if that is what you mean you should look a bit better at the options to change the controls, it's there...

Semi-auto is when it changes up by itself, but you can change down at will no? That is there already I'm sure.
      Kept you waiting, huh?

On the new style Impreza that I drove when my was being fixed it had semi automatic. What it basically means is an automatic gear box that you can shift up and down at will using the shift stick just like in an arcade game. However if you do nothing the car will shift for you. Sort of a lazy man's manual if you will. Can't say I liked it much when leaving the car to decide since no matter what mode I set the car to it never shifted when I wanted it to. It would rather rev the balls out of the engine before shifting up.

You can't beat a true manual gear box IMO when it comes to real car. Now, on games, that's a whole different area. Semi auto is very cool.

Why would you want to do this?

I decided last night to start getting together a couple of really strong cars in each class so that I can start racing online with the big boys. Because I haven't spent anywhere as much time on the game as I would have liked, whenever I was racing in large lobbies they all had far superior cars and/or setups.

I did the R3, A and C classes by looking at the leaderboards for the fastest cars and then blatantly searched for setups on the Storefront for that car (sorting by most downloaded on the general no brainer that most downloaded would tend to be the better setups), and then decided to do a few laps with the R3 car I got. What a difference. It only took about 5/6 laps in the car and I was within the top 200 or 300 of each leaderboard and that was without even nailing a super-clean lap.

Im going to continue for all the other classes with the aim of having 3 really good cars for each class, so that Im not racing the same car all the time. This is one beautiful game.

I've only just started playing this.

I'm enjoying tarting up my cars as much as racing. I'm doing the best car evaah at the moment, so I've a few noob questions to ask:

Can you just buy decals from people?
How do you search for other people's storefronts?
How do I display my awesome car for all to see?

              Thaaanks!

yep, you visit the storefront and look for buy decals on the left menu of the storefront, you can even fill in for what kinds of decalls you are looking for.

How do you search for other people's storefronts?
I usually check the leaderboards (best tuner, laptimes, painter, photo, etc etc) and then select the name and check their storefront.

make a picture and upload it on your storefront,
or when you made some stunning designs, save the design of your car and upload it on the storefront and see if there are people willing to pay for your desing on their cars

Give the menu some time and as soon as you know how it works you will see it all makes sense and it's really easy to use... but I admit when you first start with it it all looks a bit strange and illogical

so when you're done looking at Sheva's ass I expect to see you on the racing track again !!

oh, and you should dev get the Nurburgring DLC, the track is awesome, they did a really good job on it as well, it's even better as it was in PGR3/4 !

I managed to grab my code for the Nurburging today and I'm looking forward to giving it a go.

I echo some of the sentiments of the atmosphere of the circuit, it's very bright with lush green grass and blue skies. When I saw the first video of it, it looked excatly like it does in F355 with good magic weather enabled.

Also, that Aston Martin One-77 is mine!

Sure thing, should have RE5 completed this weekend and then back to the track full time!

I have a few basic designs which have mostly sold in ones and twos. Feel free to check my Storefront and if anyone is interested in any of them PM me and I will gift them to you.

                        Tag is on my Profile.

no, there is still no semi-auto shifting in Forza. just manual or fully automatic, which is quite ridiculous if you take into account this series aims to provide an authentic racing experience.

because manually shifting down can give you better control, better handling and acceleration in corners. depending on the shifting system or car this is more or less recommended and also an actual feature in many affordable sportive cars. even the Alfa 147 of my ex has semi-automatic wheel shifting. Alfa Romeo calles it Selespeed.

I'd been after the big price cars for a while (10 million credits and above) so checked out the Auction House after getting to just under 20 million. There was a '64 Ferrari GTO with a minute ti go for the princely sum of 11,6 million (an 8.4 million saving). Needless to say I bought it.

Owner number 4 apparently. Can't think why anyone would want to sell it as it does drive rather nicely. It came with 143,000 credits worth of parts (to the top of A Class pretty much and was good there). Only test driven before as it had 0 miles on the "clock". I took it to Level 5 as a B500 then a C425 and am still impressed with it. Nothing spectacular maybe, just a very good drive.

in the options you can choose to race with manual gears with the use of the clutch and you choose the option to race with manual gears without using clutch (that would be semi-automatic....),
and then ofcourse you can choose the option for full auto gears.
I believe that covers it all ? ...

I think Uli is refering to being able to select full automatic gear changing, but being able to manually shift up or down if need be whilst using fully automatic.
