The characters all have this massive list of converstations so often it's relevant to what you've been up to. If you had chatted to them earlier, they would have said something different. It's just so mental.

As for what Zach is or not, it's been discussed a couple of times in this thread. It all becomes clear though. ish.

Some of the dialogue is fantastic. York's sampling of a

      turkey, jam and cereal sandwich

in the A+G Diner was just so funny.

Was anyone unfortunate enough to fail the time-limited, apple based puzzle in the gallery? The resulting cut-scene was the stuff of nightmares.

So many talking points in this.

Had my first rage at the shooting mechanics. They don't hold up so well when you're up against something with fancy-shmancy attack patterns. The more I play it, the more I wish the shooty bits weren't there. Nothing wrong with 'em, s'just the rest of it is so, so brill.

Are you talking about those things that hang from the ceiling? They are super easy to kill - just time consuming. If you can't figure it out:

just run past them and blast them in the back.

What happened with the apple puzzle? I passed it in the knickers of time, but was crapping myself. Thank goodness I passed it.

So who has finished this then? Did anyone else find it incredibly emotional? I found the ending of Red Dead Redemption quite moving, but it's nothing compared to the complexity and sheer impact of this - best videogame ending of all time for me.

Yeah, what happens? He goes mad or sommat right?
            Kept you waiting, huh?

Bingo, and in the most terrific of ways. My words won't do it justice, but yeah...

The purple mist sends York mad. The camera zooms in on him with his back turned. Also he is making noises much like Animal from The Muppets. He slowly turns to the camera covered in weird markings and gradually pulls the most unsettling face I ever done seen.

Maybe it's on youtube, but it's so loopy I didn't fancy looking myself.

Yeah. Thems the ones. I stood still most of the time, that's probably where I went wrong. Figured it out eventually, mind.

I just came in here to tell you that:

I am very particular about my biscuits.

Finished this a coupla nights back and loved it so much that I already miss settling down for the night to play it. I've just moved on to Assassin's Creed 2. Which is polished, fairly enjoyable, but man, so very soulless in comparison.

The attention to detail in the plot and characters was pretty amazing really. Upon finding out who the murderer was, I thought of all the little clues that were there that I'd thought nothing of initially. I loved the final flashback to

York's father shooting his wife and then himself, and how differently he pronounces that line o' dialogue compared to the earlier flashbacks.

Brilliant touch, and the closest a game's come to tugging at my heart strings. Whatever they are.

The whole Zach thing was ace too. Brill device for keeping the player informed and tightly bonded with York.

I dunno, probably rambling here...But compared to something like Red Dead Redemption, where I felt the plots juicy bits were just lazily withheld, Red Seeds gives a really strong impression that you're moving the story along all the time. Even when you're just doing a bit of shopping, or uh, collecting human bones. Kinda like Shenmue, the story just seems to progress in a satisfyingly organic way.

Ugh. Starting to sound like a ponce I suspect.

                  In summary:

                  The Tits: 10/10

I agree with you so much. Anyone who enjoyed Red Dead Redemption etc should try this and see what an emotional story really is.

I feel like I have been missing out, I am on Episode 1 chapter 6 and haven't come across any side missions.

Far too focused on the story so far.

Is it ok to explore and miss a deadline? What happens?

Love the theme music though. I want a rip of it.

Yeah I thought the little clues dotted around were great, it's funny how you never really notice them while playing though. I love all the easter eggs as well, like there being a character name for every letter of the alphabet and references to Swerys last game on PS2, Spy Fiction.

The side missions usually show by a laptop above a characters head most of the time, there are one or two that aren't as obvious though, it doesn't really matter if you miss a deadline as you can just redo it the next day.

So the day ticks over and resets and you get to keep your side mission progress?

Yes, occasionally you'll get a side mission that will only appear on certain days so you may have to wait a bit, or you can always reload a previous chapter, do what you missed and then carry on playing where you last left off in the story.

I didn't know that. I'll have to redo a few chapters!

It comes in handy for collecting all the trading cards as some of the missions to get them are effected by the weather on that day, thats how I managed to 100% it, you can't save in the chapter until the end of it though.

I used to replay the one where you have to meet Olivia at the back of the A&G Diner quite a bit as it allowed you to get a lot of side missions done and then to end the chapter to save just involved you meeting her before, I think 10PM which gave you plenty of time to get stuff done.
