    but it was still fantastic.
Theres a way to skip that whole gondola section by flying the aircraft you start in straight through a window apparently!

Haha! I managed to defeat tartarus in Halo 2 by forcing a banshee or a ghost in there!

Anyway, that gondola bit is the best part of the game. Can't believe they made me

fly a ship through ever smaller, moving tunnels that deform in an unpredictable way

. That was so cheap and crap. Really disappointing that they did that. Nearly done now I imagine.

Finished this last night. Pretty good FPS. Nothing amazing but then most recent FPSs haven't been that great. 7/10

          1/10

Got a power cut so lost 2 hours of play. Can't believe this doesn't have a checkpoint save and a formal save. Pretty lost an entire mission.

          Worst game ever.

If you havent completed the game dont click! It shows how to skip pretty much 90% of Level 6 - Shutdown.

I lost most of a chapter because I didn't save & quit. Someone on another forum responded to my whinge with

Six games in and people are still making the same mistake
My response was that six games in and the developers are still making the same mistake. It's 2012 FFS.

Cheeky! I was wondering if that was possible.

                  It appears that the
that the old woman gave me (she might have been a forerunner, I got confused) was the ability to withstand a

                  nuclear explosion at ground zero

. Or did I misunderstand what happened at the end of the game?

                    The upgrade the

                    librarian

gave you was to stop the

composer working on you, it changed the chiefs genetic makeup to stop him being digitised

                    . It was cortana that

teleported the chief out of requiem away from the bomb

Completed on Legendary. As discussed with FSW it felt very stealthy, moving out of cover, picking off what I could and then charging in with splattershot or similar when availble. I liked it. It felt pretty fresh (I've not played since Halo2).

Great sense of scale on the environments and scenery you want to stop and look at.

Story was a bit lame but not as bad I was expecting based on comments here.

                        Cortana looked hot.

                        Vehicles were cool.

I played the first level of Spartan Ops last night, but after playing the campaign, I'm finding it pretty boring. I played a later Ops level with friends last week which was more fun, but there were playing on Normal so it was a whitewash. Lamers.

Overall very glad I took the plunge on this instead of Blops.

Played a little MP and the old skills are definitely dead Need to practice more, but went back to BF3 at lunch today after a couple of months off and immediately had loads of fun.

Legendary is always the best way to experience Halo. tactical shooting and overcoming strong enemy AI is what separates it from the run & gun action of the Call of Duties.

i am currently stuck on Infinity - the Promethean Knight prove to be stubbornly bullet resistant

but as pointed out earlier the AI is hit and miss in Halo 4. i have experienced situations where Elites don't even react to direct head shots and just stood there motionless until going down. same goes for enemies occupying mobile cannons and guns emplacements. they don't bother taking one shot after the other until going down... and i am talking Legendary difficulty here. that's something i don't remember from any other previous Halo.

I've only ever seen that when they are really far away, either way it's not normal. I'd suspect it was a bug.

Also bear in mind many bits can be easier by literally running past enemies to the next section.
I was just getting my arse handed to me in the first section. Jaysus.

That's not even random. From my playtime it's based entirely on their distance from you. Get far enough away and you can just headshot them repeatedly til they die. They will not move. I also do not remember this happening in 1 or 2.
