The devs have admitted they are really hard pushed to get results on WiiU. Working with the cpu is "a real challenge".

We are talking about games made for consoles which literally came out years ago. Its not a hard concept to grasp buddy.

There should be no struggle this is 2012 and the outlay is ?300.

This seriously needs to stop now, because its like certain people are taking this as a personal snipe at their new best friend. Thats not the case, i have nothing against it.....i just dont want to pay that much for a virtual dinosaur. Suggesting that we should expect no progress and other such nonesense is absurd and pointless.

Now i see why the neo-geo X is going down so well here......:OOOO

That last line was jokes btw.

You want better graphics than the Wii U is capable of. Solution: Don't buy a Wii U. It's clearly not the console for you, we get it.

Would it be possible to get back to impressions of the Wii U and keep the endless bickering in the Headlines thread?

Exactly, they were games made for different hardware.... And they are rushed ports forced out for the consoles realise date, no one should expect them to be perfect, yet they are actually really good ports. Which is impressive.

It's your negativity that needs to seriously stop. You don't even have the console and you haven't played those games. you just don't really know what you're talking about.

I don't get why you don't think it's worth the money

As a tablet it's quite cheap amongst other tablets and for ?310 you are getting a lot for your money

Feck me some people dropped $30,000 on a 20 year old game over at neo forums and some 20 year consoles sell for a similar price

It might be revised GameCube technology but its now on a tablet so it is moving forward and Nintendo seem to be the pioneers in modern video gaming albeit they aim for fun over graphics and other companies sniggered when they released the wii and now look they are all trying to get in on it

Now I don't have one and after seeing it I might wait a little and see what happens like later revisions or downloads that make battery life better etc

It's also worth pointing out that "power" is not everything. The PS3 is technically more powerful than the 360 but that hasn't stopped it from receiving inferior versions of games over the years. Anyone who thinks the WiiU will disappoint because of its "power" knows absolubtley nothing about gaming.

Just played 30 minutes of CoD. "Online" but only me versus 11 bots. Proper good fun. Switched between TV and GamePad which was amazing!!

Also tried out the Pro Controller and its lovely!

I like MP CoD but not against annoying "allIplayisCoD" so using the bots is a decent compromise.

I like that I'll be able to team up with my Bro and we can take on 10 bots like some badass action movie duo.

This console is just brilliant! Oh noes, it isn't the most bleeding edge tech ever created. Oh noes, it doesn't run at 50 billion mega-duper-flops and push 100 gajillion polygons all lit individually which all react differently when hit with your wang.

Who gives a toss?! It's fun.

EDIT: Is it possible to create an "I don't own this console (can be any different console) but I'm going to slate it thread"? That way this can become a "I actually own one and want to discuss it" thread.

I have used the WiiU to play the mario ghost chase game, and have read many reports from trusted sites about the quality of the ports, along with comments directly from devs about the difficulties producing results on the machine thanks to the really weak cpu. No i obviously don't own one, but i' not inventing these inherent weaknesses, simply stating that i expect more from something 6 years in the making with a premium price.

Even though i havent tried ports on it for myself, this is 2012 mate...the internet keeps people well and truly informed.

Anyway my point has been made ages ago.

Dont blame me for replying to a bunch of over sensitive WiiU owners. I havent attacked it, only justified my harmless opinion.

I will stop my side of the debate because i respect that its new, and people are enjoying it. Fair play.

                          Nothing civilised about unwarranted negativity.

And no matter how you put it, saying things like "This machine that I don't have isn't powerful enough to play games that I haven't played" is unwarranted negativity.

if you can honestly go out and buy one, or at least use one for an extended amount of time and then come back and still have negative comments then you will be worth listening too.

i have to agree with you Alex,

im really enjoying my wii u, its got a very charming way about it in the miiverse and the wara wara plaza. im not bothered if the graphics dont match the potential of any unreleased consoles - i may or may not buy them too in the future depending on my wallet how i feel at the time, but as yet people are discussing theoretically about consoles we have no information on as though it is fact. regarding wii u, at this moment, as with any launch games for a new machine we are not seeing the machine at full pelt with all power being eked out of it by developers with years of experience on the machine - it took a few years before uncharted appeared on ps3 for example - so I'm more than happy with the games I have and how it performs now, and Zombiu is a great example of how the gamepad makes a difference and adds to gameplay. And then we have nintendo games in HD - which is reason enough for me. (although yes others have dolphin but i don't, so im more than content with nintendo hd games on the wii u). Theres a few niggles mind, specifically the handling of wii VC games but i fully expect that to be solved with an update in the future, but if it isn't, then im not any worse off then i have been for the last 6 years. im not going to pour bile about it onto an internet forum.

its a games console, one of a range available, with other new ones on the horizon. buy it or don't. wait for one the new playstation or xbox and buy that or don't. accept the wii u for what it is because its hardware wont change, and if it really matters to people that the processor is blah or blah then they can buy something else or save their money.

meanwhile im enjoying nintendoland with my wife and mother in law and not one of us have questioned what processor speed it has because we're too busy playing on it and enjoying ourselves! as for 3rd party games, i have AC3 and BLOPS2 and again am happy with what the gamepad brings and the off tv play is great when you have to share the living room tv with someone. these benefits outweigh the "ps3 and xbox are better graphically and are older" argument for me.

i could quite easily get rid of the xbox because of all the ads in its interface (and i would if it wasnt for the xbla games i bought), and to me the wii u just feels more "game" oriented in its approach to getting people talking about games in the miiverse and showing comments in the plaza. its not thrusting inappropriate and irrelevant ads at you. it wants you to join in, enjoy playing and communicating with people.

so yeah, no regrets for me - although i am aware enough to know its not perfect and could have been more but accepting it for what it is i think wii u has a lot going for it and a real quirkiness too.

Its my opinion, my own gaming expense, price negativity is warranted if i feel it is.

Simple as that, you dont decide **** lad.

Well despite you're predictable condescending nature I respect that you don't want to buy one. Personally I feel you're wrong and it is in no way over priced, but then people always will have vastly different opinions on what is over priced and what isn't.

However many of your other comments simply don't appear valid to me, as I don't feel that you have spent enough time with the machine to judge. A game on Mario Chase will not sell a WiiU to anyone... In fact it took me a few hours of playing nintendoland till I realised just what a good game it is, but alone it would still not sell me the system.

As a whole however, the system is brilliant. It's simply a Joy to use.
