It's the same in Bayo, with the Moon Of Chicken Malaa Kahumbaba Masala (not actual spelling). You can block attacks by tapping the direction of the incoming (which most people reckon to be parries) but you really want to aim for the 'just defends' which will trigger 9secs of Witch Time (true parrying).

Just beat Monsoon. Took a fair few attempts because I wasn't sure what to do immediately but I think I could take him down without much trouble now. Also upgraded most of my stuff apart from buying new weapons and Raiden vanity. The introduction for Monsoon made me laugh pretty hard, that music that starts playing is hilarious. Either way I've grasped blocking/parries from any direction now, although they're probably not "TRUE" parries. Still on normal while I get familiar with the controls. One thing that does annoy me is the stun thumbstick spin mechanic, it's just annoying. My fault for getting hurt I guess.

Really enjoying it regardless of how cheesy it is.

You can't true parry certain boss attacks anyway, so it's best to spam block. Such as when tackling Monsoon's combos.

True parries take the incoming damage, multiply it, and then return it. You can take Mistral down to 30% from 100% with one single true parry on Revengeance Mode.

Quick question (that I hope hasn't already been asked...) - is this better on 360 or PS3? Is there any noticeable difference?

It's a weird choice as usually I'd go for PS3 being a Metal Gear game, but being a Platinum game I'd go 360!

Plays like a dream on PS3.

Just go with whatever pad you'd prefer to use, from the comparisons I've read the PS3 has better looking cutscenes while the 360 has on average a slightly higher/stable framerate - not that the PS3 framerate is in any way bad.

Beat Sundowner just now. Think I fought the fight wrong as I simply stopped hitting him when he made his explosive wall and started slashing him from behind until he was dead. Doesn't matter now though I guess. Chapter 5 was very short. Think I'll be done soon.

I hope everyone noticed that the music during the Japanese Garden section was from Ganbare Goemon

Didn't know that. Too busy trying not to get seen by those bloody gorillas.

Ugh, this Armstrong dude is doing my head in.

I'm having no luck when he chucks stuff at me because I'm unable to cut it properly.

Having a break for now because I'm so frustrated at it.

I don't suppose I can aim my blade and hit square or triangle to slash at all? Flicking the thumbstick just isn't working.

You don't have to flick the thumbsticks, you can hold and aim then slash, but I think I just aimed and used the face buttons if I recall

If you find that you're running out of time on that section make sure you pre-equip the electrolyte packs. That way if your blade mode runs out it will automatically replenish. That's what I did for Revengeance mode.

Also, they can be avoided with the ninja run, but you then lose the chance for 20-30% damage...

Really enjoying the Jetstream DLC. Initially got my ass handed to me but then learned how Sam plays.

He stops dead when attacking from ninja run and is slower all round. He does have a double jump and starts with evade unlocked. The first VR mission has you fighting Gekkos and I found the best way to deal with them was to double jump, charge my heavy attack in the air then slam down on them, land and then evade.

Not sure how big the DLC is. It is 800 moon points and you start in the Denver sewers which look exactly like the Mexican sewers in Raiden's campaign. The download is a gig but a load of that goes to the pre-rendered cutscenes. Hopefully there are some new environments.

I have VR mission 1 and 3 unlocked, but not 2. Must of missed one of the computer thingies? Will it ever get unlocked, or am I screwed? Any chapter select or boss modes to unlock later?
