Done with this game. Done done done.
Chimera attacks, then rogues, then wolves all at once because the damned Chimera is running around. Needless to say I'm in pitch black with a measley lantern and am completely stuck.
Actually ended up doing it it seems by pure luck. I'm assuming this place i should not have been in. I had about 15 bandits after me at one point and just kept throwing them over the ledge.
Thought I would leave my rant in anyway, as it is an extremely frustrating game at times.Last edited by elaniel; 31-05-2012, 17:46.

Went and baught some hair dyes and stuff from the RC vendor in the encampment now I have red eyes and my pawn has pink hair heh. Doesn't seem like many are using these extra colours yet judging from the pawns I've seen!
The amount of times I've pressed start when I meant select, or select when I meant to press start is getting on my nerves. Cancelling out of menus when I meant to change tab too. The interface is so bad. Still loving the game though. Nearly mastered Fighter, just a few more cheap skills to go and I can move onto Warrior with some nice traits to back it up.

I'll tell you one thing i do hate about this game, the map it utterly hopeless and has you going in and out of it constantly, its about as much use as a chocolate watch in a sauna.Last edited by MisterBubbles; 01-06-2012, 14:16.

Ha ha, tell me about it. Was trying to do an escort quest for Adaro from Cassardis to some area half way across the map last night. Ended up under some waterfall in an underground temple, fought my way through the Saurians there, NPC in tow. Found a Cyclops, killed him as the NPC stood around watching. And then realised it was a dead end. Had to leave and work my way along towards Witchwood along bandit encroached roads and ended up with two options. Slowly fight my way through numerous bandit or short-cut through some Saurians only to come face-to-face with a Chimera. The bandit route turned out to be the longest but safest bringing me to a fort by the sea and as the sun was setting I was still only halfway to my destination.
When I finally struck upon the correct route I came to realise that in this game sometimes you have to pretend you're Aragorn escorting a couple of hobbits while staying hidden from Wraiths along dark roads. It pays dividends to be vigilant of your surroundings and skirt around enemies that you don't have to fight. Usually in these games the inclination is to kill everything in sight and if you can't kill all enemies on a particular path then it isn't feasible. Here you have enough room to outmaneuver monsters, picking your fights as you go, which in a gameworld where you're pushed to complete your journey while the sun is up makes alot of sense.
In the end, with some careful picking and choosing of battles, along with mixing road use and off-road to avoid fiends I had a very tense run through some dangerous areas. Finding a friendly camp to stop at as the sun started to set was easily akin to the relief of reaching a bonfire in Dark Souls.
So yeah the map is crap but I had a good adventure thanks to how ineffective it is
I'm really attached to the idea of pawns now. Constantly keeping an eye on my main pawn's progress while switching out pawn's once I've leveled past them. I can see how players could come unstuck by not paying attention to it though. Does anyone know if your secondary pawns update themselves when you rest at an Inn or a use a Riftstone? So, say I hire two level 16 pawns and while I'm playing their owners get them to level 19. Do the servers resync them? So far it seems not, but I might be missing something.
Tip for any potential Striders: Get the dagger Ensnare ability as soon as you can. It's stupidly useful against tough small enemies. I bought Dazzle Hold as a means to stun enemies but while it looks useful it can be a bit flaky. Ensnare on the other hand is very handy in CQC.
Anyone shared photo's from the game on facebook yet? Just want to know if it's going to spam all my friends in which case I won't bother.Last edited by Riskbreaker; 03-06-2012, 13:48.

^^^ As a strider I completely agree. Ensnare is essential or else you will get destroyed by some fighters. I did connect facebook to mine and it only uploads when I tell it to upload it seems.
Also, you apparently used my pawn sometime recently and I got 1240 rift crystals. I would use yours, but it's so low level XD

Pretty sure it only uploads your current pawn status when you rest at an inn and won't update your 2nd pawns unless you send them away and the owners has since rested theirs, i had good mage 2nd pawn i used from 25 to 28 which i added to fav's, sent her away and got back lvl 34 mage in some new armour the owner had decked her out in.
My pawns called Gatts and it's pretty much a tank.
I do love exploring every nook and cranny, your almost aways rewarded with bag of gold, seeker token or some chest with armour, on my return to everfall(the guild pawn dungeon)
worms had gone, and it left me able to explore everything, the stairs themselves had nests on the drop side i'd missed first time around that require some deft platforming which got me some golden eggs, and at the bottom after jumping(with levitate) on to the pillers i notice a small gold bag only visiable from a height(of the pillars) which lead me to the jump on to the rocks in to a hidden section full of gold and chests.

i'm loving this even more now, taking it nice and slow, just found a lovely great hammer called the tripple tooth with nearly 900dmg.
some of the areas look ripped straight out of demon/dark souls like the soulflayer canyon especially in the dead of midlight with the lantern on the go, that place is instant death if you make one wrong turn.
fantastic stuff.

A typical escort quest in Dogma. Makes most other games of this ilk feel tame by comparison. This is what your pawn gets upto Elan.
