Yes. There are "levels" of each ability.

Anyone put off by the train level though should do well to remember that it's a tutorial level, thus not overly exciting.

I love jumping on a cable, scooting along at high speed then lightening death on my enemies.

As far as i could tell all your abilities are fully upgraded in the demo, so if you think the character is underpowered its guna be a struggle starting from scratch.

I do like the was the character looks when fully on the evil side though sucking the life force from people and having a cluster bomb grenade was quite quite fun. And using the shock-wave as cars came idely down the street is immensely satisfying

The missions in the demo seemed quite varied but I did struggle to entertain myself doing sandbox stuff, I couldn't find anything particuarly amusing to do

Same here. It's not the same as causing a traffic jam, getting onto the nearest building and launching a rocket at the jammed cars

Think I'll just go about getting my powers, doing missions and getting some trophies when I get it.

Leaping around is really cool, I love the way you can scrabble up any building with a few pipes/lamposts and electrical cables to aid your ascent

I think that whilst it's a sandbox game, it's very story driven, not so many distractions as a Crackdown, GTA etc.

That said, I'm told that there are a lot of side missions that are more varied, so who knows!

I quite like the thought of their being some stealth missions, it reminded me alot of Assasins Creed for some reason

I think to compare the game to the likes of Crackdown or GTA and label it as sandbox is a bit strange. The game has the look of a sandbox game (open city and so on) but I think it is actually quite linear.

Yes you can roam around and choose what missions to do (there are also side missions) but it doesn't have the same amount of freedom as Crackdown or GTA. That isn't necessarily a bad thing as it means Infamous is more focused one particular facet rather than trying to be a jack of all trades. I think Jebus got it spot on, this is more of a story driven game than the games everyone seems to be comparing it too.

If people are looking a sandbox game where they can do crazy stuff then Prototype maybe the game for them or they can always go back to the wonderful Crackdown.

I expect such a well crafted world and the gameplay features to leave plenty of room for sandbox hilarity, but there doesn't seem to be any, I don't know why either.

I don't think there is any part of the game that is designed for "hilarity" full stop.

I quite enjoyed flipping kicking people in the face so they fell off buildings, that was when the AI wasn't making them run away from me

The game itself is better than the demo as you start from the beginning so you can get used to your new found powers gradually. I have been playing for a couple of hours or so and still no sign of the train mission.

As you gain experience from doing missions you can upgrade your powers. As you do parts of the missions you also unlock new powers. I am enjoying it a lot more than I did the demo. Having a difficulty setting is always useful from my point of view. Even on easy I am still managing to die occasionally.

So far I have only been doing the main missions I think. There are different coloured icons for the missions on the mini-map.

As you do missions you clear territories on the map. I am at about 5% after my couple of hours or so.

I read that you were fully upgraded in the demo - is that the case? I hate it when developers do that, why bother playing the full game?

                                Having fun so far.

Very early on you're presented with a choice which will give you you first taste of either being adored or hated. I chose to be nasty and straight away the news is out via massive TVs on buildings. I'm being pelted with rocks and I now have to get out of the city

                                I'm getting mauled out there.

Enjoyed climbing poles and balancing on top of them

I've started this in Hard as there's a gold trophy for a Hard playthrough without changing difficulty throughout. Suppose you can always do Hard the second time through getting Hero/InFamous status.

Oh, can someone change this thread title to just 'InFamous'?
