I'm saved at the last boss now and will do that tonight. I bought the Japanese Premium edition which is meant to have both Japanese and English sound tracks but I can't find any option. Must go on the 360's language setting which is in English on my Japanese system. Anyway, I found the first 2 stages a drag however from stage 3 you should have enough combo attacks to really liven up the game play plus the areas really start to become interesting. I also managed to find two glitches on the arcade stage which I'll upload to YouTube tonight.

To basically, at first Lollipop Chainsaw is slow but the more you play the more fun you will find. The only real bad point is the length. Way too short.

Interestingly enough, Stage 3 onwards is where the game is losing its charm for me. The Farm is far too bland an area and drags on again whilst Stage 4 opens well but I'm finding myself willing it to get towards the end even though its such a short game.

I thought stage 3 onwards is where it opened up for me too. It just keeps getting better and better from there.

            Totally agree with this.

Level three tested my patience. Most time seemed to be spent loading up between dross mini-games:

              the zombie harvests were dire

. Tons of sound glitches on this level, too. Shame they didn't go for some of the 8-bit style mini-games as in NMH2, which were pretty cool (the bug exterminator mini-game was the best thing about NMH2). Anyway, level three was redeemed by the amazing boss battle.

Im still loving replaying the levels, enjoying this so much!

Agree it needs another two levels though, over too quickly!

As I said earlier, glitchy and with bugs in audio and gameplay. And considering its an off the shelf engine which is suited to this type of game its a bit of a worry.

No audio bugs for me (360) but I did find some cool graphical ones.

I really wanted to love Lollipop Chainsaw, I really did. As I was really digging the previews and love the vision of Suda 51. Even though it does throw a standard fare Americana generality (if that's even a word) to the table.

                      But.
It's just that the combat is just not quite as accomplished as I wanted it to be. Granted, at first it could seem that way with a limited moveset, until you start to expand and purchase new combos. Mainly get Armadillo move and spam until you get something better. It's just that the combat is so horizontal, meaning that there's no chance for juggles to add a bit of flair. Then all you are left with is just one plane of movement for doing everything. Plus the fact that to achieve anything decent (and not get ganked) you are resorted to spamming the dodge button consistantly to create seperation between yourself and the mob to get a decent attack going.

All in all, I do love the aethetics, the hokey script/ humour, but my overidingfeeling about the game on the whole is that it could be better.

Just don't get me started on minigmes...

Finished this on hard now and its faults have really started to grate now. Everything just outstays its welcome.

Boss fights go on that bit too long, 'funny' exchanges go on that bit too long, cut scenes go on that bit too long, load screens go on that bit too long. Certain events go on that bit too long (Is there really any need to do the basketball twice, protect the bus from bomb zombies for that long or mow down so many zombies with a combine??) The point I am making going on that bit too long

Glitchy graphics...sometimes its impossible to break an item for coins even though you have broken the same item with ease on other runs...same with getting the vault to register. Plus the sparkle kills seem totally random...often giving more or less than actually happens!

Sadly being the whore that I am I still need to mop up the last couple of cheevs to get the 1000 before I get shot of it. Another game to throw in my 2012 disappointments pile

For some reason I want to play a version of this game where Juliet is on rollerskates and it has a proper fluid combat system instead of one more akin to a walk along beat em up. Mix in some jumps etc and it could be epic Sega-Arcade style fun

I've got just the last boss to clear tonight. I enjoyed playing last night though the last boss I fought dragged on. If a sequel to this was made I'd add a lot more stages but make them smaller and more varied.

Like the ice skates in Bayonetta perhaps? :3

Finished this last night and for what it was I really enjoyed it. It made me laugh, alot, though mileage will vary based on your sense of humour. Otherwise the combat while rough around the edges was fun once the combos started to unlock and the mini-games were generally amusing and made a decent distraction from the rest of the game. Yeah, it was relatively short but I don't mind that, it's actually quite nice once in a while to hammer through a score attack game knowing I'll be hammering through again anyway.

Essentially if the idea of chainsaw wielding cheerleaders killing zombies doesn't immediately evoke some sort of amusement you'd best not bother and I can understand that. But everything plays on that, even the soundtrack (especially the soundtrack) so if it doesn't appeal, avoid. Speaking of which, I loved the music, both the licensed and original tracks suit the game really well. For some reason the Cathedral boss had me thinking of Scott Pilgrim. No idea why, maybe more for the music than anything else.

I can only think of three instances in the game that really frustrated me, the last mini-game on the Arcade stage and rescuing the last two students on the Cathedral stage. And the students probably only frustrated me because I had a decent score and was having to load checkpoints (counts as continues for the sake of scoring).

I agree with Loftgroover that the cutscenes and loading screens could get irritating quick for score runs, shame they couldn't have included an option to bypass them completely. Haven't noticed any real glitches though, a couple of overlapping speech samples but that was it.

On the whole, short but sweet. Like a lollipop!

good game so far, not brilliant just good......beat stage 1 boss so far.
60fps and slightly more fluid combo strings would have made it a lot better.
