Now this is what gaming is all about, that is all

Hello everybody, my first post here - please be gentle. I downloaded the Bayonetta demo from the JP PSN when it first became available, and despite the odd framerate drop here and there, enjoyed it tremendously. Then, on Thursday I downloaded the UK demo. I'd heard some rumours that the demo had been tidied up for us Brits, with framerate and texture fixes and the like, and wanted to check it out. Well, while the UK demo does indeed look a bit crisper and play quite a bit smoother than I remember the JP demo so doing, it might just be my eyes playing tricks on me. Either way, I wonder if you guys noticed any differences between the full JP PS3 game and the new UK demo? Thanks in advance.

didn't like the demo at all, can't for the life of me see how this is a 10 out of 10 game.

all I kept wondering was why my character was a cross between Tina Fey and Sarah Palin and what the hell was actually going on.

this sort of thing isn't my favourite but I quite liked Wolverine, God of War, excuse my ignorance but couldn't see the difference here that elevates it to all time great status.

I'd imagine it's the depth and flow of the combat on offer, which is considerably deeper and flowier (um...) than in Wolverine for sure.

That's just what I thought too but I still went ahead and bought it on the 360 and must say it's a fantastic game. Visuals are amazing, plays really well in an oldschool beat'em up combo type of way, British voices so your ears won't bleed and an amazing atmosphere. I'm playing every night since I bought it last week with no boredom at all setting in. Poor Forza3, and Mushihime Sama have been put on hold for a while.

PS: judging by the screen shots in the 360 Bayonetta theme there's also a Virtua Fighter parody game and a Wonderboy in Monster Land parody!! Those alone make it worth buying.

The best part in the ENTIRE game is when she says that

              she likes making babies

              . Apparently.
              Kept you waiting, huh?

I'm a fan of VF, Tekken and also DMC and the likes. I like deep fighting games. For me Bayonetta is absolutely worth a 10/10. I've enjoyed it more than Uncharted 2 and after 40 hours I still didn't put it down. The fighting engine, with dodge offset cancels, parries, punishers and juggles is perfect. The atmosphere is brilliant, a bit like Viewtiful Joe mixed with DMC. Then the music, which I feel is original and absolutely classy stuff. The Sega references must be a pleasant surprise for every Sega long timer out there. Bayonetta doesn't really hold back either, it blatantly uses foul language and it works as its not like GeoW and Killzone during every conversation.

Its simply put a quantum leap over DMC, thats how I feel it. Where new directors took DMC a little step forward and even backwards, Kayima himself took the best parts, crafted his own world and delivered this magnificent game.

Ofcourse, the genre has to be your thing. If being reviewed within the genre, I can see this scoring a 10/10 as I have not played a better slasher.

I've just finished the game and for those who still have doubts about buying it you must be mad. The ending alone makes it worth buying!! It just keeps giving and giving!

If you like action games then you'll love Bayonetta.

                        *correction* ;]

                        Seriously.
The whole sequence near the end of boss fight after boss fight, ending with

guiding Juvileous through the solar system

is full of pure. epic. win.
                        From the crazy bat**** choreography,
                        crazy ass jazz battle music,
cross-referencing from previous games and characters,
not to mention the tight controls.

This game has left me with a grin from ear to ear.
                        Beginning to end.

Friend of mine has seen me playing this on the PS3 and wondered what it was all about. Two things sold him on it, the first was an explanation that it was DMC taken to it's most extreme. The second was a youtube video of Bayonetta suplexing the Cardinal Virtue of Fortitude. One sold the game to him more than the other

Finished the game over the weekend, there's still some things that stop the game being a perfect ten for me. One of which being surprise deaths in the form of QTEs that could be avoided by simply extending the time frame for executing them. That they occur during intense boss battles is even more irritating. Another being Grace and Glory, bloody gits. But that's just me whining, it is still the best title of it's ilk I've played so far.

Now if someone could just translate the damn story for me, wtf was that all about?

hehehe, I know what you mean. Even though it's in English it's still a WTF are you talking about story line. Never really fully understood what the hell was going on but still fully enjoyed the ride. Going back tonight to unlock all the secrets.

I stopped playing this after 50 hours and 1000 GP so I could play a few other games that have been completely neglected since this arrived.
Still I find myself thinking about it all the time!! I just wanna get stuck back in and start breaking down some of the fighting, as there are weapon setups that I?ve not even used!! Really understanding what the game is offering is what makes it a 10/10 for me. That and the obvious love it was made with, with so many gaming little references and homages

Grace and Glory can be tricky. The best technique I?ve found is to dodge left/right and take them up in the air with back+P or K. Once you?re in the air you?ll be able to get a few digs in before they break out (I find the Claw?s electric charge hit does the best damage). Also if you have Kilgore on your legs, jumping off them gives you your very own Bayonetta Rocket Jump for another hit. You have to be weary tho as too long in the air and the other one(s) will attack you.

The story... Yes, so erm is Bayonetta on the baddies side or what? I still do not have any idea as to what the hell is going on.

I've neglected the slut of late too. I shall go back to her one day.
