Really enjoying this online. I only play as Swansea City (couldn't bring myself to be anyone else) unbeaten online so far, think its been about 10 games. I've beaten someone who was AC Milan 6-1 and this morning beat someone who played as Santos 4-2. I'm sure I'll get a drubbing soon but I'm enjoying it while it lasts.
My only real complaint is how confusing the online is to find the right option. It takes me ages to navigate the menus when I go online.

Won the EA Shield online in h2h seasons today at my first attempt. Bloody ace this game. Though everyone seems to be Madrid. Annoying. Also up to division 9. Wooo.

Two goals I enjoyed.
Wilshere against my mate.
Great ball from Theo. Career.

Bizarre. I can get into the game ok. But when I load up career mode it signs me out of the EA servers.
This also seems to affect my xbox live. Although I can see friends and notice them logging in, it does not register when messages are received I switched the console back on 10 mins ago after playing this morning to find 6 messages waiting for me - from this morning - that hadn't registered at the time.

When playing on highest difficulty, you kinda have to use all the new defending features to succeed in my opinion. Still want to buy this but so many games coming out that I want, I don't know which to get.

As much as I like this myself there are some shocking issues with it. The defending system is hugely unbalanced in favour of the attacker now and they can simply twist and turn at will and there is little you can do about it. People online are already exploiting this making clubs a real pain when you have fast pros against slow defenders.
The attackers simply have no error at all yet the defender has to time the tackle to perfection.
Also the computer teams all play like Barcelona which is fun for a while but it starts to grate on the harder levels.
I'm enjoying it more at the moment then all the previous Fifa's
Granted I don't play on highest difficult...I'm way too **** for that but at the moment I'm finding the right balance with everything.
I hardly ever play online & I'm finding the CPU AI about right at the moment.
I'm Southend in my career so playing League 2 & maybe that has some bearing on it...the football is slower & players aren't the same skill as premiership so maybe once I start getting premotions & playing higher league teams in the cups then I'll start finding faults but at the moment it's all fresh & plays more like real football
I'm also not finding too much to fault with the defending.
I do get the usual AI immunity moments where all I try fails miserably but on the whole I find if I use the contain (L2) then I can easily jockey players enough to get in with the Jostle/Standing Tackle Button ([]) to get the ball away.
Still I'm loving it & expect to get a few thousand hours play out of it till '13 arrives

Played some more Career mode last night & I'm loving this more & more.
The new Career front end is brilliant & I love the differing news stories on the tabs...a real nice little feature & I find myself not just advancing to the next match & actually stopping to read things now.
Played my first cup game last night (A 2-1 victory over Portsmouth in Extra Time) & just expected the usual commentary from Martin Tyler & Alan Smith.
So imagine my surprise when Clive Tyldsley & Andy Thompson crop up adding their opinions to the proceedings.
A great move on EA's part IMO helps make the commentary more involving & the banter these 2 have is quality.
At one part I skied a shot only to hear Andy say that it was too bad to comment on, but then went on to change his mind & sa it was rubbish & dire...quality stuff.
I really haven't enjoyed a football game this much ever before, it really is the best Fifa ever.

When playing, you can either have you and your friend play as your own players or set your controller to ANY, meaning you control all other players that aren't controlled by other users. If you and your friend play as your own pros, then the rest of the team will be made up of AI. Generally, they are really good at defending.
You don't have to have all human club members online to play a game, but I'm not sure, you may need at least two humans playing in a match.
As you play, as you do certain milestones, like shoot outside the box, skin an opponent, etc etc, you raise the levels of your own player.
Really recommend it. It's all I play really. Except for Career too, where I can also ranking up my player (who is currently playing for CSKA Moscow - he wants away to a bigger better team though).
Really recommend you get most of your Arena accomplishments completed (not hard) before you begin you Pro Club journey.Last edited by hudson; 07-10-2011, 11:15.

Before I trade this in for something else, is there a secret to tackling the AI that Im missing? My most successful method is to try to contain then block the opponent. The AI runs circles around my team most of the time, it usually feels like sheer luck if I actually manage to get the ball off them.

Got playing a Manager Career last night with Southend & I'm suitably impressed with the new Commentary.
I'm Southend & only played through my pre-season friendlies but I was pleseantly surprised to hear Martin Tyler & Alan Smith comment on them & the fact that I had lost my first 2 friendlies in the 3rd game.
Something I felt was missing from previous versions was that most teams lower then Premiership in the English leagues never had names mentioned during games.
I don't think it's been fixed for this version either but I like what they did there.

I've heard there's a problem on clubs where you don't gain pro accomplishments when you are the away team.
Anyone else heard this?
Gutted if so, as I've played about 30 club gamed so far.
