I think the people who are playing COD and Fifa are the mainstream, casual rubbish people on this forum.

A fully conclusive ending went out the window the second ME2 became huge and ensured the series wiild continue beyond the proposed trilogy, thats why the end doesnt bother me as I know therell be a fourth game at some point to show what happened next. The relay part is a bit of a plot hole but as a sci fi series its very easy to get around for future games

I was on about attitudes towards storytelling rather than gameplay but yeah the reaction towards the Mass Effect 3 ending and hatred that it wasn't all wrapped up in a bow for them is on the same level as playing COD obsessively yes. Less so with Fifa, its the best football game out there, So it automatically makes it the game that most people who love football will want to play.

But I still don't think there is anything wrong with having mainstream tastes in any form anyway, I was just surprised that some people on here have them for some reason.

I finished this last night and was on my guard about the ending, after having read a little about the outrage. It still didn't prepare me for how stupid it seemed.

There's so many plot holes it does seem as if they had no idea what they were doing.

And then when it plonks you

back on the ship on the end so they can shill you for DLC

, I actually laughed out loud.

            edit: that video nails it.

I see. Well I personally enjoy a mixture of open endings and closed endings depending on the material. Sometimes they work and sometimes they feel like a cheap way out.

You won't be downloading the new ending then I take? :P

That FIFA arguement holds just as a strong with COD. Fact is, for most, COD is the best online fps multiplayer experience hence they want to play that. Sure theres a very vocal minority who dislike the iteraritive nature of the series but then again thats the same for FIFA. Theres also a large number of 'hardcore' gamers who play both. ME3s ending more so shows how easily gamers moan about nothing these days.

No, as much as I liked the game I am not even going to bother with any DLC at all. Even though they are saying that they have kept their original artistic vision while changing the ending I think they are pandering to an ungrateful audience and it makes them no better than the people who have forced this change upon the developers.

I think it's really sad that they are changing it, and even if I didn't like the original ending I'd still feel embarrassed for them over their descision. I doubt they care, but the series won't be getting any more money from me now. I will play somthing made by someone with artistic integrity instead... Although that is admittedly hard to find in this day and age.

I thought the game was gold plated garbage. Looking beyond the rich universe with it's lush lore, characters and story, the impeccably designed aesthetics, the stunning visuals and sound, all I found was was an incredibly bland 'game'. The gameplay (which has become a poor man's Gears of War), the tedious level design, the 'boxyness' of everything (ie the feeling that there is nothing going on beyond the tiny areas you can explore), the linearity and scant lack of freedom, it's all second-rate, at times third-rate, and my experience of actually 'playing' the game (not watching the stunning conversations/cutscenes) was wholly unsatisfying, wholly unremarkable. When I think back to all my favourite moments, all the best bits, it was all cutscenes, and in my mind that speaks volumes.

As for the ending, I didn't mind it too much. It wasn't your typical

'and they all lived happily ever after'

ending, and I liked that, but it was way too short and not the epic ending an epic trilogy deserves. And I can understand why so many dislike the ending as there's very little choice and interaction at the end, especially

the inability to enter any meaningful dialogue and question the Catalyst Kid or God-Child

or whatever he's called. Also from a philosophical point of view the ending is broken and riddled with flaws which is a shame as throughout the series Bioware's writers have a good understanding of philosophy in regards to artificial intelligence, what it means to be 'alive', the definition and implications of free will, utilitarianism, egoism, deontology, and tackled those subjects with the intelligence they deserve, but I get the sense they tried to be a bit too clever at the end and only ended up fooling themselves as the ending does not hold up to logical scrutiny.

But still, the ending's no worse than the gameplay. Gold plated garbage.

I really enjoyed playing it, granted it wasn't the type of game I really wanted it to be after playing the first two, but as a piece of entertainment I though it was great. I would award it a 8 for pure entertainment, but maybe 5 for how I really wanted this series to be. The surprise for me is how addictive the tacked on mutiplayer is.

Chris Priestly previously admitted: "A new patch gets heavily tested by BioWare, EA, Microsoft and Sony before it can be released to the public."
And it absolutely does not work. How the **** does that work, exactly?

I wonder if Bioware and/or EA are getting too big for their boots and are demanding patches are pushed through because they claim to of tested them themselves.
