitely improving my Sakura play now. My ranked wins ratio is now up to 40%, and I've pretty much got the hang of beating poor shoto play (one guy last night kept doing Ryu's hurricane kick over and over despite the fact that every time he did it I just knocked him out of it with a crouching fierce punch), although someone did utterly wipe the floor with me as Honda (despite me flukily discovering that a standing weak punch knocks Honda out of even his EX torpedo charge)

I think Capcom has delivered high standard visuals. They say beauty is in the eye of the beh..zzzzz.

Some backgrounds are a bit bland. We could do with more. As for animations and gfx, Capcom get a round of applause from my hands, feet and balls.

The game looks great in my opinion although it would have been nice if we got character specific backgrounds. Maybe in the next iteration.

I love the animation in this. Chun-Li especially is a joy to watch

I noticed last night that she actually spins in the air on the way down from the momentum if you land her air throw high enough.

I?ll hold my hands up and admit I shouldn?t have fell for it as many times as I did but it made the first round a write off. Problem was this guy didn?t have a plan B and once I clocked it he became very easy and took the final 2 rounds with little effort.
I faced my first El Fuerte in Ranked a couple of days ago. Yes he used the splash a fair bit, but at least he mixed it up, tried different things, attacked normally and did the running, and jumping off the wall. Still eventually wrecked his ass though, but it was a little grinding as it was hard to pin him down and enact some combos.

Just a reminder in case anyone has missed it. There's a friendly NTSC-uk 360/PS3 SFIV tourney thread now open to all here. Will probably at least be kicking off the 360 comp tonight or tomorrow.
