That guy who had the "LFC" at the end of his name, with the spock ears...I'm CERTAIN he was the one the other day as well wasn't he? He "took the money" both times too!

I'm enjoying it still but I dunno the odds seem a bit rubbish. I did LOL at the guy getting the first question wrong.

I was in first place on points after 5 or 6 questions ... then blew it on some "Lady GaGa" question. Gutted. You REALLY need to press the correct answer within 10-15 milliseconds of it appearing to even stand a chance.

Indeed, but for me now that's it. I must have spent well over 10 hours playing this to up my chances of getting into the mob, had I done so I'd have been tempted to pay for a season pass when they eventually start charging.

The odds are just far too stacked against you, there's far too many "oddities" with the scoring, and now I'm absolutely certain I've seen one person be "the one" twice (despite MS saying that won't happen) I just have no confidence in it being "fair".

I'll still play the beta LIVE shows, but I can't be bothered with it any more. I don't think I'm alone as I noticed the extended play figures dwindling, last night after the LIVE show it was down to just 14,000 people playing, which again dropped to the low 12,000's.

As the appeal is lost, maybe with the lives show there will be more chance of getting in the Mob.

It's a pretty poor experience when you can't hear the live host either. You've no idea why some of the breaks are longer than others if you can't hear it's cause the host is chatting to someone live on air, or taking the piss out of someone for getting a really easy one wrong.

The first live show had 80,000+ playing. It's been dropping slowly, and I think it'll probably average around 10,000 during the beta, and then drop more if they decide to charge for it after the beta.

Your lifetime score, percentage correct answers and performance just determine a likelihood to be selected for the Mob. To be fair, I figure I should be doing well enough to be in with a better chance so far, if I make it to a Live night again.

Now I'm in the US, I've been playing that version, well on my friend's account. Average players was 12,000 per block, and the questions are much easier actually.

Yes I too have given up on this the scoring seems all screwed up I got the first block of question up to the first break right on Saturday night all with instant answer bonus and no skips or anything but still ended up 2000 points off the lead score.

I also totally agree with the randomness for getting selected for the mob I played every night up until Saturday to increase my chances to no avail. None of my friends have got in to the mob either and they too have been playing all the time.

My cynical side says that a not so good % of correct answers increase your chances of being the one as most of the ones I have seen have been pretty useless.

Its a shame really because its actually very well done and I haven't had any of the live host issues others have mentioned.

I've noticed that a lot of the people who become the One have a relatively low gamerscore (around 2,000). I might be wrong, but I'd have thought the people who would play the Extended Plays non stop would be the sort of people with higher gamerscores, which indicates to me that there's something not quite right.

I still like the trivia though and some of the answers are hilarious.

The only time I thought the scoring was squiffed was when the One screwed up their first question, and I answered with +194 speed bonus, which I think meant I had answered within 60 milliseconds of the correct answer appearing (the maximum available is +200, which I tested by hammering X as quick as I could). The game ended after that one question and the three players at the top of the chart were 200-odd points in front of me. I don't really understand how that can happen.

Apart from that, it all seems OK to me. Like I said earlier, when you're in the Crowd, it is as much a reaction time contest as a trivia contest.

There's a videogame question block on here tonight in the US, will have to see how I do on that. Now why can't something like that be in the Euro one too?

...but how can they possibly be delivering the questions simultaneously, with zero lag when 70,000 people are online playing? Surely a milisecond is the difference between getting an instant answer and getting +150 etc. I've answered as quick as humanely possible but not gotten an "instant answer".

In a game where speed and sharpness of finger is king, I'm concerned at the latency affecting answer times. How else could the scenario you mentioned have been possible, unless they are being delivered the questions before you, so to speak.

I don't think it matters. You're not in a race with the other players directly, so whether you receive the question +/- a few seconds makes no odds. The game code is just recording the time taken between the question appearing onscreen, and you pressing the answer, and that's what it'll report back to the server, not that you pressed the answer at "20:33:54.154 PM".
