. On normal it was a breeze, but this was just death after death. It's a bit of a badly designed boss really, as the expectation is that you'll evade homing attacks which by their very nature are a pig to dodge. Bit frustrating as I really don't want to grind levels to beat this seeing as the difficulty everywhere else is pretty much bang on. Aside from the Rabid Scavengers which are two levels above everything and immune to all elements with solid shields. I've killed Super Badasses easier than those little sods and they are everywhere the Preservation area.

Have to say I'm disappointed with the loot drops on TVHM, it's extremely frustrating to find that bosses and badasses have a tendancy to drop rubbish and that's if they drop anything at all. I'm not expecting Legendary drops, but just some blues and purples would be nice!
Did you play the first game ?. If you have equip the relic that gives you 5% increase of rare loots drops.

Im currently lvl24 and nearly all pruple/blue weapons and a couple orange items(grenades+class mod).

Oh and let me now what class you have and I can give you some class mods if I find them if youre having trouble.

cheers for the codes...am currently dying every 3 seconds at the moment so hopefully will get a decent gun! got a really good class mod with my original key.

Am in sawtooth cauldron at the mo, reached level 50 so of course every enemy is level 51+

Being respawned on top of 3 bad ass marauders to die repeatedly in 1 second was a particular low point...

Am just trying to get through to the mission where I can get the Bee shield, kill Terramorphous to get the last 2 achievements and trade this in.

sawtooth cauldron is a **** hole of an area, only place in the game i disliked.

Only one way in/out of the place, too. Which the map doesn't help u find. Tremendously ****ty 'level' design.

Speaking of Borderlands how many of you are aware that they borrowed (ripped off) the whole art direction from codehunters a animation short. The opening scene with the bus is nearly ripped shot for shot.

Keen to play the second one as I really enjoyed the first one but I'll likely wait for the GOTYE.

Its quite good...decent area, and a fun story. Includes 2 ludicrous bosses though that make getting 2 of the 3 achievements stupidly hard.

hyperius is easy with baby maker, master gee on the other hand is all about kiting and healing since he destroys himself.

but yeah the dlc is good fun and fairly lengthy if you do everything.

Yeah I've got that item buddy. The problem is that there is other gear I'd rather carry to increase survivability.

I've got half decent gear, but in TVHM half decent kit doesn't cut it. In normal mode, the stat scaling between levels is quite low and balanced. So that good weapon picked up three or four levels is still decent, I used a fire shotgun collected from Moxxi for bloody ages. This, combined with constantly adding to and boosting skills means a rarity of blue or purple drops doesn't notice as much. In TVHM, especially between levels 40 to 50, the stat scaling goes mental meaning weapons quickly become obsolete. It's a much more loot centric mode and yet you'll have sessions where the lack of loot seems bizarre. Especially against bosses, the one enemy that should yield a few decent items as a reward for persistence can instead provide absolutely nothing of use.

In BL1, beating a boss often resulted in a shower of loot, even if the weapons weren't a huge improvement there were often items that gave a small boost or were different enough to justify use. I've seen TVHM bosses in BL2 drop a small cash stack and nothing else. It's a bizarre change after the first game and I get the feeling that an effort to make rare items more special has gone awry. Having 87 bajillion guns is no good if no-one finds them.

In the end I dusted myself off and went through the level again and levelled up, collecting a couple of better weapons along the way. The boss went down and I heading to Opportunity to get my arse kicked there!

Just joined a game and fought Gee...was easy in the end, just took AGES!!
Now I just need to fluke joining a Hyperious game to get the final achievement...might try and get a Babymaker too when I reach that part in TVHM..

Riskbreaker - I fully agree, funnily enough I found the same with that Moxxi shotgun and I'm now struggling on playthrough 2 as my weapons just seem too weak for the enemies I'm facing, I haven't had a decent sniper rifle in a while. I'm also disappointed that as you say when killing a boss I expect some decent loot but that doesn't seem the case at all, a lot of my current good weapons were ones I just found lying around.

Most of my good stuff has come from the gold chest or Moxxi... maybe that's a fundamental issue with the loot in the game. It's gone perhaps too far into the rare territory to get good items compared to B1. I've found two Orange items so far (not including mission rewards) and both while playing as my Mechromancer (only up to level 11 so far). One is the Lobbed Bee grenade which is frankly insane, but I'm grateful to have it! Even in co-op with two or three players, I rarely find anything better than blue. Don't think any of my purple items have been found or bought from machines.
Lie with passion and be forever damned...

Yeah it's strange the way the game comes across as quite stingy with drops. I've been fortunate enough with my last couple of levels (46 and 47) that I've found a few weapons to match my level. Beat
last night and he spewed forth items the same as normal mode, amongst which were a few good weapons to keep me going. Amongst which was a purple Jacob's at 2 x 11000 per hit, by comparison the green Jacob's I was wielding was 7-7.5k per hit. Just a little bit of difference then.

All I can say is keep plugging away at it, you'll get a break through eventually, it just takes alot longer.

Another shift code for a Golden Key, still works as of now:

Received my third legendary drop last night (PT1), this time from farming

                                the warrior

. I think I might just create a second character and have them stand still to do three things:

                                1) make the loot drops better
                                2) Increase the XP gained from killing him
                                3) Level up the characters I haven?t played with yet

Sounds like a fool proof plan eh? The only drawback is losing half the screen real estate.
