I'm enjoying this so far, it's really polished though I'm not feeling completely won as it feels very much like a competant update rather than a real advancement of the series. Still excellent stuff though

The gripes I have are the fact that FPS gameplay is kind of hard, which forces me to go stealth more often than not. And the bosses, I've done in 2 so far and while the first was a bit challenging, the second was an absolute joke. Mark it, and just mindless heavy rifle blasting and it was after the battle that I noticed the ridiculous amount of ammo at that place.Last edited by saturn-gamer; 28-08-2011, 19:35.

Steam says 16 hours played. I know quite a bit of that was restarting different sections and dying.
This was with the majority of side quests completed that I had found. I don't know if there were more that I missed.
I thoroughly enjoyed every last bit of this. Even though the bosses were a little bit frustrating, once you'd found out the particular trick to defeating them, it was absolutely brilliant.
The amount of choices you have throughout the entire game are absolutely fantastic.
Regarding getting different endings and how to:
From what I can see, there are three different endings. Once you've defeated the final boss, you get to choose what 'ending' you want to play out.
On the final level, you have secondary objectives to either see Taggart or Sarif.
Taggart requires a maxed out level 5 hacking skill to get to.
Sarif requires super strength to get to as he has incredibly heavy objects blocking his door.
Performing either of these extra objectives will open up the 2nd or 3rd ending to choose from, otherwise you only get the choice of one.
you can reach sarrif and taggart without needing those max upgrades , theres always different routes, also you didnt mention the 4th ending, did you get that option?
Oh yeah also, did you find it annoying that some scenes from the trailer dont appear in the game? I did, like the icarus sun burning wings dream, no arm spider grab thing scene in the e3 trailer too,
fighting barret on a roof in china when he says "youll never find um" thats not in the game either

Regarding the bosses, all you need is a leveled up typhoon augmentation and a bit of ammo, it makes short work of them all and it basicaly turns an entire boss fight into a press of a button.
But then I guess some people have been spending too much time being stealthy to realise that the kick ass weapon of destruction they have attached to them might be useful.Last edited by rmoxon; 29-08-2011, 01:54.

Just done the first mission. Spent ages making sure I didn't kill anyone only to find that you get no real XP bonus for doing so (other than the individual bonuses per enemy).
Enjoying it but I'm not amazingly keen that the game revolves around stealth and cover now. There's a lot of flexibility in playing styles but it all revolves heavily around hiding (whether it's hiding then taking pot shots/charging an enemy or just staying completely hidden)

Im gettng used to the cover system a lot more now, but it is frustrating to have an enemy walk right by you sometimes and yet be unable to X-attack him for some reason without dropping out of cover momentariy. Ive restarted it three times now, and have just stepped out into Detroit, the game is warming up nicely now.

I've been playing this a bit this weekend and am quite enjoying it. Have tried to be stealthy at times but at others it's just been far too tempting (and far too fun) to just beat some ass. I am currently
in the Picus studio
- not sure roughly how far through that is? With the way the cities work and you pick up quests, I'm reminded very heavily of The Darkness - no bad thing IMO.
One slight annoyance I'm finding with the augments is that at times it feels you almost need to predict what the game's going to throw at you in deciding what'd be useful. I've actually gone into a few areas with Praxis points to spare just in case I need to jump higher, hack something at a higher level, lift something heavy, etc.

I've no problem with the lip syncing being off, and the voice acting isn't that bad either. Jensen isn't too awful a character either, but I do wish I could give him a 'sense of humour' augment at times.

I tell you what though, some of the weapons aren't half amazing when you let loose if you're stealthing it up.
It kicked off for me last night with a load of street scum and I shotgun blasted one of them in the legs, knocking him forward off his feet and onto his dead face with real force.
Visceral and very satisfying to say the least after all that sneaking about.

I find the take downs really satisfying too, sent one guy flying over a desk which looked very cool. Totally screwed me when his body was found but it was still funny!
I find the hacking really intense, the way the game doesn't 'pause' during the hacks makes them pretty scary at times. Also trying to type in passwords quickly can be a challenge! Imagine it is somewhat cooler on PC
Returning to the appartment and watching the shutters go up never gets old, in fact the general art-direction throughout is steller.
Low point of the game so far has to be the voice-acting of the woman you buy intel from in the city, it's so out of place

Just wanted to say I love this so far. Really amazing atmosphere and art direction and I'm finding the game immensely fun to play. I love sneaking around through ducts and finding hidden areas. I know you can choose how to play the game, but it definitely feels like you're supposed to be playing stealth. It's not a problem as I'd probably choose this anyway, but every now and then it would be nice to charge in like a hero and not die in one shot!
