My version of this is that I'm on the first mission and don't know whether to give it any more time. I find the camera and control system very irritating.

It took a little while for it to click with me originally (controls/movement. Running anims are awful in this game.) but I soon felt at home with it.

At the moment I just feel like I've seen/done everything it has offer apart from some set pieces. Do I really want to trudge through another *shrug* 6-8 hours to just see the story out? I could just watch the interesting bits on youtube.

I stuck with inFamous and completed it a few days ago. I focused on completing the story (evil) and stopped bothering with the collecting as I would have never gotten them all.

It wasn't a chore but it's far from essential gaming. Travelling around the islands was the highlight. The story didn't do much for me and the endless repetition in the combat was a drag but not a killer.

I'm playing this now, borrowed it off a mate. I've only done 2hrs or so but I've never been a fan of these sandbox GTA type things. Its alright I spose, that electrician guy decided to run into a wall then I watched him fall through the floor. Modern games rock.

This game defines generic and repetitive. I am looking forward to it ending. It can't be long now I hope. Can't even be arsed to collect the shards unless they are in plain view, and side missions are getting repeated quite often. Just heading towards the main missions now in a desperate attempt to finish it.

Why the desperation to complete something you won't enjoy completing?

Because I have nothing else to play so ..

Quiet you, I know you're just conducting a Sony user survey or something. I'm not that naive!

Are there any games this generation that you've enjoyed?

Get back to Pong, luddite. What, you heard that before?

Is there nothing that you want to play or is it that you don't own anything you want to play at the moment? Not done a load of gaming lately and I've got a few here sitting on the shelf which will probably stay that way, I'm feeling generous so PM me if you fancy borrowing something.

I'll even include some non-Sony Wii & 360 games if they're of any use to you.

Sure, good ones like Uncharted/2 MGS4, etc. I'm not jaded, sorry if my opinion of what constitutes as a decent game is different from yours.

No, I'm genuinely curious. I don't think I've ever heard you say anything positive about the current generation. Was just wondering if you might be best cutting your losses and sticking to older games.

Theres lots of good games this generation, but theres more mediocre twaddle. I admit I'm fussier than most but I look at the ****e most people are playing and think wow. Just wow. This is a good example, nothing wrong with it as such, its just incredibly mediocre.

Given up now, got to 33% or something and was just doing the same thing over and over, boring. Deleted my save and giving it back.

loved Crackdown, but also liked the demo of Infamous. so i am wondering what is most likely the better game for me - this or Crackdown 2? advice is appreciated.

They're very different types of games to be honest.

When it comes to Crackdown 2, a friend asked me if it was worth buying a couple of weeks back and I honestly couldn't think of any reason to recommend the second game over the first. Nothing gets better in the second game but some things do get significantly worse. I advised him to buy the first game as he'd not played it and it's less than half the price.

inFamous doesn't match the first Crackdown for just messing around which really is Crackdown's strong point but I do feel most other things are better in inFamous as it's a far better constructed game and as much as I love Crackdown some parts have aged quite a bit.

For me at least, Crackdown 2 essentially feels a lesser team attempted to make a tribute to the first game without really understanding what made the first game good.

I find it difficult to compare the two franchises though as I've played both of them so much and they just feel completely different to me. As you've played the demo you pretty much know what you're going to get from inFamous and you've already played a superior version of Crackdown 2 when you played the first game.

I suppose if I have to recommend one I'd say pick up inFamous, you can get it for about ?10 over here. Play that now as you'll probably find Crackdown 2 for a similar price in a few months.

inFamous just "felt" right. Cole was very easy to control and had a decent weight and momentum. The controls in inFamous are far superior to Crackdown. But, as John says, there was more fun to be had just mucking about in Crackdown.

Crackdown 2 was arse! Played it for an hour before getting fed up with how inferior everything felt to the original.

Can't wait for inFamous 2. The story of the first was cool so it'll be great to have it continued. Fingers crossed Sucker Punch continue their great run. Sly Racoon to look forward to pre-Xmas so that should keep me SP sated until inFamous 2 hits next year.
