Well I got the game around 9 P.M. tonight, played a 50CC Grand Prix match with my sister and one by myself. I lost the one by myself I got second place, while with my 10 year old sister I got a Gold. She's got a pretty mean right hook with Peach

Anyway, so far I'm liking the level designs and the cooperative karting. This game is really fun and I'm not missing the hop at all. So far, Peach's Cruise Ship and the Wario (I think it's Wario) Stadium are my favorites. The baby Mario and Luigi circuit is also AWESOME. It's so simple, yet 7 laps around it is totally hectic

No chance to play battle mode yet. But early impressions are that I like this a lot

After a few more days on it I find that it's not deep enough to warrent constant play but a few blasts per day are fun. Still haven't finished 150cc GPs for Star and Special

I found myself cursing at the game yesterday trying to do 100cc Special Cup.

I've been using the Koopas and the bullet kart but you seem to get knocked about everywhere - usually off the edge in Dino Land and Rainbow Road.

So I tried to get heavy - and used one koopa and Bowser in the DK Barrel Kart - big improvement and the handling is pretty good too. The only drawback is the accelration.

              I was just thinking.

If certain characters have a certain predisposition to get certain items, eg: Koopas and Shells, and Donkey with Bananas, wouldn't that make Battle really unfair.

Do the characters get completely random items in battle, or are you more likely to get certain items as certain characters? It would be totally unfair if it wasn't random! DK would just be a **** character to use in battle!

My housemates saw an advert for this and actually expressed an interest in the Dual people on a Kart, thats a the first game in a loooooong time that any of my housemates have expressed an interest in a console game.

Thing is every weapon is as destructive as another, once you get used to MK64 u no longer start cursing always getting banana skins and question blocks, as I now win most of my battles due to careful placing of them, rather than relying on getting the shells. If u put em in the most natural driving lines they're lethal.

GAME CENTRAL MARIO KART DD REVIEW!!!!!!!

So i suppose Game Central 7/10

                          IGN 7.9/10
                          Edge 5/10
Gamespot 7.9/10 are all wrong are they?

Not liking the cheating AI and Mario Kart 4x4 quotes in the Game Central review. Ive always found Digi/Game Central reviews to ge honest so i waited for there score of DD before i decided to purchase the game. I was hoping that the negative reviews (please don't tell me 7 out of 10 is a good score ) were all BS but after reading the Game Central reveiw i will not be buying this game after all

I think there are too many Nintendo "fan boy's" trying to justify there purchase of DD by claiming that all the average reviews (yes 7, 7.9 out of 10 is average) were out of order.

                          Nintendo, you have messed up!

EDIT. rjpageuk, I'm sorry mate but simply saying "If you don't like the game just don't buy it then" means nothing on a video games forum.

Mario Kart simply just is'nt good enough and not what i expected from Nintendo. It's no good people moaning about people who moan about the score of DD. The bottom line is that the game should have got rave reviews and not average ones. Yes i believe a game that scores 7 out of 10 is average.

What happened to the days when you were almost certain that a game with "Nintendo" on the box was a classic?

The same can be apllied to Capcom and Konami etc etc. If you told me back in the days of the SNES that companys like Nintendo, Capcom and Konami would start to release games that were anything other than classic titles i would have laughed at you.

Now we get games from those companys that can score as low as 5 out of 10.

The items you get depend on your place in the field - the lower you are, the more speedups, stars, specials, and red shells you'll get. When you're in first place, you seem to always get bananas, question blocks or green shells.

The game is surprisingly... not as much fun as I hoped it would be, mostly due to the unsatisfying nature of the AI - your final position just feels random at times, especially (and mostly) on 150cc.

You could always try the game for yourself and make up your own mind, instead of letting someone else tell you what to think? If I only purchased games that scored an 8+ score everywhere then I would've missed out on tons of favourites. Besides, places like Eurogamer, EGM and Famitsu loved it, it's simply had a mixed reception, just like Mario Kart 64 did.

What happened to the days when you were almost certain that a game with "Nintendo" on the box was a classic?
What happened to the days of playing games before dissing them? And you're wearing thick rose-tinted specs if you think every game with Nintendo on the box was a classic. You obviously don't remember Mario & Wario, Yoshi's Cookie and countless over Snes shovelware they released.
