My two cents on Fable 3
Loved the game from start to finish but............
There is no excuse for the bugs/glitches I recieved........
Jasper was mute from about 1/4 of the play through, John Cleese was the main voice over so this is an epic fail from lion head. All of my close friends on live had this bug too
Then I got the hold hands glitch ! So every quest after that I had to walk at 1 mile per hour to get anywhere if I needed to hold hands
Fable needs player save points or longer developer time !
Fallout new vegas was pretty bad for bugs but at least you could reload from the last save point !
For me the bugs and glitches are happening all to often now in AAA titles!
Time to step back think about why you make games and not just go after the $Last edited by Hype2k; 02-11-2010, 01:31.

Anyway, sayng all that, I'm sadly expecting Fable III to be a little disappointing and fall short of my expectations when I finally find the time to play it.

Just to reiterate what Prototype said, Moly has always surrounded himself with a very talented team of people. They are the ones who actually create the games. Your point about him being the inspiration and artistic drive is amusing too. Do you really think that he just thinks all this stuff up on his own?

I don't know too much about game development? I'll go a step further and say I know nothing about game development. As for Molyneux surrounding himself with talented people, that itself is a gift. Alex Ferguson doesn't go out on the pitch and score Man United's goals but as the man in charge of hiring and firing, building the team and pushing them to play to his vision, the glory is as much his as it is Rooney's, Scholes' or anyone elses.

The reality is somewhere between the two extremes. He doesn't design everything that goes in, but he doesn't design none of it either. There were something like 5 designers working on Fable3, but ultimately Peter always has veto on any given feature. Some of the craziest things that in there were from him. But a lot of the best bits are him too.

I know the bugs you speak of very well, and it's a shame you experienced them. I hope they didn't hinder your enjoyment too much matey.

Wanted to spend a few weeks fully immersing myself in Albion and exploring its finer details before passing judgment on this.
First off, many things that didn’t need changing have been changed and most those changes are for the worse. The decision to do away with all menu systems and the consequential inclusion of much-hyped Sanctuary means it now takes longer to do the simplest of tasks - from buying and selling to checking stats.
The combat has been stripped of its tactical depth and elegance thanks to the removal of the ability to stack spells. It’s only a small change but one with great gameplay ramifications, furthermore the superb ability to target individual body parts (like the head or groin) using ranged weapons has been removed. The way you can only interact with one NPC at a time now and only choose from a limited and pre-set number of expressions is a step backwards, as is the inability to perform expressions in real-time.
Albion in its third incarnation isn’t as beautiful or varied a place as it once was and some locations (like Aurora) feel out of place in the world. I don’t know if it’s down to the industrial setting, but the game doesn’t have that magical ‘fairytale’ feel of the previous games either - something that epitomises the series in my eyes. But not only is industrial Albion not as pretty or atmospheric a place as the Albion of old (nowhere is as charming as the beautiful hamlet of Oakfield, as hauntingly atmospheric as Wraithmarsh, or as enchanting as Bowerstone Cemetry), it’s not as fun a world to just hang out and mess around in either as the only activities outside the quest are chess, chicken racing and the mortar game – all of which are poor. There’s no fishing, no card or dice games, no shooting gallery, no Crucible-style combat arena, no statues to pose for and have erected, no silly name-changing, nothing really fun or rewarding.
The decisions the player is called on to make as King or Queen are pretty good and are often quite difficult to make but the effects those decisions have don’t carry much resonance neither on a visual or mechanical level. And in the final stages of the game when careful time and money management become the focus, the way months can suddenly pass without warning is unforgivable and can cruelly rob the player of deciding their own fate.
Still, for all it’s faults, I found it impossible not to succumb to the game’s charm, humour and artistry. Albion remains a beautiful world to behold - the graphics and art direction are stunning, the voice acting is top-notch, interacting with the citizens of Albion remains fun and entertaining, and there are some genuine laugh out loud moments (like hearing a gnome shout to Bryan “You’re a twat!” or being told by a certain gentleman “I feel like crying diamonds to throw at your feet”).
But, ultimately, by wrestling away so much of what Fable and Fable II laid in players’ hands, it feels limiting and a definite step in the wrong direction. Underneath all that beautiful and endearing style there just isn’t enough substance.Last edited by Charlie; 22-11-2010, 12:26.

So after about 30 hours of play my character now cannot fight or cast spells, does not have a run or walk animation and it is now impossible to enter the map room and so on. IT IS ****ING DISGRACEFUL THAT A GAME OF SUCH SUPPOSED CALIBRE CAN HAVE THESE KINDS OF FLAWS.
Basically I want my money back. It's a broken product and therefore like any other I choose to purchase I think I'm entitled to complain and receive a refund.
Lionhead, it's bloody shocking that you've let something like this hit the shelves. Greedy and Bastards are two words that spring to mind.

I think I've missed a couple of areas on the map - the clock is ticking down on my reign as King and I've only just wandered through Silverpine! I've been that busy with relationship quests and side quests, I've also noticed I am yet to travel to what looks like a mansion at the north of the map, and a coastal town on the southern coast of Albion.
How do I get to these? Been wandering round Silverpine but seem to go in a circle.
