The best thing about my experince of WW is that I know nothing about it... not party to any of the release hype, few pics and no trailers. Everything I see in the game is al fresh and new. There are so many games that have benefited from me taking this approach, Metroid Prime another example.

Great being able to get into a little masterpiece like this when its all a surprise Expect full creaming to begin shortly after I get back into my game tonight. The visuals are just so nice to watch. Fell in the water last night and was laughing with joy at how great it looked when swimming... the cartoon loveliness on show here is astounding!!

Seeing this thread resurected makes me want to play the game again. ^_^ Prolly will just carry on from my completed save file, and use the GBA cable i got with FF:CC...never did find out what that wierdo Tingle does, oh well, i will find out soon enough. I remember stop playing the game when the statue challenge came about....hmmm might as well do that.

While that bit was a bit of a dissapointment, its not that long tbh. All you need is

That warp thing you get from the frog in a hurricane.
and the map. Doesnt take more than an hour or 2.

A game like this cant be left unfinished.

Funny cos I never properly finished Ocarina despite loving it but found windwaker was great start to finish (even the triforce bit - i had the "tool").

Perhaps cos her indoors loved it and actually championed my playing it whilst insisting it not be plundered whilst she was out in case she missed anything.

        A phenomenal title.

        Told you so Mardigan 8)

Coincidentally I've been playing this again as well. I love little touches in the animation, like when you throw bait on the ground, and after a while seagulls just fly down and eat it. Brilliant stuff, it's these little things that make the game really beautiful.

            Where do you get bait??

At the first island there was this guy crawling about talking about placing bait to catch the pig but I didnt waste time looking for it... I just grabbed the ****er after a littel bit of a chase then popped its fat ass inside that womans fence. Am sure knowing how to get bait will help in future... do tell!!

Go chat to the dude in the boat - he will sell you some from what I can remember. You may need a bait bag first though. Sorry if thats wrong, not played it for ages...

Mardigan8 has inspired me to pick this back up--I didn't complete it first time round, but now I really want to. Here's the problem though: I'm lost, and don't know what to do. AAARGH!

I am currently in the wind temple with makar. I am in the big middle bit where the fan intermittently blows air straight up. I have the compass, the map, and the big key. But I don't know where the hell I'm meant to be gong--when I look on the map, for level B1 it shows that i haven't yet been to fight the boss (the rooms are still black on the map), but I can't figure out how I get to him. Anyone have any clues?

Also, there is something else that is bugging me: in one room off the big central one, there is an open treasure chest up on a raised platform. You have to go down below the room using heavy boots, then fight a floormaster, then move some blocks around and use one of them which has a spring to fire through the ceiling/floor of the room above. This takes you to the platform. So, I've obviously been here already to get whatever was in the open chest, but my map shows another chest. How do I make it appear?

So annoying! Whenever I was playing this game before, I found it (mostly) really relaxing and quite easy. Being stuck is t3h Suxx0rz.

I'm not sure if I know exaclty which part you're up to but I'll guess. Have you chopped the vines to the big hanging structure in the middle of the main room? It's a large flowery type thing I believe and once you get all the vines with your boomerang it falls through to reveal the basement level. And there you go.Hope this helps.

That sort of vaguely rings a bell. I certainly don't see any central structure now.

The weird thing is, my map shows 3 doors on the basement level, one of them which leads to the boss. But...there only appears to be 2 doors. Am I meant to be smashing thru a wall or something?

Hmmm...I'm going to give this a bash tonight...

Love the Avatar Shuzo... am going on the hunt for a Zelda Avatar to pimp my enjoyment of Windwaker

Thanks Mardigan and pimp away! I've actually started playing through wind waker again recently but thats mainly because I've not got much else to play at the mo..stil a brilliant game tho.

Completed Dragon Roost Island over the weekend and had a wee venture about the sea before I was told "We are not ready for that place just now" By Mr Red Lion Head Just spooke with Deku Tree and picked up the Deku Leaf... saved my game at the ledge where you need to float over to Forbidden Forest and when loaded my game up again I found I was back at the start of the island. This is quite annoying that any progress you made through the island is forgotten when saved and just get bumped back to the start. Yes, I still have all the stuff I collected and just need to make my way up to where I was but having to do this a little annoying.

That is is the only negative thing I can say about the game and I can actually understand why it is like that... just annoyed I have to trek through all the mad jumps again. Even if the save put you at the start of the area you were in it would have been fine, but hey, when the entire package is this good moans like that really dont matter

Look for the cauldrons dude, they should help you short cut through dungeons...

                            Comment

Yeah I found them on Dragon Roost Island, but couldn't see any in the Great Deku Tree area. Think it is because that area aint actually a dungeon as such but the pre-amble area leading to the dungeon on The Forbidden Forest. The cauldrons were pretty handy as I died a couple of times on the Dragon Roost boss... he kept leathering me without reply from myself, then I had a wee look up to see the Dragons tail very cheeky!!

I'm having a similar problem as you Mardigan. I'm at the part where I have to make my way to the forbidden woods again and because I'm impatient I keep falling into the sea while floating over to it and then dying because I cant get back into the boat. That means I end up outside the forest haven again..which of course means making my way all the way back up.. I know I'm bitchin but it is a pain in the butt. This is the reason I'm takin a little break from it for now..
