Yeah, I got my copy a few days ago. Played the opening section, and waking up in the hotel.

It looks well on course to being one of the best 'bad' games I've ever played, and in many ways it doesn't seem bad per se, just the product of someone's ambitions wildly outstripping the resources they've got available - yet still shining through regardless. The dialogue, the way the gameplay mechanics are set up and the direction is far too accomplished to be outright awful. It actually reminds me of Alpha Protocol, mechanically. Weird, half-broken games made by very clever people who can't quite get their act together.

Looking forward to playing more, and I've got no complaints re: that eBay seller earlier in the thread, if anyone else was thinking of buying from him. (Am I allowed to say that? )

Hmmm... same as or a day earlier, I can't remember exactly. It was either on the day I posted earlier in this thread or just after. Guess you've just been unlucky with the post?

In the hospital for the morgue cutscene right now - wasn't sure when to start freeroaming, so I thought I'd follow the story some more - and oh God the signs are amazing. I know it's easy to laugh at Japlish, but come on;

Okay, that's the first thing to actively piss me off about it; I guess it's partly my fault what with playing the import and not paying attention earlier, but still - if you don't choose to carry a type of item with you, everything you pick up of that item magically goes straight to your item box and you can't actually use it? Seriously? Even Resi didn't pull that nonsense. I just lost two hours of play in the lumber mill because I couldn't understand where all the medkits I was picking up had actually got to. I really should have quit back to the save point when I first had the thought, but I wanted to keep playing, damn it! Bah.

That's not right. Square puts the item in your pocket, and triangle puts it in the item box. You can only hold a certain amount of items and then you'll get told that you can't take it with you. You can tell by the dull beep you hear.

Really? But I don't remember a square prompt ever coming up. I'll give it a shot, though. Like I said, I realised it had to be at least partly my fault, and I am still liking it a great deal.

Just got out of the hospital and i'm at the beginning. Whats the best thing to do and weapons & items to get? Loving it, making me laugh out loud.

You wanna head to the milk barn and buy map a. That'll net you the infinite mp5. You can do the entire game with it if you're careful. Find all 7 bones asap too.

Whats everyones routine on this? Is it best to waste most of the time you have on missions etc, everytime i meet up with george and that chick they are always pissed at me. :P

I've actually gone far too far into the main story without doing a single side mission. I dunno, it just... felt really urgent, for some reason! It's more a compliment than anything else - I just really wanted to keep the plot moving.
