14 hours in, still loving it. Some small niggles:
- There is no loading on PC (less than a second) so why bother with the loading screen, it's gone before you see it.
- I would like to holster my weapons
- The journal doesn't tell you have far you have got on a quest, so it can be confusing in multi step quests
- The galaxy map doesn't show the highlighted side quest, no "Set active" button on quests
- The space bar is used for jumping, running and cover, so I end up sticking to cover all the time.
- The inclusion of jumping super fast and speedy enemies is always a risk, they fail in ME3 too.
- The outisde maps feel a bit too constricted and tight, when compared to landing on a moon with a rover and then finding a base to explore. I kinda feel something inbetween would be better, perhaps even a Just Cause openworld with space ports?
- Poor lip sync
- Limited visual enhancements for PC: No high res textures, DX11 effects or geometry enhancements
+ The story is super
+ Artistic style is wonderful and at 1440p the low res textures are easy to ingore when everything else looks so good
+ I like the new main missions, good variety and fun to do
+ I love that I can put the shooting part on causual, but remain on RPG setting, for me combat is not the strongest part of ME, so if I had uber hard AI too, I'd not play it through. Same as ME1 and ME2, the games for me are more like an interactive story, good that I can make shooting easy, but keep the story choices and upgrades manual.
+ I am getting a good emotional connection with many characters and scenes, I do really feel immersed.
+ Good voice acting, but I think Uncharted has the edge
I don't know how far I am, I just
but after 14 hours the game is a "10" for a die hard fan like me, but if I was not such a fanboy I think the negatives could easily put this as an 8 or 9 for a review. Despite the weaknesses, the sum of it's parts just make it the perfect game for me.
Moving forwards the same sort of experience in an openworld would be interesting!
