Played this a bit more, but on our old matsui 21 inch crt tv, & my god it looks beautiful compared to the 32 inch Sony LED of mine. Wish i could get my hands on a bigger crt. Forgot just how much better games look on them. Whats the next best option now that crt is dead?

I recieved the vita version yesterday morning, playing it now on a night shift.Im enjoying it,it plays better than the early videos portrayed. Its not going to be a system seller but as a FPS on the vita I'm happy with it but don't expect a fully blown console experience

Footsteps are low but voices are done better this time with callouts being loud, clear and easy to track to the source

Played a few hours on ps3, and really enjoyed it. Maps are varied and a good size, lots of hidey holes but also rather symmetrical so not impossible to navigate. Love Yemen and Plaza in particular, which couldn't be more different. Select 10 is a neat system, and the scorestreak system is a welcome improvement too I think. You don't seem to get just one cockroach-reflexed teen dominating the map anymore with streak after streak. Also I like the whole near-future military tech thing, some of which are quite slapstick and silly. Game puts me in mind of sci-fi sections of Timesplitters 2, overall, except with a lot of over-serious shouty men, which makes it quite amusing. Handsome Hudson's combover cracks me up, as does Angola's answer to Brian Blessed. It's like Carry On Up The Call of Duty.

"But you promised, when Mom died!"
"This is for uncle Frank, son."

          LOL!!!

Played about 12 MP matches, with only one minor instance of lag, so that was reassuring - or maybe I was lucky.

Slightly miffed at myself for buying this yesterday - I was perfectly content with Dark Souls and the blinking Wii-U is a couple of weeks off...But there was that many people clutching a copy in town yesterday that before I knew it I'd caved...

Happily then, I'm quite enjoying the single player so far. I'm surprised at how far they've taken the futuristic side, in that it actually shows in the environment design, and it isn't just slightly sci-fi weaponry and tech. Now I'm accustomed to it though , I wish they'd have taken the sci-fi a bit further and shed a few more of CoD's hallmarks. In general though, there's quite a bit more creativity in the set-pieces and settings, and it has a bit more of a soul I think, especially over MW3. S'good fun too, though a bit of a cakewalk so far

There's a frightful amount of point-blank, hyper morbid incidental deaths, isn't there. I'm not a prude or nuthin', but they're frequent enough to be ever so slightly depressing. I'll be glad to play some sunshiney stuff on't Wii-U in a coupla weeks.

Regarding the graphic close up deaths I like my gore in fact I think cannibal holocaust is a classic of its genre, but even I flinched at the machete death early on. Maybe I'm getting soft in old age?

As an aside, how good is the wing suit! Shame they didn't give us a little more control over it kinda like a big balls version of pilot wings. The MP On the Xbox is about as balanced as COD has been for years. Rarely frustrating (except for the footsteps) and the new load out system is excellent allowing a set up for every occasion. The maps aren't immediately brilliant but the geography has changed the headless chicken tactics of MW3 which is very welcome.

All in all I'm quietly impressed with this, far superior to infinity wards last offering.

Really enjoying this on 360, (footsteps aside) the game now is more about guns rather than the constant Helicopters, AC130's etc of MW2 and 3. It seems to be designed for running and gunning or, camping? and, far far fewer of the 51 kills and no deaths merchants. So overall I pretty pleased, with one BUT, there is still a few too many I am dead, he sees me shoots before me deaths due to the usual lag thingy...

Tried for an hr to connect & play online on my 360 & the Blk Ops server hasnt been available. WHAT IS THE F**KING POINT OF RELEASING A GAME & NOT SORTING OUT THE SERVER ISSUES ALREADY?

I've got hardly any time today to sit down & get to grips with it & this is the ****e thats already happening? Jesus, we had issues with Blk Ops but only after the Xmas influx hit, but its been less than 2 days & its down already? FFS!!!

Sounds like the same trade off as with BO1, PS3 gets lower res but works a treat

Picture is clearer/sharper, not so washed out looking.

                          Fair enough.

I prefer plasma to LCD but my LCD tech is a few years out of date now.

                          HD CRT?

Anyone know what's up with the 'Elite' stat-tracking feature/thing, which is meant to be available for download from an in-game menu? Doesn't work for me (PS3 version). I'm curious to get it to analyze my utterly woeful mini-sesh this afternoon ...

PS3 servers been down since 2am for me, wasn't much being said at that stage but seems that increasingly large numbers of people are being affected.

                              Activision are looking into it...

Shame really as I really enjoyed the short time I had spent with the mp

the footstep thing is really turning me sour on this game, most of my deaths come in 2 categories, i just don't hear them running up by my side or behind me and hip firing me down (as the auto-lock on knife been massively toned down i find i rarely get knifed now), which really frustrates me no end, i can see awarness is perk to counter this(if it works) but its lvl 50. The other, UVA goes up and i get jumped right away while i'm trying to shoot it down.

MW3 was pretty run and gun, but this takes it to new levels. So far the trends i've seen in MP are SMG's and lots of hip firing, followed by assault rifles, and the occasional sniper. Only seen 1 person use a shotgun in last 50 odd matches i played, and couple people using the LMP's which is always my go to weapon in MW, stacking it AGOG with penetration but im getting hammered with it now, any close up fights result it them strafing me as movement speed down the sights is shockingly bad...
