Maybe it's the reduction in puzzling that makes it feel that way then. I certainly remember having to do more with my brain last time out.

So far im quite enjoying it but it does have its really frustrating bits that makes me want to switch. I have to say it looks just fantastic, the attention to detail really is impressive especially the water effects. But like you have all commented on, the controls are pretty terrible and are a real let down. I thought it was just me but Drake feels so twitchy and is like controlling someone who is drunk, it’s very difficult to walk slowly. What i can’t understand is every review i have read not once has the really poor controls been mentioned just really hope the coming patch fixes it.

Finished it too, easily the easiest Uncharted and I agree, it's less combat orientated than the previous two. Despite understanding the reticule sp weirdness I think anyone struggling with the controls is either new to the franchise or simply not very good at the games. To control this is kids stuff. Now onto Crushing.

Upto Chapter 13 now. Just stunningly, absolutely, totally loving this!!
I'm actually finding it harder than 1 & 2 if I'm honest. The combat is cool and the new little things like chucking back grenades and taking on an enemy while being held by another.
Did some split screen co-op with my Brother last night and it's amazing! No slowdown and graphically still strong.

Just finished, from chapter 13 onwards this was an all-out blast of one magnificent set piece/level following another. Definitely some levels I will replay again just for the hell of it. Probably just a notch below UC2 in my book, didn't really have a problem with the aiming myself but Drakes movement seemed off (as commented before, like he's drunk), and it took a while to really get into this one whereas UC2 grabbed from the outset.
And completion was perfect timing, just a couple of days before the real world gets lost in skyrim

Feeling rather disappointed with this at the moment. I'm on chapter 21 now and it seems that most of the game has been shooting, with endless enemies including some that take my full payload of ammo on two guns to take down, even with mostly headshots!! I've lost count of how many times I've died and I can't remember the last time I played a game that made me so damn angry (I've never thrown a controller but I tell you I was close earlier).
The storyline also seems less deep/interesting than in the previous games, or at least the 2nd, and puzzles seem few and far between. The previous games used to frustrate me but more because of the camera angles when trying to line up jumps and also because I would find/do what I was supposed to in a puzzle, but not in the way the game wanted so it wouldn't progress. Whilst this has happened in 3 it has only been once or twice, no doubt due to the fact there has been less opportunity for these issues to arise due to lack of puzzles/exploring.
Finally, whilst I think the game overall is very pretty and some parts really shine out if you look closely the detail is lacking. To me it doesn't look any better than say, MW2 which I've been playing online recently...

loved no 2, but for me this franchise has run its course. This was the poorest - felt i was struggling against a broken aiming system, ropey AI, twitchy controls and increasingly annoying dialogue. Seems to have be poorly playtested too, as its filled with cheap deaths and confusing waypoints - why is there no option to install to the HDD, as the load times were awful.
biggest disapointment of the year for me
The vita version looks to be more faithful to the original; might give that a whirl before giving up totally

Playing this more last night and I may have gone totally overboard on the score and it's now a 9 maybe 8 out of 10. The piss poor aiming and hit shot recognition and dreadful camera system is staring to take it's toll; I can put up with the cheap deaths, but not poor aiming or when you clearly hit a enemy in the head with 2 hots or more they're able to walk around like nothing happened, not a game breaker but it's step down from Uncharted II
That said the game is still quality and the story and cast of characters as good as ever

I agree that the aiming is bad and it spoils moments in the second half of the game, along with the fact that there are simply too many enemies in some bits it means there are quite a few frustrating moments, even on normal.
However this still isnt as shooting orientated as people are making out, there are actualy loads of sections where a good use of stealth will get you through withou having to shoot people, and in this respect the levels are designed really well.
Its just too bad that when all hell breaks loose the game can feel very unfair at times, The focus on massive movie like set peices seems to have meant that whenever there is a simple shoot out in this game it is not that well designed at all.
Its still a really great game but thinking about it I am inclined to agree with some people who are saying that the second Uncharted is the better game.Last edited by rmoxon; 09-11-2011, 11:56.

I couldn't think of many set pieces that really stuck out like Uncharted 2 did.
For example the:
- the first time you took on the Humvee chasing you down the street when you first arrive in Nepal.
- The collapsing buiding/ Helicopter sequence leading to the trainyard, and then the train chase.
- Even the horse boarding trucks is just ripped from Uncharted 2 Nepal section. Though I did prefer the aesthetics of Uncharted 3's version.
Even the banter was better in #2 such as Drake & Flynn/ Drake & Sully etc. Also I felt all the characters had better mix of airtime in #2, whereas
Elena/ Chloe
barely got a look in, in the third installment.
