The bloke in Game (I know...) said that the PAL game they're selling wouldn't be activated until 4pm(GMT) tomorrow... He and the manager were telling everyone this on Friday.

Wouldn't it have been a more sensible idea to have had the game unlocked at midnight on a per time-zone basis? All this current set up means is that some folk will have to wait until tea time to play it (despite it being the 16th and them owning the bastard). Not to mention the already oft-mentioned huge server spike when everyone all unlocks at once.

I hope this idea dies and is never even contemplated again.

I've got a standard copy of HL2 on pre-order @ gameplay.co.uk which was supposed to be shipped yesterday but is still stands as just 'ordered'

And I've got the Collectors Edition ordered from Game.net but that hasn't been shipped either

Anyone had their copy shipped? (if so what version & were from)

Just had an email from Game saying they have no idea when the Collector's Edition will be released. To be honest I have so many other games just bought, or on preorder (Football Manager, Halo 2, MP2, Vampire Bloodlines, Pro Evo 4, KotOR2 etc etc...) I really can't be bothered and as long as its not like next summer or something (!!!) I think I'll just wait.

Yep just got the email from Game aswell. So at the moment the CE version is basically unobtainable within the UK, as nowhere appears to be selling it Anyone know a US site which is stocking the CE version?

Mine says the same ( on order since the 27/08/03 ), but apparently someone on Gameplay's own forum say's the copies have been sent but the customer accounts not updated
