FYI what I've done is change the amount of posts you can get per page, therefore reducing the amount of pages to work through. If you click on SETTINGS at the top of this forum, you will see a MY SETTINGS section bottom right. Click on General Settings and there is a section called Number of Posts to Show Per Page: I've changed mine to the highest setting (50 posts per page) and BOOM this thread alone goes from 17 pages down to 4!

Just a heads-up if anyone is interested - Crysis and Warhead are ridiculously cheap on Steam right now.

So, anyone who has played the original crysis, how do the singleplayer campaigns compare? I've heard some glowing praise about crysis 2, but I'm trying to make my way through the original and it's a bit of a slog to be honest.

The second game's single player campaign outshines the first one. Towards the end of both though they started to feel the same, that's not to say either are bad games.

I found original Crysis was great until you get to the bit where the aliens are introduced. It goes a bit downhill from there but does pick up near the end.

Crysis 2 was better paced for me.

The worst part of the original Crysis is getting chased by a helicopter. I liked the alien sections myself.

Just completed this. Overall I thought it was pretty good, elevated mainly by the awesome sound and music. Graphics were pretty damn sweet if your PC can handle it, although you seem to have to have it on very high to stop pop up. The campaign was ok, nothing all that memorable, no real epic set pieces that I can remember, just the bits were you have to use the night vision I remember being cool.

I don't think its the best of this type of game, I still liked Halo Reach miles more, think its the freedom you seem to have with vehicles. I'd give it the classic copout score of 8 out of 10.

Dont know if any of you have yet seen this but Game are currently offering Crysis 2 for 22.99 for Xbox/PS3 and 14.99 for PC. Think this only on the online store but pretty good deal, so glad i waited for this to drop in price.

Completed this today, I did grow to like it a lot more as the game went on and the combat was usually very satisfying, however the stealth mode (on the default normal setting) makes the game a walk in the park, literally. For much of the last three levels I barely had to fire a bullet, I simply cloaked and walked right past all of the enemies. I know its freedom of choice, and I could of fought them if I wanted, but that the game allows you to so easily break it like this is disappointing. I might go back for a playthrough on a higher difficulty, but its not a burning desire to do so. I feel a bit let down by this overall, my fault for listening to all of the 'best fps ever made' hyperbole here and elsewhere I guess, sometimes its better avoiding opinion and just playing it for yourself first.

who said it was the best FPS ever made? i've listened to much hype and praise but no one mentioned this so far. i'd rank the campaign closely behind Halo 1 + 2 though. multiplayer is let down by the complete absence of co-op modes for me. a shame, really.

oh, and this game needs to be played on the highest difficulty to offer some challenge if you want to go in stealth-like. even "supersoldier" is a breeze if you know how to use your suit to the best of its abilities and how to take on the enemies.

Played through this on 360 over the last week. It's fun enough, some nice gameplay mechanics in there, but the plot is pretty generic and the visuals, while pretty, are a bit uninteresting at the same time.

Glad I played it, doubt I'll ever feel like playing through it again though.

yeah, know what you mean. I've been playing it on PC with the DX11 and High Res texture pack and it looks sublime, but theres been no real standout moments for me so far (aside from the jaw dropping graphics...). Still its more interesting then a lot of recent shooters, but im not really a big shooter fan.
