We had a good session tonight, but I needed a break. Some amazing kills, cannot believe how close some of our attacker matches where to the end.

I got my copy on friday and have given it a run-out over the weekend and have been less than impressed. Firstly EA took the servers down on friday and saturday for maintenance? Who thought that would be a good time to do server maintenance? Idiots.

As well as this over the weekend (when the servers were apparently up) I've had the game hang during the search for games with no possible way to quit the search other than quit to the dashboard. I've also been in the middle of an actual match about to grab the last M-COM station and the game throw me back to the Xbox dashboard, not even the in-game menu... the f-ing dashboard.

So in that regard I am pretty pee'd off with the flaky quality of the game in general but I've perservered because I wanted to experience a few rounds. So far I've gone up to rank 4 and unlocked some motion detector thing for the recon class, ammo for assault and so on... nothing major but a few things.

The game though just seems sluggish as hell? I've ramped up the sensitivity on the controls to around 70-80% on the slide-bar in the options and it still feels like it's slow to respond when I turn, aim or do anything. All this while the server seems to be fairly free of lag, maybe a slight delay on collision detection? Is this how its supposed to be?

I've then got stuck in scenery about 15 times in various levels. This just running or jumping up terrain and getting literally stuck that I cant move and having to wait for someone to kill me. Or thinking I can get up a small hill with a jump but no, I have to go around because that small incline is too high. What?

Being a bit level-headed... the sound is excellent and I've got no issue with the squad mechanics or the spawning on squad members (even though spawn-camping appears to be a valid tactic in this, everyone was doing it over and over). The gun play is serviceable but seems to be less visceral than I was expecting with death animations being pretty basic? All the vehicles seem to perform well and as a whole I get the balance across the classes.

What I am really not liking is there seems to be a lack of precision across everything? It seems to do a lot of different things decently but not perfect. Am I missing something here? And before anyone mentions it I've watched the how not to be a noob video and get all the mechanics of how to play as a team and I am pretty proficient at FPS games in general... but I am just not getting how this is supposedly a great MP game right now.

Worse still I've seen what I would consider glitching in this where the opposing team seemed to be miraculously gaining respawn tickets whenever they were about to lose? We're talking being down to 10-15 or so and then suddenly having 40? What is going on there?

Not dissing anyones opinion here guys, this is just my own based on a frustrating few sessions with the game. Any advice help or knowledge sharing appreciated.

I have only just got off! Full 8 in the party ended up in one game, superb fun. May take day or two off and start on Mass Effect though.

When the attackers destroy the M-Comm they get their spawns back...think its back to the full amount after the pair are destroyed. 75 I Think. Normally too busy trying not to die tho

Nope it wasnt that mate... they didnt manage to destroy anything. It was weird, they literally held off attacking for a minute and suddenly they had more tickets. The match went on for at least twice as long as any other match I've played in because of this as they seemed to repeat this feat over and over, even though we had them pinned and going nowhere.

I think you gain a ticket for using the defibs, could be some cheating going on...? Blow yourself up, revive...+1!

I think you don't gain a respawn ticket, you just don't lose one when you are revived. I could be wrong though...

it certainly gets better when you open more stuff up.
i got the mortar attack for recon recently - great fun raining down bombs when you know a squad of snipers are hiding on a roof top.

I'm sure I read either in the manual or in-game that a defib gets you a ticket back. Read into that how you will.

I've only played with randoms so have been pretty much playing it on my own. Still having an utter blast with it though. Cracking fun, despite constantly losing

funny moment - 5 of us in a helicopter on the way to attack there base , I was hanging out the side of the chopper with a standard rifle, next we get shot at, and being an engineer I get out my power tool to repair the chopper, but then sundenly me having a clumsy moment I accidently pressed LB and I threw a grenade into the chopper. next minute BOOM the vehicle health shoots down from 100 to near nothing , smoke everywhere and then everybody parachute's out the helicopter in panic , epic fail but still quite funny

I simply cannot stop singing the praises of this game!

I was reading this thread and it reminded me of one of our squad's battles the other day, Tony and Jeff in the heli and myself and Paul jumping out, parachuting right in to set the charge and defend like mother****ers, all the while getting air support from the aforementioned people in the heli.

I think I'm gonna sell MW2, there's absolutely no way I'm gonna play it again with this out now! It's a superior game in almost every way.

I tried to play MW2 multiplayer again and I just can't do it, find it dull now. Really regret paying £40 on Steam now

Finally got the badge for playing 24 hours online and I still havent touched the single player Not many more pins to get before i've gotten them all at least once.

I find that there is enough of a difference in the gameplay of MW2 and BC2 that I can still enjoy both at the same time. MW2 is like the console equivalent of Counter Strike, and Bad Company 2 is like Battlefield 2 on PC but better.

Both are very good games in their own way.
