Not sure quite what the criteria is for the Tortimer visit but, yes, the island opened up for me earlier and I took a quick (and costly) trip there. Picked up some lychees and coconuts and played a little hide and seek game. The highlight was the song sung by the captain in the journey there.

Apparently, if you plant flowers on dirt patches (and water them) you can turn it back to lovely grass.

I accidentally sprinted through some flowers and they were trampled back to grass, I think.
