The horned ridges and scales along the underside of the Drell's penis made for some deeply unpleasant chafing. It was...odd. Not that she had much right to say what was 'odd' in the matter of men's penises, having scant knowledge of that part of a man's anatomy. Maybe they were all like that? Whatever, she was crying 'em off. Any hopes she had of keeping her liaison a secret were blown clean out the galaxy when he came, inflating his throat like a giant pink whoopee cushion and letting out a mating call like a dreadnought siren-ing battlestations that rattled the whole damned ship, stem to stern. Funny looks, nudges and giggles in the canteen at breakfast, after stopping by the infirmary for some cream. Joker looked like he was going to do one of his 'funnies' but Shepherd shot him a look that let him know he'd be in for an airlocking, quick-smart. Krios slinks down half asleep yawning in her bedroom slippers and sits opposite, fluttering his nictitating membranes coyly over whatever goop it is lizardmen eat for breakfast. To top it off the pretty Comms. girl, Becky, who she'd had up for 'dinner' two nights previous, runs out. Floods of tears. Great. Just great. Now everyone knew she was putting it about like a two-credit port whore on rent collection day. Miranda, the prissy bitch, sipped her carrot juice; making some internal adjustment to become somehow even more the consummate personification of smug. To hell with them all! Privileges of command. Shepherd needed to see something get killed, stormed out to find Zaeed and see if he fancied going planetside and let Grunt off the leash for sport.

/ Nope, can't keep up any more of that ****. Nearly finished now. Still greatly enjoying it. Although the less enjoyable aspects are amplified over the game's long duration. Space travel and mining are utterly pointless and immersion-breaking. Can't get my head around the manufacture of state-of-the-art tech. from these unrefined ores. And do not like spinning my tiny ship around that 2D map, buying petrol etc. Better just to have a short cut-scenes taking you to the destination directly from the missions list, I reckon. Combat is also too straighforward for an RPG. I've rarely had to use the pointers to arrange my squad strategically as most enemies are down before you need to. Also, the control you have over your squad's special abilities is under-done. Either full auto (in which case they fritter away their special powers on any minor threat) or full manual. Some kind of pared-down FFXII gambit system would have been better. Still, some fabulous characterization, stories and scenarios. Loved the tricky moral questions and acting of the

Mordus genophage/rescue mission in particular, as well as his breaking into Gilbert and Sullivan.

Shadow Broker also excellent. And the

Jacob's dad/Heart of Darkness kind of story.

The DLC is so brilliantly integrated that I think I'll probably end up waiting for ME3 GOTY to come out.

    Back to adventure!

LMFAO... Golgo... WTF?! ME2 in an psudo erotic fiction variation... You've made me see Thane in a different light... You need to start writing for the site. I can imagine your game reviews would be more about your vivid imagination than the game

Aye totally agree with you about the DLC, I dunno how I could have played it without the added stuff... It's almost like they made the game in its entirity and systematically stripped it down to maximise profits...

What, there's another way of seeing ME2? Lol.

Damn, mopping up these last few missions is taking me forever...decided I want a Mordin plushie, though, if they're available. The most well-written, rounded and humorous character I think I've ever encoutered in a game. Pee'd meself

when he jokingly came onto my slut-Shep!

Need to go through this on Hard still.. and just picked up the arrival dlc too. It's a great game but my last foray into the hard mode left me with a gaping ragged bleeding hole.

Just started playing the PC version of this. Imported my ME1 data over (2 playthroughs mr Nasty and mr Nice Guy) and it's good to see decisions made in ME1 already having an impact. I'm looking forward to see more implications based on what I did before. I did get stuck on scenery and have to restart though.

I tried out the 360 demo to compare and there's quite a difference. The graphics on PC are a bit better but it's the framerate and controls that really make the difference. It's so slick and smooth on PC whereas on 360 it feels like it chugs and occasionally brakes up, and aiming feels a lot more accurate and faster on PC too.

              Just did the

Geth mission after waking up Legion.

That caught me off-guard, big time. And then

resolving the spat between Legion and Tali

. Such a clever game, always throwing-in unexpected and morally challenging scenarios. Just amazing. / Thinks back to play-thru of Infamous 2

Have you seen him singing yet? If not youtube it, it`s hilarious Agree with you that he`s one of the best characters I`ve come across in any game.

