I am looking to get my female Shepard some Miranda action. Is it possible?

Nope! Very little femme on femme action possible.
I feel for Bioware - I mean, they're entitled to do whatever the hell they want and have no obligation to placate horny SF nerds - but at the same time I partly wish they'd either treat same-sex relationships a little better or drop them. Liara was a blatant "well, she's not an actual woman" tactic to try and placate angry conservatives (yes, I'm convinced of that despite the whole Fox News thing) and it's amusing that the only DA character you can bite the pillow for isn't human either. And now they have this laughable 'So sorry, Shepard is hetero by choice' announcement. It's hardly the end of the world (being a straight male I'm not going to complain that much!), and credit I guess for not doing anything openly insulting, but my irritation has nothing to do with nudity or the lack thereof - the way they do it just continually strikes me as a bit... clumsy.

The sex isn't clumsy, but it does have a naivety to it which is oddly charming. Clearly they are still testing the waters with sex and relationships stuff and it'll take a while before a games has sex which seems unforced (pardon the expression).
I subscribe to William Goldman's theory that nobody knows anything, and Bioware had no idea how the sex scenes in any of their games would come across (sorry!).

Not sure if naivete is the word I'd use but I think I understand - and agree with - what you're getting at. On the one hand what has been included for the relationship quests (and the end result) seems relatively believable, is fairly sweet and quite moving at times. On the other hand, like I've already said, there are any number of potentially painful emotional conflicts, problems, difficulties etc. which anyone could see would obviously crop up between Shepard and (whoever), which the game simply doesn't cover in any depth if it even goes into them at all.
I can see why Bioware would want to streamline things... obviously they've only got so much money and time to write and record dialogue, to say nothing of planning, directing and animating etc. for a hundred different lovers' tiffs! But there are some things - some dark areas - they miss out on that just seem too obvious not to have been included, development man-hours be damned.

I bet there are some 'hot coffee' type scenes on some Bioware devs machines somewhere.
I've just finished the first run through and am left feeling generally disappointed overall due in part to the hype and expectation.
I think the storyline lacks depth compared to ME1, there are too many bugs such as when
during Samarra/Morinth endgame when the audio disappeared so I missed it
and this is due to there being too many characters to voice and animate. It was also a bit too easy on normal.
What happened to the reapers? For a force that had devastated the galaxy to have been taken down by a group of 10. They hardly made an appearance.
Where is the option to remove your helmet when wearing armour?
Who thought it would be a good idea to replace the Mako with remote planet scanning? An automated scanning upgrade anyone?
At the moment there is more that I dislike than like.
It has been mentioned the ME3 will be released earlier than the ME1 --> ME2 gap so I am hoping that this is just a scene setter for ME3 and this will be more RPG leaning.Last edited by smouty; 11-02-2010, 07:11.

You select if you want your helmet on or not while wearing armour by using the console in your cabin I think, though obviously if you need a helmet on for the mission you always wear one.
The scanning gets boring but its nowhere near as boring as trying to drive up the same tiny rock unsucsessfuly for 30 minutes in the Mako.
I hardly noticed any bugs at all during my time with the game besides my characther getting stuck in a few places, but the game saves constantly so no big deal.
As for the
reapers, did you not notice the five thousand ships aproaching you at the end of the game?
.
I do agree with you about the story though, it was pretty much a set up for the third game.Last edited by rmoxon; 11-02-2010, 11:47.

you basically are fighting the Reapers all the way through, given they're, you know, controlling the Collectors. The Harbinger's voice is a Reaper, after all.
I much preferred the story this time around, but even so I still have to admit that yes, it's The Empire Strikes Back. (But everyone knows that was the best Star Wars movie anyway.)

At the end of Samara's loyalty quest did anyone
let Morinth live instead of Samara? How does that pan out? After seeing the scene the first time it twigged that the daughter would replace the mother given the opportunity so I had a quick look to see where the story went. Once she returns with you to the Normandy it seems she becomes quite intent on having Shepard all to herself. I'm curious if her nature has any effect on the end game.

while you can now romance her if you sleep with her it, well, ends the game there and then, let's say.

not an entirely unexpected way to hit the game over screen considering her nature, but I'm surprised Bioware let you go through with it. Silly Shepard
