Yeah, having said that I actualy think the game probabaly wouldnt be anywhere near as frustrating if you could save it just before any kind of big fights (I dont want to save anywhere, I just want save points that are well implemented) but again this is somthing they didnt seem to want to improve from the first game.

Its one thing to have cheap boss fights, its another to have cheap boss fights that you have to spend 10 minutes traveling to get too again after youve died. Its just disheartening and its almost like the developers just dont want you to bother.

Part of the problem associated with that is the fact that you can totally run into a boss fight unexpectedly. Some of them aren't even in marked locations. On my second playthrough, I ran into a nasty fight with a
with not a hint of warning.

I actually like the save system and wouldn't have a problem with it except for that scenario. There are plenty of toilets and they're fairly well spaced and well marked on the map. But the unexpected nasty surprise can kill a lot of progress very quickly.

Well i think the save system works for most part becuase when you arent fighting bosses the game does actualy work in general, I dont understand why they couldnt design the game so that the boss fights were all next to toilets though, as you say there are plenty of toilets which makes it even more annoying when you have to travel for 10 minutes in between a toilet and a boss fight.

The firearms mince some psychos, such as the twins and the rednecks.

What level was your speed at when fighting Slappy? It really isn't that hard to avoid his long shots. If he really was standing still and just long shotting you why didn't you just LMG him to death? Sure he will use up all your ammo as he is resistant to firearms but it will still do him over.

Having spent the best part of the last 4 days on this I finished it today. Initially I really didnt like this, it seemed lethargic and awkward, as much as I loved the first DR I was almost set to give up on this until I decided to quit my current game and restart with the added bonus of keeping my levels.

For some reason, second time round the game really clicked. Maybe it was because I accepted its faults, (notably one where not all of the people you rescue transition between areas meaning you have to suffer two more eternal loading waits to progress with them), but I really enjoyed it the more I got into it. I managed to rescue 53 people on my first complete playthrough.

Ive never much liked the psychopath fights the original or indeed this sequel, and I often looked for the cheap option (like with the bike guy) just to make the fights as stress-free as possible. *re Slappy, the easiest way to get him was to visit the nearby gunshop and grab two sniper rifles, makes that fights a doddle.

Some of the cutscenes were amusing, LOVED the fact you can wear a dinosaur hat for example and it will appear during the cutscenes, made for some comical moments. Rebecca was uncomfortably hot, had to keep telling myself shes just a computer game character but it was hard not to as the umpteenth cut-scene focused in upon her heaving breasts..

The ability to combine weapons wasnt one I really explored much, I tended to use the baseball bat + nails and the fire axe + sledgehammer throughout.

Did overtime also earlier, and am now thinking of getting the new DLC, and maybe mopping up some acheivements or getting my character the 9 levels or so needed to reach 50. After a shaky start, I really liked this.

New DLC? Case West? Is it out? I never checked but there has been no talk here about it so I just thought it wasn't out. Or is the talk in another thread?

Yep, its out now for 800 points

Cool. I'll have to break that to the missus.

Its not actualy DLC is it?, its a seperate game as far as I know, like case zero was.

Will no doubt pick it up at some point whenever I feel like Ive played enough of the main game (Really cant see myself getting all the achievments though, cant be bothered doing things like going back through it and trying every peice of clothes on to find the ones I originaly missed).

It's an XBLA title - see the Console Arcade section below for what I think.

Frank West is still da man.

Shame that case west is very easy & pretty short, & the ending is unsatisfying as it teases at more but answers very little. However theres a lot of new stuff & i will enjoy multiple playthroughs to explore the enviroment & tease zombies as thats the bit i love the most.

It probably ends the way it does because there'll be more releases. Case Zero sold a bundle so if they think there's more money to be made they'll keep trying.

It probabaly makes them more money, plus they wont ever fix anything thats wrong with the game so they might as well just keep releasing more of these mini versions of it and make a fortune really.

I think I approve of the smaller case arcade games to be honest. As mentioned the main game tends to be too long winded with levelling up to even get that far in the main story. And if you want to do everything having to replay again and again. Case Zero was just about the right size to do all the little sub quests and enjoy the actual forced gameplay. The main game is just a frustrating spawling mess.

Downloaded the Case West a few days ago and played the trial. I will end up buying this at some point I can see. But I just got Assassin's Brotherhood.

Completed it now and the psychos in the second half of the game were alot easier than the ones in the first half.

This is nothing to do with the fatc that I have leveled up though, its mainly to do with the fact that they all seemed to just stand around and not do anything in comparison to the really unfair and manic attacks the earlier psychos had, all pretty strange really.

Still relaly enjoyed the game really, though seeing as I got the good ending first time out I think I will continue the story by playing Case West before I go back to this for another playthrough.
