Nah, if you see them just point your crosshair in their general direction and hit "Back" (360) and they will show up on your team-mates radar for a little while.

I am not sure if it was a bug, but it certainly was very picky to if he was alerted or not. certainly you would have hoped they would have toned it down to make it a fun free stealth kill but no they wanted to make it really unsatisfactory.

Seems all their effort went into multiplayer, which shows because it's great fun.

Was this the "wait for the thunder" bit?

You, errr, do know that you have to wait for the thunder to sound and then pull the trigger?

            I, errr, do.

I did that bit with the actual sniping first time. That was piece of piss because if the lightning wasn't enough of a hint that thunder was coming, Haggard repeatedly telling me to take the shot made it impossible to feck it up.

I'm talking about the bit just before that with the sentry in the sniping position. The Sarge tells Marlow to do it quietly and the prompt comes up to use the knife.

No matter what I did it would set off the flares. I must have heard that music slow down into killing time at least half a dozen attempts and no matter what it kept failing. I figured it had to be glitched so restarted the checkpoint and it worked first time. Something had broken with it so it was definitely a bug.

Oh yeah, I remember that bit. Did it on my 3rd attempt, had to walk really slowly to get him!

Finished game today, was ok i enjoyed it. I like that it's not a serious game with plot twists every 5 seconds (MW2!!!).

Only had a quick go on multiplayer the other day, wasn't over keen which is a shame as i've loved the other BF games online, will stick with it though as i'm hoping i'll and it will improve, hoping i just need to level up a bit and learn the maps, and avoid bloody snipers!!! lol

I'm looking forward to unlocking the spotting gadget for the Recon class. I assume it automatically marks the targets when see them through the scope. In Bad Company, enemies would automatically be spotted for all to see if you were close enough to them and looking in their direction, but never when you spotted them through the sniper scope from far away, so this gadget is a welcome addition.

So...maybe just me being **** at the multiplayer, but...the medic class is absolutely gimped in comparison unless you can rank up very quickly, right? Snipers start with camo and snipers, yet medic starts with a ****ty full automatic and...well, that's it, no actual medic stuff!

Atrocious weapons and no perks of any kind, I've managed an hour of play now and have unlocked the health packs, but every time I've picked up other peoples gear and thus changed class, I've been far more succesful!

Some classes start with C4, Rocket Launchers. If a tank comes near me as a medic, I've no chance but to run and hide, nothing else you can do!

I'm finding it VERY hard going at the moment, still Level 1 after 1 hour 14 mins of play, though I've not managed to play with too many friends at the moment and all I've encountered is random people running everywhere fighting for themselves.

I wonder, do people just not understand the game? Why are they playing this online? I got so frustrated that at one point I was "John J Rambo-ing" at a same-team tank as he drove away from me...me just stood there realising I had to trek all the way back to the action as he'd taken the last vehicle and ****ed off!

I can see the potential though if I get playing with friends, but I wanna be a medic and it seems utterly gimped to me, and I'm close to quitting and changing to a recon or engineer.

Oh and the matchmaking is hilarious, level 1 with 1 hour of play against a level 12 sniper who just demolished everyone.

Great game though, but feels like it's gonna be one I only play with friends.

Levelling up is slow and matchmaking is ****e, no doubt.

I've stuck with it though, leveling up a little bit now and getting a bit better at it in the process. Its tough going though and unfair a lot of the time, but on the flipside its a challenge.

Pretty much. People are idiots for doing this and they've been doing it in every Battlefield game I've ever played. Making sure you always join a squad so you can spawn on team mates will help sort this out and avoid the long distance treks.

Best bit was yesterday when a guy on the opposite side had hold of a tank - he burst into the compound we were defending to get to the objective and then bailed out the tank to plant the bomb. That was dull enough in itself, but I expected the tank to keep firing from a team mate inside. No, he had gone it alone with his baffling display of Grand Theft Tank.

                        So I took his tank.

I took it and drove over him before he'd planted his charge and then spent the remaining time of the whole round pummelling his team mates as they charged down the hill in every quad bike, or tank they could muster.

No wonder I was top of that round

Hate to "pick" on your post but I it is kind of funny to see complaints about no perks when people were complaining about the inclusion of them in Modern Warfare 2 a while back. If I remember correctly some people wanted a stripped down online shooter with little or no perks and, well, Bad Company 2 is offering that exact thing.

Again, sorry to "pick" on your post but I do find such things rather amusing. Gamers are hard bunch to please and, boy, do they love a good moan.

I'm only complaining about the lack of perks in comparison to the other classes though mate.

The medic has nothing "medic" about it whatsoever to begin with. That's akin to having the recon class start with a shotgun to me.

Yeah the medic does seem a little rubbish at the start, but it doesn't take that long to unlock the first set of goodies. Are you always playing in a Squad? You shouldn't be left stranded in your base too often unless at the start of the round or your squad gets destroyed. If you are a medic sit back a bit if you can, you'll earn more points by helping the team than doing the killing (and remember to use the Back button to 'spot' enemies, far too few people do this!).

That said, it is a common issue with Battlefield games that people just drive off leaving your stranded. At least in this people aren't teamkilling to get the tanks!

Well I've never seen anything quite like the sight earlier on this evening of our very own EvilBoris lacing a helicopter with C4, crash landing straight into the enemy base with almost pinpoint accuracy and then detonating it in a fiery hellstorm.

With him then strolling casually out of the flames and wreckage like the T-1000.
