After a quick blast on this I've found the single player to campaign to be more of the same, with a new lick of paint (which for me is absolutely fine, as I found COD4 enjoyable enough). I bought it for the multiplayer and so far this hasn't disappointed. The range of maps seems to be good, in particular the Afghan level with tiered rock faces.

So many multiplyer stages remind me of the latter, especially the airport, slums and mansion..
I also felt the guns had less of a punch to them when firing & on impact, much like the guns in Quantum Of Solace

Oh. My. God!!
I've just played a level out of
Mirror's Edge; running across the rooftops and making a daring escape onto a ladder dangling from a helicopter. It was done better in Mirror's Edge
The atmosphere is pretty good at times. You feel yourself getting caught up in the smoke and gunfire and when you do well in a mission it can almost feel a bit "punch the air" but I've died too many times from what I like to call "Resistance 2 Syndrome" where the baddies like to shoot at you and nobody else like it's all my fault that there's a war on!

I have played a lot more of single player, and it does get better. Still not so much a fan of the American missions (much like the first modern warfare).

Ok, I don't know what was wrong with me last night. I'll put it down to tiredness. Anyway, I started again from scratch and am now enjoying it quite a bit. Unable to go online though as that seems to be broken (PS3).
Anyone else notice that the controversial level's graphics are quite a bit weaker than the others?

Very much so yeah, the airport multiplayer map is highly devoid of any solid detail with plenty of blocky textures too.
Infact, as soon as I left the tutorial section, the rest of the game has thus far taken a significant hit in terms of visual.
I had to laugh at a particular online feature on the game/series I'd read not too long ago, claiming that this is one of the most visually proficient fps titles to date - um, not played too many of those then!

While you can say those 2 games look better technically, as far as action and art direction goes cyrsis = pretty jungles, lovely inside spaceship stuff and dull everything else with a halo'esk make your own fun(during the 1st half) while KZ2 is slow, dull and dank with **** controls and the most hatable A.i. partners i've ever come across, mw2 is has colours everywhere, action everywhere you look, all while moving blisteringly fast, as so far(im up to the oil rig) every level has felt different and in a believable setting.

Soap, with his "Mohawk" reminds me a bit of Shev from Killzone 2 visually.
The game has most certainly picked up for it's second half! After the
Oil Rig
the
Gulag
was awesome to play.
I did like the way that you saw the
Nuke flying across the globe from the ISS. That was a cool idea. Nothing to do with the game mind you
I see IGN hve given this 9.4. I'm intrigued as to what Edge and GamesTM will
score it.

Obviously MW2 is going to be more believable. It's, loosely, based on real world type issues and hypothetically real threats. KZ2 was set in space. In a galaxy far, far away. Although, after reading the back story to the KZ2 universe I'd say the KZ2 story is far better even if it is pulp sci-fi.
Ooh, and you can lean in KZ2. On a console FPS. Fancy that!!