Just finished Mass effect 1 last weekend after playing mass effect 2 first (bad mistake). Mass effect 2 is clearly the better game, far more polished and has to be one of the best or not the best group of characters i`ve seen in a game. Also has some of the best voice acting to (far better than 1 which was extremely wooden at delivering lines)

Yeah Hodge, saw that in-game. Loved it. Couldn't find any Mordin plushies or action figures anywhere so I made one out of my son's Lego. Don't know where I'm going with the mouth there but I think it's a decent first attempt. He is perched triumphant on the rubble of a vanquished empire. Note cunning foreshortening to give impression of battle-damaged cranial horn.

Well, that's that then. Finished with about 65 hours on the clock. Take away approximately 15 hours for lifts/loading (PS3) and mining, leaves 50 hours of terrific adventuring and flirting.

Last missions did my schwad in a bit. Restarted umpteen times, trying to get crew through intact. Apparently

the ultimate Krogan/walking tank cannot command a fire team and hold off Collector onslaught without dying feebly, but pretty boy Jacob can do it with ease.

Loved the end-boss. Had to laugh. Clearly someone at Bioware has fond memories of
                    .

Very impressed with the way you could continue interracting with characters in the post-game scenario, getting their reflections etc.

Decided to stick it to Cerberus in the end. Had enough of them.

Characterization, world detail, moral complexity and scenarios obviously the main plus points. Straightforward combat and team management (for an RPG, on default difficulty), mining, space 'travel' and vehicle missions (Firewalker, astonishingly ****) the main negatives. Still, enjoyed it immensely. Like many players I feel that my Shep is somehow uniquely mine, and I look forward to bringing the crazy slag into ME3. Wonder if I can find
for my lizard boyfriend, or whether we'll ever get to see

                    that desert.

Probably wouldn't be such a bad thing if he
as it would mean my Shep could start slutting around again with the girls.

That said, will probably be holding off until GOTY edition as having got almost complete package on ME2 (apart from Arrival) I can't get my head around having huge chunks of crucial and very exciting DLC plot/characters missing (Overlord, Shadow Broker, Zaeed and Kasumi) from the launch version.

Reviews say Arrival is fairly poor but I'm tempted to get it for completion's sake. The prospect of seeing the inside of a Batarrian prison is quite appealing. Anyone have any views on it?

FINALLY started this today, having spent the last 18 months putting it in the drive then changing my mind, piecing together all the DLC during sales...except Arrival which I grabbed today.

8 hours of my afternoon disappeared getting hardly anything done, mining mainly! Only done a couple of quests yet my ship is super pimped already thanks to my piles of minerals!

Finding out who Archangel turned out to be actually had me grinning...didnt realise how much effect the first game had on me either.
                      Great Stuff!!

It's things like that which people who never played ME1 are gonna miss out on. There's a lot more too besides and also you wouldn't have been able to influence the story of ME2 through the decisions made in ME1. That's something I anticipated seeing and enjoyed seeing the results. I don't think the story (up to where I've played) would seem anywhere near as interesting either. So far there's been very little said about the Reapers. When Shepards recruiting he doesn't even mention them even though there the real threat to the galaxy.

I've gotten stuck on scenery 3 times so far and to reload each time. Anyone else had that problem?

I have had it three times...once randomly on Grunt's loyalty mission...and twice on the wrecked ship you explore. Annoying but as a result I save pretty regularly....oh, and 360 version btw.

Im on the the PC version with the latest patch. It's also crashed a couple of times, but not a big problem with the save system.

Starting to get a lot more interesting now

Samara and Tali's missions particularly. I really like the twist that you can kill Samara and switch her with Morinth. What implications would that have for ME3? Also getting a Geth on board that might actually join you.

Seems like there prepared to take some major risks in the fight with the Collectors/Reapers. What there up against is so powerful and what's at stake so great that they have to take advantage of everything they can get and recruit the best of the best no matter what.

Completed my first playthrough, I think it's the best single player focussed game I've played this gen so far. I'd give it 8/10

Yo guys, I know that this is an old thread... but I've been really itching to play Mass Effect having never played the first one, but alas I have seen that the original Mass Effect is still exclusive to the 360! So... what I'm worried about is jumping into the second one with having no clue of the story... is it still worth getting number 2 if I have no idea of the story? Is the story dependent on you knowing what happened in the first Mass Effect? Cheers guys!
