Go on fuse, have a read of the following. I promise it won't ruin things for you, and you'll be dead happy I told you. Oh, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go oooon.

Don't feel too disheartened when Bob dies - it turns out he didn't really die, and it's all been a massive dream, since when Pam is in the shower he turns up and is actually ALIVE! Of course this means everything that happened between his death and the shower scene in fact only existed in her mind.

EDIT: for the record, the above is a spoiler to the TV series Dallas, not Deadly Premonition. I was in a silly mood when posting. Though that same shower scene has become legendary in film/TV/book/theatre/game circles as precisely how NOT to do a story.

Nothing in DP is spoiled, it's ace, go and play it.

Sorry if I spoiled the plot to 1980s TV series Dallas for you - I'd assumed everyone knew about the Bobby and Pam shower scene.

Only differences are the PS3 version doesn't have an English release, the story is voiced in full English and you shouldn't have much trouble doing the main storyline because of that but the subquests can be a problem as the descriptions are all in Japanese.

The 360 version also has online leaderboards for the mini games which the PS3 version doesn't have.

Well bugger me, after spending so much time today dodging spoilers, the game itself went and did it for me.

Top tip if you wish to avoid spoilers: DO NOT READ THE TEXT BY CLICKING ON THE TRADING CARDS IN YOUR INVENTORY

                Mumble grumble...

This is true. Actually, the game in many ways spoils itself if you have a keen eye.

I'm not going to say how, since by doing so I reveal it anyway. We should have a plot discussion thread - there's so much depth to this game.

Zavvi were doing it a pound cheaper but after reading some of the posts on here about resealed games and iffy service and having used Amazon tons of times, they looked the better bet

I've tried to shy away from the spoilers before playing this and tbf the good thing on here is that no one really gives anything blatantly away about games with spoiler tagging it so i've no idea what to expect from this.

I know NOTHING about this game but I've ordered it simply on positive word of mouth. I don't even know what genre it is or anything so whatever it's like it'll be a surprise

Well, you play an FBI detective. Thing is, if the player is a little too keen regarding his detective work, he'll solve the entire mystery before the game actually does any big REVEAL-O.

Heavy Rain-ish? I'll take my time with it anyway. I've got a stack to get through before hand

Better! Well, apart from the godawful combat.

But you can't compare the two games - like razors and raisins really.

Heavy Rain was hugely linear, whereas DP has a Shenmue style overworld with cars to drive and stuff. And the map shows every NPC at all times, since they have a daily schedule they attend to.

What I'm saying is, while the game leads you along a specific path, with plenty of side quests, if you did like me and went driving around, you might start to notice suspicious things which lead you to unravel the game ahead of time.

But if you want to, do it! It was a lot of fun seeing how well layered the game is. I mean, by the time you get to the end and go back, you'll see how ingeniously crafted a lot of things are. It'll be like - OH RIGHT! Now I see how and why that was like it was. Even though the first time you didn't really notice it.

Let me put it to you another way: when they arrested that German cannibal (in real life a few years ago), I'm sure his neighbours all thought - Ah! So that's why he was having all those meat barbecues. And we thought he was just enjoying the summer time.

                                EDIT:
