Me and Paddy came across a level that frustrates last night Episode 3-3. The one where you have to advance up the train and then beat the boss using a the massive gun. It's a good boss fight. You all work together loading the gun, energizing it, cooling it, rotating it, and firing it, whilst clearing the deck of the odd Akrid. However, the boss can knock you off the top by bumping into the train when you least expect it. This causes 500 of your team Battle Gauge to deplete. You start with 3000, so like 6 lives between the 4 of you. You can gain about and extra 4 along the way by taking Data Posts up the train (one resides at the boss fight back on the train). Last night we got to the boss in good health, but annoying knocked me about silly when he was nearly dead.

Will try to get this level out of the way today. Although I fear for recruiting first timers to the session

EDIT: I think the best tactic above if you're playing with friends would be keep one on the cannon seat who only comes off to reload (if the Akrid comes close then get back into the seat). Don't think you take damage from the seat. The rest of the team sit tight in the Cooling Room and do the odd shell run, but leave them as soon as they get to the gun floor and leave.

In single player, I think you can camp the gun seat and the AI will do most of the rest.

Hey Spags, Frank West is in the game somewhere. I saw a Lv.1 user using him. Saw some with a Servebot helmet too.

Really enjoying this especially the online versus. Must admit I was expecting unlocks left right and center, but at level 15 I've seen very few. Campaign must be where that's at. Fortunately that's been satisfying too, although I'm only as far as 1-3 and so haven't hit the parts reviews were complaining about. Looking forwards to getting some proper co-op going on it.

But Training Mode, really Capcom? Challenge Mode would have been a better name. I can imagine anyone approaching the Training Mode as a first timer to LP being really frustrated by it.

Right! Finally got to have a little blast last night and I'm loving what I've played so far. (360)

I warmed up by trying the training, and I agree with Riskbreaker that "Challenges" would've been a more suitable name. I got a little bit addicted to them, actually and really enjoyed working out the best routes to traverse them.

I then dipped into the multiplayer for a few rounds of Post Grab. I seemed to level up fairly quickly at first, reaching level 7 in just under half-an-hour. I've seen about 4 maps, the demo one, a gaming arena, a stormy beach and Neos (the anti-gravity space station).

The stormy beach was really atmospheric, the small arena was really intense and Neos was great fun with jetpacks and low gravity, but I got a little frustrated trying to capture posts when everybody else just seemed to be playing it like elimination, plus there was mech overload. It was my first time on each of these maps though, so I'm sure I'll soon know my way around better.

The controls are good, but not perfect, but that was the same for LP1. Sometimes you'll feel ace grappling around the place then other times your fella will get confused and melee a data post instead of activating it. I had a mech on my rump and the seconds wasted hitting a gun turret instead of climbing into it cost me my life and the post I was saving. Raargh!

Other than that, I'm loving it so far and I've not even started the single player yet. I'm a bit overwhelmed with all the stuff you can collect! Weapons, characters, body parts, nicknames (I'm "Scapegoat" ), there's a fruit machine, weapon codes and so on.

I hope that I and many others fall in love with this game, despite its faults, because Capcom have really spent a lot of time and attention to this game adding things like co-op, amazing graphics (it's breathtaking at times), collectables and giant enemies.

Finally managed to complete Episode 3-3. Some tips...

When you see the message 'One More Hit' (this appears when you literally need to hit Red Eye one more time), be sure someone is manning the cannon and it's loaded with a shell, as Red Eye spawns right in front of the train gaping and ready to chomp the who place in one! Shoot him in the gob before he snaps. You have a bit of time to do it, mind. When I first saw the message I took my time in the Cooling Room to do a spot of cooling, then...CHOMP!

You don't need to energize shells, but you will miss out on some extra oomph in your shots. Also, at the back, on the crane, you can find some piercing shells!

Also, press Square/X (360) button to reset the cannon to default position.

OR, take him out old skool by just shooting him with your guns.

                    Good luck.

Only played a couple of hours last night, but felt kinda dissapointed.

Not that i'm particularly great at these kind of games anyway, but in the first couple of campaign missions i couldn't see what the hell was going on and didn't really know what i was supposed to be doing.

Prologue B is pretty loooooong and booooooooring as well.
Reminded me of those old 'games' where you put a vhs tape in and it gave you the belief you were playing a game, whereas no matter what you do it didn't matter (since it was a tape lol).

Multiplayer is quite fun but it's annoying you can't seem to return fire when getting shot ?? (Unless i'm mistaken?)
Also the lack of lobbies is a real pain in the ass, don't know why they thought it would be a good idea to remove them since it worked fine in the first game.

Can't seem to play/find friends in multiplayer versus either??

Overall so far i don't think it's necessary a bad game, just dissapointing compared to the first one.

Exactly what I thought when I tried it last night. Was only having the quickest of goes on it though, and i'll try to put some proper time in to it tonight as I loved the first one. Lost planet one was great from the off though, so playing it up to the point you had to make the machine spin out of control was a bit disappointing for me.

Loved the first game but this is a bit all over the place! Been playing in co op on normal but its pretty tough going, its a game to be played in co op but never really get chance to get any tactics going as its a constant battle.

Played first 2 episodes now, hoping it gets better

My mate just got this. He'd already played the prologue before, joined my game from the start and played the game from a different starting point, then got the cheev when we got prologue cheev
