I've always preferred Battlefield over CoD for MP goodness so am pleased to see the multiplayer receive so much praise. May have to pick this up next week.

I see the 360's multiplayer servers have cocked up again

We are aware of a drop in players on Xbox 360, EA is investigating and we will get the game back for you ASAP.

Oh and people's stats are getting wiped as a result. Mine did vanish but reappeared in the end (no great loss if they went totally as I was still level 1), but it sounds like people are getting it much worse and they've seemingly gone for good

Managed to get a game or two in before it went tits up. It really is soooooo much better than MW2's multiplayer as far as I'm concerned. It's typical Battlefield action - stuff blowing up, crazy scenes of people riding around on quads and being strafed by attack choppers... it all makes MW2 look dull and very rigid in comparison.

Still finding my feet with it (been a long time since I played MP on the first) and not touched single player yet, but I love the diversity on offer. My first few game was a pissing contest between a set of other snipers the other side of the map. It was a good example of how being a sniper in Battlefield requires you to act like one - something I found lacking in MW's multiplayer.

The second game was me and a team mate hijacking a tank and storming into their base, blowing up everything in sight. Literally chaos as we levelled buildings and enemies in a glorious show of Russian might.

had a quick go at the multiplayer, died 10 times in a row (without even catching a view of my killer) before i managed to make my first kill. i can't remember such a chaos and so many quick deaths from the first game. don't know, something seems wrong here, or i just had a very bad game.

EA games always seem to have problems on week 1 online. 1943 and I remember Burnout Paradise had problems.

I haven't had a chance to play this online yet though. Really need to as FFXIII will take up a lot of my time.

Sorry guys, it's my fault. The servers going down coincided with Jamie making me buy it.

The single player mode is definitely worth checking out just for the banter between Bad Company alone. Oh and it looks pretty amazing too, they sure know how to design a beauty.

Multiplayer is definitely one step beyond from MW2. I don't see myself tiring from the maps anytime soon which is definitely one thing which happened to me with MW2.

Just got this, noticed it patched straight away (360). So whats the general vibe, is it worth playing online at the moment as it is, or is it screwed?

Not putting a downer on things, its just that so few games are worthy of playing on the week of release anymore, you have to wait 4-6 weeks generally...

I played multiplayer thursday night 1 day before release and it was always full of people.

Sat down tonight to play this for the first time. Connection issues

Gave me a chance to check out Single Player though, and its really good, so much better than the first game. Really liked the lip-synch and the general graphics are pretty wow, especially the helicopters I thought, at times, look photorealistic.

Even the single player holds well against COD 6. I must say I for one am enjoying Bad Company single player than COD 6. Only gripe I have with it is the cutscenes every 5 mins.

Oh snap, the multiplayer is the sheeeeet!!!! Why does nobody camp out in the cave with the mechagodzilla in it? Its blates best spot for spotting fools and using the deathray!!1

Leveling up in MP is S-L-O-W. Is there any other way of getting more weapons? Its terribly unbalanced at the moment, everyone is about level 11+, which by my calculations means they either don't have a job or a life, or have been playing non-stop since about Wednesday.

Can you gain XP/Level up in private matches in this?

I doubt it, but it'd be ace if you could as at the moment, even though the game has only officially been out for 48 hours (ish) people are already miles above my paltry level 1 status and have lovely weapons.

Not to mention the collectors editions came with a bonus weapon that is pretty good!

I was just getting into the single player campaign and then...it ended. Disappointed with how short it is, haven't tried MP yet though so hopefully it will redeem itself with that!
