I love this game, was level 7 last night, did two seasonal's (207 & Alfa) and I am now level 17!
The Alfa 8c is such a great car after Civics & 207's!

          Man that x2010 is twitchy!!!!

          Comment

That X2010 needs quick reactions. Small steering movements are the best. Too much steering and you are in the wall!

Talking of "in the wall|" have you noticed if your car's tail starts "wagging" there is no easy way to correct it. In real life if you lift off it should correct it. In GT5 if you lif off you are in the wall. Must be some slightly dodgy physics there.

Scythe glad to hear you are enjoying GT5. Some people don't seem to like the 8C. I like it though I have only ever raced it on Racing Softs. Finish those two current sets of Seasonal races and you will probably hit Lv 25. Back up your save to a USB Stick.

If there are any cars you are desperate for, send me a Friend Request and I can send one after midnight (allowed one Car Gift a day). I have over 700 cars, so I can duplicate (!) most things.

Be warned though, you can't use the F1 Ferraris for either A spec or B spec (I did know about this before buying them).

This Prize List may help -

After watching the vid I was surprised that the spokesperson didnt even get surprised of the crash or mentioned anything. Anyway that car needed better tuning. A lowered front would of prevented a disaster.

Best car I've driven so far though. I don't even have to let go of the accelerator all the way around. Ha!
I believe I fully upgraded the VW last night but I was only capable of around 64mph before I bounced off the rev limiter in 4th gear.

Did you change the gear ratios at all or do something different to achieve over 100mph?

You have to fit the fully Customisable Gearbox to that VW and adjust the top speed in settings. At the moment you can only adjust the top speed in a "fully" customisable gearbox.

Finally got a (nice shiny new) Mitsubishi HSR-II. I remember that car from an earlier GT. Rather than a single lift up spoiler for braking like the Veyron, it has two large flaps at the back. Straight line braking they both lift. Braking in a corner will raise the flap on the inside.

I have started collecting FGT's. I have the Blue UCD one and the Green (actually three colour with White and Red as well) from the last Online Dealer and the current Orange one. The advantage of the FGT's from there are that they have lower mileage and will develop more power with an Oil Change than the UCD one (an Engine Overhaul for 500K on that makes up the extra 10 HP!). I think with the FGT every HP helps!

Thanks for the advice Bassman, I thought the gearing was my undoing!

Cheers man, much appreciated, re: the 8c it's the first 'high performance' car I've used so haven't got a frame of reference but I thought it was great, used it with Race mediums I think and getting round corners with the tail out was immense!

I haven't read all of this thread, can you advise why I should back up to memory stick please?

                    I will add you later.

BTW that link goes to a porsche flip thread?

Always worth backing up your save in case you ever have any problems. I back up my main accounts every time they have a major change. If you ever needed to use another PS3 and are using the same account, the save will work anywhere with the same account.

Sorry about the link, I must have run out of space in the PS3 buffer and it got truncated...

Since no one else is doing it as far as I know, I'm going to start a list of prize cars and the events you need to complete to win them :) I'll start with the few I know off the top of my head and will edit the OP with any others you guys give me. Okay... *the (P) or (S) denotes Premium or...

                      That will be better.

do i have to complete the Formula GT championship (5 x 20 laps) in one sitting or can i save in-between?

You're going to hate the answer. But you might've known, as hardly anything makes sense in this game.

Anyway, I guess its time to call it quits. Did some roaming around in the X1 and actually hate the car so I won't bother with unlocking it. I don't think I'm going to waste time to grind to level 40, not with ME2 on the shelf. Seasonal events start to bore me to tears. Get into car, put racing tyres on it -> win event (tried sports, but simply lose while pushing it). Hoped for some offroad events by now, or some Prologue ish S-class PP races. Still sank some 150hrs into the game, so I prolly found it good somewhere.

PD, from pioneers to lagging almost a decade behind. I hope PD will listen to us whingers rather than the others, I want a decent GT6

Sony doesn't hold a survrey for nothing I'm sure?

In a somewhat unusual move, Sony asks gamers to "Help GT5 Stay on Top of Its Game" by participating in a special survey.

That X2010 is an acquired taste I thing and with a DS3 is an absolute nightmare to control. After about 20 laps of the High Speed Ring in one I finally managed to make a clean lap. It makes your initial contact with a Kart look very easy as the inputs required need to be just as delicate.

The last set of Seasonals got me to Lv 33... almost. Had to race at Rome a couple of times to complete the process. I am still mostly using that track to get money. I bought one of the Pescarolos so coffers are now standing at about 15.5 million after a few races.

I am still liking the Seasonals as they seem to be my easiest option when it comes to making moneiy and getting decent experience. I am still happy to repeat them on each account. I must be a hardore GT fan, especially as I would love to get hold of a Japanese version of the game.

The Schwimmwagen race is an interesting experience! Like others here I upgraded it to the max just to make the five laps go quicker. Unfortunately the end result was that whenever I took a turn even slightly too fast, the thing would start to tip over, then ride up on two wheels Bond style!

Didn't I read on here that someone was doing it without letting off the accelerator? You're a braver man than I!

edit - update to that, I was doing it on my main account and I actually managed to roll it over completely! Still won Got some awesome photos which I might upload later.
