Yep, that's where it started for me. It's VERY noticable, yet extremely odd how it just suddenly starts.

Think I heard the PS3 version has a slightly smoother framrate too for that matter.
There is considerable texture pop-in and, on PS3, considerable framerate issues. Seeing the two versions side by side, there is no question that the PS3 version runs more poorly than the 360. This is most noticeable in the latter stages of Assassin's Creed. Unfortunately, it does eventually begin to affect gameplay.
I really would like to buy one of two more games for my PS3, just so I feel like I can somewhat justify spending over ?400 on it. Looks like another one for my 360 then.

With it being a free roaming game it doesn't load very frequently , and when it does load it is an interactive loading screen. You can run Altair around a cloudy mysterious area , it's kinda like an interactive version of the loading scenes in the Darkness. I didn't notice them to be particuarly long myself though (but I have only seen it like 3 times)
When you die it takes under 10 seconds to reload your last save (via a traditional loading screen), I've got nothing to complain about with the loading at all.

I would ignore most of the reviews for this game. Here's a example of why:
From the IGN review:
"Playing back-to-back with the 360 version, it's obvious that Ubisoft did not devote enough resources to the PS3 edition. The framerate is considerably worse, so much so that it begins to affect gameplay in the later levels. You can get through the first two-thirds of Assassin with the framerate being just an annoyance, but it becomes more of an issue for the final third of the missions."
From the Gamespot review:
"There are few differences between the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions. PS3 owners are blessed with a slightly more solid frame rate, although the 360 version features a little more contrast in the lighting, so it's pretty much a wash."

Boris, at first yes
I must admit, I think I don't like it because of the
future
aspects which I feel slightly tarnish the game. As I said in the headlines thread, if they kept the game just set in the
past
I think it'd be a better game, but that's obviously down to personal opinion.Last edited by Jebus; 14-11-2007, 16:45.
