I remember that Mitsubishi. Looks odd with the two flaps. Nicely animated though. Must keep a lookout for it.

I now have a nice metallic Green XFR!

Decided it was time for a complete System backup. Took 17Gb on my USB stick!

Had my first online sesh on this today it was fun. Raced with some Japanese who just messed around at the start bashing into each other. Plus some chatty Americans in there supped up road cars. Did not fair too well as my cars were too high hp or a bit too low. But it was good fun all the same. It's a shame the hp limit is not made more obivious before choosing cars.

Did some B-Spec. My driver D.Shimizu or as I call him (daft, donkey, douche etc) can only come 2nd in races it seems and is like a new born baby he needs me to hold his hand so much. He just smashes into corners alot when I tell him to up the pace.

Did up my Ferrari 458 Italia with carbon, light weight, engine etc, but still struggling to completley take over the XJs and Enzos in the MR Expert stuff. Once I put the gear ratios back to normal the acceleration was heaps beter though.

I think my PS3 will be bigger than that 17GB of storage but where did you buy the giant USB stick? Or do you use a HD?

Fortunately the USB stick was a free gift. 32 Gb is a very useful size to have.

The PS3 is one I have been using since my PAL machine died a couple of months or so ago. It is a chunky US 80 Gb Backwards compatible machine. Still downloading stuff that was on my old machine. Got most of my US stuff downloaded. Just some PAL add-ons to get now. Had to check some old emails to find my US and Japanese accounts. Passwords were less of a problem!

Now have a stupid number of accounts on the thing courtesy of GT5. Working through the No, 2 Seasonal races on all of them at the moment. Have some permanent Birthday Accounts. One with the '69 GT40, one with a Stratos Road Car, one a Shelby GT350R and finally (as of last night) one with a 1970 Gift Ticket that I am trying to translate into a Chevelle (probably!). Mostly seem to be getting everything else including 2J's (have some of those already!!).

Thanks Bassman, did the cup with ease, sure you dont want the car back?

You can keep it, as I said, I duplicated it, so no worries. If you want a change from grinding Indy for money, you can use it for an easy win in the Extreme European Championship Rome race and 99K (current prize money until the end of the month). A more accpetable grind in my opinion.

Now working through those Seasonal No.2 races before they expire in about 25 hours!

Has anyone got a rough list of the important cars to watch out for in the UCD?

Right now the Veyron has appeared which I saw a lot of chatter about earlier, is it one I should be buying while I have the chance?

              Comment

The Veyron is a prize for completing the GT World Championship

Here is the prize list from GTP...

Since no one else is doing it as far as I know, I'm going to start a list of prize cars and the events you need to complete to win them :) I'll start with the few I know off the top of my head and will edit the OP with any others you guys give me. Okay... *the (P) or (S) denotes Premium or...

Cars to watch out for. Various from the mundane(ish) to the rapid. Some I wanted...

VW Karmann Ghia (a classic, not keen on the colour but that can be changed)
                '76 Golf GTi (the original!)
                Impreza 22b Coupe (seems popular)
                '63 Corvette Z06 (?) Race Car
Tommykaira ZZ-II (the 4WD one and a must buy!)
Altezza Touring Car (upgrades to around 400 HP)
Integra Touring Car (haven't tried driving it)
Lexus IS200 GT-1 Race Car (originally from Korean GT4 - similar to Altezza Touring Car)
Lambo NOMAD Diablo JGTC (Comes in at almost 600 HP before upgrades)
Honda Life Step Van (or whatever... sllllooooowwww! People seem to want it!)

The Altezza, Integra and Tomykaira are something of a performance bargain. Decent power and handling for not a lot of credits.

Needless to say I have all of those, as I just bought the Corvette (not run it yet).

Ran out of PS3 buffer so couldn't edit.

I forgot the Lotus Carlton '90

Aussie Muscle - Holden Monaro and Holden Commodore SS (looks like a 4 door Monaro from the Specification)

Modern US - Pontiac GTO (US Monaro)

Being more modern the above may be good for drifting.

US Muscle - Chevelle, Charger ('70 and '71 versions), Shelby GT350R and the outrageous Plymouth (?) Superbird among others.

As far as the (shock! horror!) birthday cars are concerned I have the Chevelle, Shelby GT350R, '70 Charger and Superbird which due to the vagaries of the Engine Overhaul are better "new".

The Corvette C5-R Race may be worth a look when it turns up.

There are the Le Mans cars at around 4 million a time.

Another "classic" - Jensen Interceptor Mk III (?) turns up from time to time.

Other British Sports Cars - MGF, MG TC (revamped MGF), Triumph Spitfire, Lotus Elan, Lotus Europa and Jaguar E Type Coupe

Thanks for that, I managed to get the Tommykaira just now. I was given a Superbird '70 from the ticket I got for winning the A spec muscle event (the one that takes you to monza).

I also just picked up the hachiroku (version named after the initial D author) - wasn't going to, but noticed it has no entry on the max power stat, which got me curious!

I spotted some of the Aussie V8s in there the other day, which made me realise we didn't get Bathurst this time around

Loved that track. Any chance of DLC tracks in the future you think?

I forgot that Trueno SS (or whatever it was called). The one with the black hood/bonnet.

I suspect the only courses we will see are ones from previous GT games. There are quite a few that would be welcome such as Midfield and El Kapitan. There is the rumour about the Pikes Peak course as well, the one that was in GT2, presumably.

Not sure if the Escudo is worth a purchase as I have yet to drive mine.

Another one to watch out for... VW W12 Nardo Concept

Bassman, where did you get the Escudo, had hoped to have won one by now as I haven't seen it for sale?

                        Comment

It comes up for sale in the UCD from time to time (probably once per cycle).

Getting a nice selection of XFR '10 Colours from my accounts!

Finally finished all of the Seasonals that expire in the night. Then there will be a new set to contend with!

Do we know that for sure? It certainly seems likely, but... well fingers crossed.

Sigh my UCD always looks like Peckham Motors!!!

Oh thanks for the reminder on the seasonals.

Nice. Need to do a full system back up of my PS3 else will be downloading for eternity like yourself. I only use my Japanese account though mostly so maybe not too bad.

Just seen you can back up the GT 5 data now. In the patch that was released. Saw it in the Headlines topic for GT5 on here. Just put it on my USB stick took up 428kb so not too big. Did some travel photos too.
