Finally completed the game on friday night. I really enjoyed this game, especially the dungeons. And I loved the cel shaded look.

However, my biggest gripe with this game was surprise, surprise...the tri-force collecting part.
**** man, it was soooooo long, boring even (I didn't half felt tempted to jack it in and play something else cos of it). Still, I perserved and got there in the end

Overall, its a great game, though not as good as OoT imo

    Roll on Twilight Princess....

Just started playing this game last week! I was having a great amount of fun but some of the puzzles are just . The first boss is so mean for an intro! I managed to figure it out but had to resort to a guide on the internet when I got to the

      "What do pirates love most?"

question part. Absolutely evil. It had me searching for ages.

Stuff like sailing and changing the wind direction do grate but overall it is a fun game. I love the artistic direction. Anyone who complains about the cell shaded look needs a thumping. It is so gorgeous!

Started playing this again the other day for the simple reason that my daughter wanted to have a go on a computer game (she's usually bored stupid by them) and Zelda is pretty much the only game I have that I thought would interest her. After she'd spent an hour or so just running around and talking to people, I picked up the pad and continued where I'd left off.

I got pretty far when I first got the game (over a year ago) and I was shocked at how easy it was to pick up again. I usually have trouble getting back into RPGs that I've not played in a while, but everything came flooding back. I'd forgotten just how good this game is. The art style is excellent, let's make that clear. I think It actually makes Twilight Princess look a little bland, if I'm honest. Everything is so colourful and well drawn, it's as close to a 3D version of LttP as you're going to get.

I'm going to try and finish this now...

Yeah, I loved the art style. The thought of going back to that boat sends a shiver down my spine though. A very dull, boring shiver.

I have to admit to adoring the N64 Zeldas. I still think that they are the best example of a game moving from 2D to 3D.

                agreed, the boat was GEH

but really, the game was stunning, it constantly blew me away

                especially the semi gory ending

Awww I loved the boat. The only change I would have made would have been a motor engine add on to speed it up slightly, and allow you to move and fire the cannon at the same time.

I think I would have loved the boat if there was more stuff to find and less distance to travel to find it.

What did you think of the emptiness of the landscape in Shadow of the Colossus? I find it strange that people deride this game for there being very little to find whilst exploring yet praise SotC for doing the same thing. Only there seems to be a "point" to it in SotC.

Personally I thought the sailing was fine but I much preferred the horse riding from OoT, perhaps because it was a lot less fiddly than sailing. The only thing that got on my nerves with the whole sailing thing was the triforce hunt, I don't think I've finished it yet because I stopped in the middle of the triforce hunt.

Very, very different Zappster. There was nothing to see but blue in Wind Waker. There was plenty to see in SotC. It was visually full of loveliness even with the lack of life. The direction was also very simple and hadn't that aimless feeling that WW had much of the time.

Again in OoT, there was simply more to look at and things seemed a lot closer so there was less time spent looking at nothing but Zelda's hair.

i gave up at the triforce hunt for a bit too, but then came back and finished it, its not too hard, the last dungeon was very easy too

it was supposed to have an extra 2 dungeons but they simply ran out of time - hence triforce hunt

                            Hey,

I gave up on this (i know, i know!) due to the tedious triforce hunt. I just couldnt hack it. Anyway, my brother has decided to start the game recently and suprise suprise he has got a bit stuck at...you guessed it, the triforce hunt.

These are his words, not mine.

"I can find all the triforce shards but i know it sounds silly but for some strange reason when i enter the light where they are apparently placed the light dissapears. I have checked gamefaqs and other faqs and all they say is enter the light and you get the shard? but on some, they say use the hookshot to grab the shard? none of this is working for me?"

Could anyone help the little man please? He is only 12. I havent a clue what he is going on about!?

                            Many thanks.
                            ^_^

As far as I can remember, you pay for Tingle to place the markings on your sea chart.

Then when you approach the large, tall light beam, (indicating the triforce shard), it dissapears as you get close to it. You then have to pin-point as best as you can where the light was coming from - drop your hookshot as normal and you'll pull it up.

                                Thanks for replying Tetsuo.

Do we have to get all the maps first before even attempting to get the shards?

If you don't then we (ive been trying to help now) have been "pin pointing" as best as we can possibly can and having no luck whatsoever. Surely we are not expected to just aim our hookshot endlessly in a "hit and hope" type way. Because if you do, we have been doing that for the past half hour now and it sucks! heh.
