Finally started playing this yesterday, it's taken a while to get on it due to my new rule of only playing one game to completion before starting another!

Really loving it so far, videogames just don't come any more stunning than the uncharted games. I'm not really that far in and already my jaw has dropped on several occasions at the sheer detail. My only complaint would be that sometimes the set pieces happen so quickly, and without any indication to routes etc, that I sometimes find myself dead several times in rapid succesion trying to figure out what to do. Don't know if it'll end up topping the second one, but the signs are good. Can't wait to get home from work today and continue.........

EDIT: Another few hours in last night, this is blowing my socks off, absolutely brilliant. So much thought has gone in to this, I just don't want it to end! These days games rarely grab my attention, but the uncharted titles always seem to buck that trend. Might need to buy and replay the first two again when I complete this. Brilliant.

Wow, Im on around chapter 18, seriously so many fantastic set pieces. I didnt think they'd get near the amazing train level from U2 but they managed to beat it IMHO with the pirates/cruiser level . . . "See you in hell, Habibi!"

I used to say U2 was one of the best games ever but this has so many little touches that take it past 2 and the plot so far is even better as the bad guys are more personal to Drake as opposed to a mad eastern European warlord. Tbh, I'dve been happy if this was close to 2 but they're really making it look easy. The "If it aint broke" approach with each sequel has made for one of the greatest series in gaming history in a short space of time. Naughty Dog are truly masters of their craft now, I reckon the Vita Uncharted game should be the last one for this gen and U4 should be aimed at as a PS4 launch title, otherwise they'd risk getting stale. Everytime I think Im going through an all too similar scenario a twist comes in that knocks me for 6.

Just finished it. Wow, pure Hollywood, absolutely loved it. Easily becoming my favourite series of games ever.

Same, just clocked it too. I was surprised it wasn't as exhausting a finale as part 2 but not complaining. This is a magical series and another thing I've realised is the script and characters is top notch, a grade above b movie hollywood. Just when you think the characters are going to deliver a corney or cliche line (like nearly 99% of other video games) they go and do a 180 on you and bring a smile to your face.

Drake one was bloody good, part 2 was an absolute epic but this is just monumental. Havent played Batman AC or Zelda yet so this definetly gets my GOTY shout until then Its these sorts of games which justify a ?40+ RRP IMHO.

Just ordered this. Is the aiming patch out? Does it add graphics smudging? Naughty Dog said they were going to also include a patch to smudge all the graphics, which I'm not so keen on.

If the patch is out, is the smudging optional? Can I choose not to have smudging, and instead have crystal clear graphics like my TV is meant to output? Or is smudging mandatory if you want decent aiming?

Because in that case I'm afraid I'm going to have to stick with broken controls.

I don't know about anyone else, but if I wanted my world to be blurry, I slap some vaseline onto my eyeballs, or just not bother wearing corrective spectacles.

I'm afraid to ask what kind of film that is from!

It's from Jack Black's earlier days - he was young and needed the money. In this scene he splashed clotted cream on his face and had kittens lick it off. And by kittens, I mean naked women.

                It's actually from Shallow Hal

Just finished it, standing by my 8 and I still feel, no 2 has the edge. Cracking game though and I look forward to the Vita one with open arms.

Now at chapter 9. What a great game! I don't know how I'd score it yet, but one thing for sure, it's superb fun! I still can't get over the visuals of this game, and I love the puzzles. I think I'd say the shooting is the weakest part, but it's still not bad at all.

                      Anyone tried the update?

Hells no! It breaks the graphics by adding Vaseline smudging to the visuals. What if I install it and then can't uninstall it? I'll be stuck with a game that looks like ****.

I was about to say something like "god forbid you ever play a Wii game, your face will probably melt off like the bloke from Raiders of the Lost Ark."

                          Then I remembered reading this:

So... can't you just use the same pair of eyes you use for VHS tapes to play Uncharted 3? Surely this will solve all your problems.

I'm interested in hearing about the update too. I held off buying the game when I heard that the aiming was up the creek. Now I'm looking forward to playing it soon.

Had a go on this now that it's updated. It's definitely playable now with the new aiming mode, but it still isn't the same as U2. There's still a problem of enemies running past you while you're aiming with L1 and you're unable to turn fast enough to catch them. Oh well.

Didn't even notice the blur effect, should give it a shot Sketcz. Also you can always delete game data and go back to the version on the disc, if you don't like it.

                              Cheers, will do this.

Does anyone enjoy the multiplayer? I'm trying to get some regular-ish games going but its just randoms because no one seems to be that interested in taking the multi-player seriously for Uncharted.
