I'm really not enjoying the campaign on this...just reached the strike missions and just turned it off mid level out of boredom and annoyance. The controls for them are so unintuitive.

You always knew where you were with COD....buy it cheap from supermarket and get a nice and simple corridor shooter you blast through from huge set piece to the next and enjoy every minute of then trade in for a profit at Game. In trying to complicate it they have ruined the fun imo.

Also, might just be because I have been going from Halo 4 to this and back and its no worse than usual, but the quality of the graphics seem so hard on the eyes, low res and jaggy!!

Visually this def seems to be the current engine on its last legs. Seems odd they've gone for detail again to such a level as there's some bits that seem superflouos compared to a better res

I noticed you can choose "best connection' in the settings, which definitely helped things somewhat in the match I had before. I managed to get 5 kills without dying twice. It didn't seem to hold up after that initial one, but I didn't search for the second one so perhaps people got introduced who had ****ty connections.

It hasnt helped me at all. I set best connection and then sat there in matchmaking for 2-3 minutes while it tried to find a match and then I got pitted against overseas players the same as if I just set it to normal... with the exception that normal goes through the matchmaking process about twice as fast.

Same result and same laggy matches.

I've yet to start the campaign but I'm finding the multiplayer to be an absolute snore-fest now. I've got a K/D ratio of 2.0 or around there so I'm doing well in terms of actual stats but besides that I'm just finding the majority of maps lean too far towards close-quarters combat and absolute twitch hip-firing.

As such there are very few levels where equipping a sniper rifle, LMG or Assault Rifle is actually a worthwhile loadout.

In some of the smaller levels like Hijacked I've actually taken to using the Overkill wildcard and equipping an SMG as a first weapon and a shotgun as a secondary. Been running around basically one-shotting everyone with the shotgun and then flicking between the two for the longer corridors. That seems to work wonders for the actual K/D but whole thing just feels like a fast-paced yawn fest.

Where are the levels with end to end sight lines, sniper perches, multiple levels of verticality? I think on the whole its the actual map design that is lowering the overall diversity of loadouts and playing styles. Some levels like Cargo have a couple of sweet spots but they are few and far between. Then levels like Yemen, Turbine, Aftermath have a couple of windows and vantage points but the range and angle of them still makes it a mid-range battle.

The more I play the maps the more I realise there is one stand out classic in there at all. Most are just ok and nothing more.

****ing rubber banding going on is complete ****ing ****, just a **** ton of SMG deaths tonight and every ****ing killcam had me standing like a ****ing whally while these SMG ***** circle you, while it looks like your not evening turning to aim, while in my verison of events i spun LMG to him him emptying at least 2/3 bullets in the chest gggggrrrrrrrr, just trying to persevere to lvl55 by using SMG only now, which keeps my score to a decent 2:1 most of the time and my rage lower.

2 reasons, 1) Fibre Internet and 2) I'm **** not enjoying it at
all, will be sold tomorrow for ?34 and will get it to do the story in a year when it's a fiver

It wont come up in normal rotation as its in a playlist all of its own. There is basically a 24/7 nuketown playlist, probably because its a pre-order bonus.

I think this game is rather crap myself and nothing that hasn't been seen or done a million times better , after the sheer delights of Halo 4 and AC III this is rather limp

I'm really enjoying it. Don't quite get the criticism about everyone favouring SMGs (yes there are more of these, but there always have been), and I'm getting picked off by snipers and shotties quite regularly. Haven't seen many LMGs, though, that's true, but why would you? They weigh a ton and take half a match to re-load. Maybe I'm enjoying it because I've been dabbling in the 'objective' modes for the first time, having always been fixated on team deathmatch. Needless to say the arse has fallen out of my k/d ratio but who gives a **** really? Headquarters is a grin (love using the 'guardian' microwave thing to cook the enemy to death!). I also love the maps and think the combination of scale and complexity and variety makes them the best I've seen in a CoD, especially for some reason the posh house/resort/yacht ones. Nothing like having a firefight in a cheesy disco! The more I think about the absurdity of what's being offered - microwave weapons, hand-launched homing rocket-planes, remote controlled mini-choppers and cars - the more I think this is Timesplitter 4 in disguise. Which is good.

Not tried the MP yet, but I'm still quite enjoying SP. There was one moment of absolute dross where, as in all CoD games, the player absolutely needs to see just how evil the villain of the piece is. Mega lame, but the level on colossus was my favourite so far, a bit Timesplitters-ey as Golgo says.

Tranzit though...jesus. Do I need to have played previous COD Zombie affairs for this to make sense? Me an't lass played a bit last night and it was just confusing and properly weird. What's the actual goal? It took us three attempts to realise those gun shaped neon signs are where you buy weapons from, straight out of the wall. Why does the bus just seem to amble aimlessly at 5 miles an hour? It's so weird to jump into after playing regular CoD and isn't clicking at all for me so far.

I need to get more into objective modes than TDM, a quick go on Domination last night highlighted how much of a different beast this is to MW3

Not having a good time with this right now. Games dropping out all the time or the server not connecting. I dont have time to waste TRYING to get a game.

Maps are already becoming a bit hohum. Like has been said thyre like mazes & you get capped from everywhere.

Maybe I'm just getting old & bored of all of this, but I just havent got the patience.

....& next time Trey can we go back a previous historical war please? All this modern & future stuff has become tiresome, what with MW4 out next yr too
