    Mass Effect 3

Right, so i have this unlocked via origin using a proxy from china.

Won't spoil any story, just want to talk about tyhe gameplay for a bit. From what i've played so far, still quite early in the game and everything feels like a long corridor with no exploration. The combat seems the usual and decent and the graphics are ok. The textures on the pc version are really rough, hopefully it wouldn't look so bad on the xbox.

One thing that annoys me, you can't holster your weapons. So you look like you are walking around like a douche.

Seems quite enjoyable will post more impressions the further i get into it. Still quite early into the game, i'm about 2-3hrs into it.

Lack of memory on the consoles means weapon holstering has been removed.

And yet the past 2 games managed it. What exactly does this game do that the others don't?

It has melee attacks now, can't remember if they had them in the previous games.

It did yeah, I seem to remember you could smack enemies a bit with rifle butts and the like.

Unless the game's a 100 hour epic, I honestly don't see why there are memory issues all of a sudden. The game is fairly underwhelming texture wise on PC, god only knows how much of a pig's breakfast it looks on a console.

I cant remember being able to holster your weapons in other games, I never knew how too anyway. There was always a Melee button.

Well the melee attacks in this have been redone, i'm guessing its to do with the multiplayer. You use the omni tool to attack now, if you hold down the melee button longer you do a stronger attack.

The stats have been overhauled as well, you have 2 paths on each stat now.

Oh of course, the tacked on multiplayer mode.

That'll be where the extra memory's gone then!

Does it seem more challenging than the last one? Mass Effect 2 was virtually a masterpeice but one negative was that you were so over powered (at least the way I played it as a Vanguard) that you could basically just run through all of the combat sections with your eyes closed and for the boss fights you just had to stand still and shoot stright forward for 10 minutes.

It feels alot more challenging, but i've only played the first couple of hours. There certainly alot more enemies on screen and the ai seems a bit more robust.

I haven't played it but I assume the memory has been spent on more unique textures, more enemy types etc.

The 0% spambots are hitting the user review section of metacritic hard. Pathetic, really.

Probably butt hurt kiddies who didn't get in reorders for the N7 edition in time.

Nah, the tacked on Multiplayer modes are the culprits here. Unique the textures may be, pretty they are not!

i have the feeling Angry Joe's worst predictions might be true and ME3 is more like GOW3 than ME1 then?
