But how does the multiplayer mode cause the single player game to use more RAM?

Put about 32 hours into this so far (doing the majority of side missions), and it's absolutely fantastic. I love how BioWare has altered certain aspects of the game, yet still managed to retain that familiar Mass Effect feeling. If you liked Mass Effect 2, then I can't think of a real reason why you wouldn't enjoy this.
Combat is still as satisfying as ever, with the gunplay and biotic powers working together incredibly well. Taking down the enemies (both old and new) using the weapons (there are loads) and powers at your disposal is an incredible amount of fun. You'd think the "take cover and shoot/use powers" mechanic would get a little repetitive and boring, but (without spoiling anything) it rarely ever reaches that point. The only slight downside is the cover mechanic, which can be a little "sticky" times. By that I mean, on a few rare occasions, you might find yourself getting into cover when you don't want to. Minor niggle though, and doesn't hinder the otherwise fantastic combat.
Customisation seems to have been tweaked a little, as you can now add a wealth of stat increasing modifications to all your guns via weapon benches. Armour can be customised too, with each different part having an effect on certain stats such as health, weapon damaged and so on. Both are nice additions, and sure to please the "more RPG elements" crowd.
Ah, and then you have the story and characters. Hard to say much about them without going into spoiler territory, but both the story and characters are just absolutely epic. They lend themselves to some superbly executed set pieces throughout the game that will make your jaw drop on more than one occasion, and I haven't even finished the game yet! There's so much going on around you, but you never feel overwhelmed (well, I didn't), instead it just goes to show how big and expansive the Mass Effect universe is.
Incredible stuff so far, can't wait to see what happens next. However, I don't want it to end either!

For instance, you can choose to spend some time on the Normandy with your crew or visit the various levels of the Citadel gathering up side missions and talking to people. You can also roam around the galaxy maps scanning for items, totally up to you. The scanning mechanic is different to Mass Effect 2 and takes into account the Reapers, but I won't say more as I don't want spoil anything for you guys. I haven't come across any mini-games yet.

It really opens up once you have control of the normandy again, just wish the citadel wasn't so small again. Each planet you visit is a corridor quest with mobs. Really fun and the combat is fantastic.
Also the ce bonus quest, i purchased for ?6 on origin (or included in the N7). Is preety decent and a huge bonus for mass effect fans. Hopefully more information will treacle as the game progresses.

The more i play this the more i love it. The combat is fantastic. The sound and score are epic probably the best in the series and recalling back to the original game. The citadel opens up even more the further you progress, which is a huge welcome as i kind of missed exploring it in mass effect 1.

PC I would say, with a HD5750 you should be able to get better frame-rates than on the 360.
However, bioware decided to not support control pads with the pc version, so that could be a deal breaker for some, but on the other hand you won't need xlive subscription for online multiplayer.Last edited by Cornflakes; 09-03-2012, 06:55.

Yeah pc version all the way. The framerate is completly solid all the time. Got everything set to max on 1920x1080, 8xAA and 16xAF.
Spec
Phenom II X4 [email protected]
Radeon HD 6950 2GB
Ram 12GB
SSD Drive
The loadtimes are 0.5 seconds long. lmao. Will take some screenshots later. Personally the pc controls are better than a pad, i thought i would be a bit iffy with it. But its so quick to access your powers using a keyboard it just makes everything so much more fun.
As for the citadel everything is completly new.
