The horned ridges and scales along the underside of the Drell's penis made for some deeply unpleasant chafing. It was...odd. Not that she had much right to say what was 'odd' in the matter of men's penises, having scant knowledge of that part of a man's anatomy. Maybe they were all like that? Whatever, she was crying 'em off. Any hopes she had of keeping her liaison a secret were blown clean out the galaxy when he came, inflating his throat like a giant pink whoopee cushion and letting out a mating call like a dreadnought siren-ing battlestations that rattled the whole damned ship, stem to stern. Funny looks, nudges and giggles in the canteen at breakfast, after stopping by the infirmary for some cream. Joker looked like he was going to do one of his 'funnies' but Shepherd shot him a look that let him know he'd be in for an airlocking, quick-smart. Krios slinks down half asleep yawning in her bedroom slippers and sits opposite, fluttering his nictitating membranes coyly over whatever goop it is lizardmen eat for breakfast. To top it off the pretty Comms. girl, Becky, who she'd had up for 'dinner' two nights previous, runs out. Floods of tears. Great. Just great. Now everyone knew she was putting it about like a two-credit port whore on rent collection day. Miranda, the prissy bitch, sipped her carrot juice; making some internal adjustment to become somehow even more the consummate personification of smug. To hell with them all! Privileges of command. Shepherd needed to see something get killed, stormed out to find Zaeed and see if he fancied going planetside and let Grunt off the leash for sport.
/ Nope, can't keep up any more of that ****. Nearly finished now. Still greatly enjoying it. Although the less enjoyable aspects are amplified over the game's long duration. Space travel and mining are utterly pointless and immersion-breaking. Can't get my head around the manufacture of state-of-the-art tech. from these unrefined ores. And do not like spinning my tiny ship around that 2D map, buying petrol etc. Better just to have a short cut-scenes taking you to the destination directly from the missions list, I reckon. Combat is also too straighforward for an RPG. I've rarely had to use the pointers to arrange my squad strategically as most enemies are down before you need to. Also, the control you have over your squad's special abilities is under-done. Either full auto (in which case they fritter away their special powers on any minor threat) or full manual. Some kind of pared-down FFXII gambit system would have been better. Still, some fabulous characterization, stories and scenarios. Loved the tricky moral questions and acting of the
Shadow Broker also excellent. And the
The DLC is so brilliantly integrated that I think I'll probably end up waiting for ME3 GOTY to come out.
