I'd rather play the game blissfully ignorant as to how the game may end, enjoying it as I'm playing it, not dreading the ending of the game because someone was thoughtless.

fair enough, personally I think games

      with no ending

should have warning stickers plastered all over them!

Regarding endings Ive played a few this year

Halo 3 and COD4 are good examples of just ending on a wtf moment, Gears of War another one to be continued. Worst one was Rainbow 6 las vegas doesnt matter for me as I enjoyed playing it and the rest

Seeing as IGN say the framerate issues only effect gameplay two third into the game shouldnt that quote from them have been spoilered out too?

Sorry... i know its wrong but I couldnt resist.

Halo 3's ending was actualy really good imo, like a few others on here have said before I love how it ended like Halo 1 started with the chief getting into the cryo thing. What was up in the air about COD4s ending? They killed the terrorist and saved the day didnt they? Agree about Gears though, infact the whole of the storytelling in Gears is a bit badly done/edited.

Why does this have spoliers, Ubi pretty much told everyone or it was leaked about a year ago and its been pointed out in every review.

I must admit, I think I don't like it because of the

I think it'd be a better game, but that's obviously down to personal opinion.

Seeing that games cost quite a bit( well from the perspective of the non-rich) ... I tend to listen to opinion, and make my decisions based on peoples feeback and reviews.

I've read through each page in this thread, and no where did I see any strong enthusiasm for the game. Mostly.. it seems like people are feeling let-down by the experience, but are persevering, to see if things improve.

With COD4 getting rave reviews, and other gems around right now, I won't be bothering with this. It's a shame, because I expected the media and gamers to say that it's "Mindblowing" ...

You need to read my post better rmoxon I didnt have a dig at the games infact the oposite I said I enjoyed them and I quote myself "doesnt matter for me as I enjoyed playing it and the rest"!

All I mean is their not "proper endings" in point i was making their left open because those games are open to sequels and its been widely known Assassin is susposed to be a trilogy like GOW, I enjoyed that (I thought GOW was better for it as made me exited for the next one) and the games I listed I thought where all fine I wasnt having a go at any of em I just get sick of people bitching that their not true endings their left like that for a sequel for the developers and I have no problems with that and yet again the games I mentioned I thought where great cliffhangers. Id rather have a great time playing the game and then to be continued pop up than play a crap game get fed up and never finish it anyday.

Apparently theres a better ending on this if you leave the credits going to end which some stupid reviewers didnt watch

Ive peed about on this some more tonight and its a fantastic game you just have to play it the way it was intended nice and stealthy or it falls apart with AI like MGS and all the other stealth games do if you rush about.

I didn't notice any stand-out enthusiasm from your post. I didn't read everything in this thread, but I gathered that the overall tone was fairly negative.

It's not like the COD4 thread, where everyone seems to be going nuts over the experience. That cemented the purchase for me.

Mario Galaxy is also getting extremely positive feedback.

I really thought this game was going to be a big hit with the media and gamers, but the response hasn't been overwhelmingly positive.

Maybe.. if I gave it a try, I'd like it, but if I thought like that, I'd be buying games left right and centre.

It is a brilliant game, in my opinion, but it is dependant on the gamer playing it from what I have read and seen. You mentioned CoD4 getting rave reviews, in that game the set pieces are scripted so everyone will be pretty much have the same experience. In a game like Assassin's Creed you create your own set pieces, whether it be evading guards on rooftops or doing an assassination a particular way. If you are into stealth games then you will find some enjoyment out of this game and also if you like games like Crackdown and GTA then again you will find something to like in it too. The word "repetitive" has been used alot by some people, again that would be dependant on what sort of gamer you are. The game has a set "structure" to it and to be honest it isn't disimilar to that of a GTA game, yet any GTA game will get rave reviews even if it is mediocre (Vice City Stories, Liberty City Stories). From a technical stand point it is stunning and think anyone will be hard pressed to argue with that. I would say experience the game yourself mate, you might end up liking it.

                          .

I need to read your post better?, what are you on about? all you said is that you didnt like certain games endings and I asked why and gave my opinions.
Didnt I ask a fair question?
And don't I have a right to say what I think?
I never said you didn't enjoy the games! whats with the defensiveness?

My brother is a major fan of rpg's, and he's urging me to buy the game( so.. he can play it ). I think I'll give it a go, once the price comes down a bit.

What you say is true. The game is far more open than COD4, so the player has to invest more effort and time to get the most out of the experience.

It's just that the response hasn't been overwhelmingly positive, and with the cost of games, plus the fact that rpg's have to receive glowing reviews to attract my attention, means I'm very cautious with my purchases.

Your enthusiasm for the game makes me feel it's worth investigating though.

Leon Ahoy I mentioned it earlier m8 its one of those games that you put what you want into it to get the most back. Reminds me very much of Crackdown where you can do what you want but you dont have to in mission structure. If you like climbing everywhere and faffing about collecting stuff on Crackdown you could or you could just run around and kill people for the heck of it etc.. I think the games fantastic but its definetly one of those games that I play a certain style in with stealth and quietness and I dont think peeps will get as much out of it running around and skipping alot of the side quests. You need to judge for yourself on this one as its one of those you will either fall for or think its crap.

Crackdown's orbs were more fun to find though due to their glowing drone sounds.
