Yeah, the glowing red 'hands' attached to the green arms (cutting point) are what you really want. There are 30 in total. They are super-highlighted and cannot be missed, if you mess up the slice you should pause the game and then restart from the last check point. Also, the AR scanner picks them up as well so make sure to scan an entire area before you kick off.

Cutting normal arms, legs, heads nets you a 100BP bonus for each limb. That's it.

Perfect Parry an enemy attack (flashing red warm-up) with a full FC gauge to initiate the finisher. In some cases you will need to dish out some damage to the heavier enemy types. You can upgrade your blades to absorb energy to make sure you are topped up all the time.

Flashing yellow warm-ups are unblockables/unparryables and must be evaded.

I've not tested this yet. But I do notice that you can chain stealth kills together for large BP bonus, as well as a thumbs up from someone over codec. I think once you begin in stealth you have to continue like that, there's no switching off and reverting to standard combat as that wrecks the chain.

Those who are going for the 'Naked and Unloved' title, which requires you to beat Hard mode with NO upgrades to health and fuel cells. That includes not picking up any from the blue chests. If you do it auto-saves straightaway so you're borked on that. Means that quite a few might need to start a fresh save (unless Platinum Inc patch it) so you can de-activate it from the customise screen.

Though the criteria doesn't state various weapon/ wig upgrades that can't be used. So it's safe to assume that's ok.

You can unequip skill upgrades on the customise screen, can you not do that with the fuel cells etc?

Just finished it on Normal, that last boss was a bit tiresome.

Which I suppose should be a warning to the people that wanna blast through in one playing, it took me less than 4 hours to play the story mode. So if you have no intention of going back for more, you may consider this a poor investment.

          Nope.
Once purchased (or collected) they stay on your character.

This is ****ing awesome. You're both nuts.

You can cancel evades into parries and then escape with blade mode cancelling. The fight against the last boss will indirectly teach you all of this eventually. There will be no other way to S-rank revengeance mode if these elements weren't there. Blade mode cancelling is everywhere.

After you've rinsed a section a few times there's no need for lock on. Lock these enemies down with CC instead of the other way around.

Try playing on Hard, there's no brain work to Normal.

edit: last boss down. Now very hard.

edit 2: lol this is nuts!!1
By "hardly any game here" I meant there's a ten minute cutscene for every 45 seconds of gameplay.

              In a Metal Gear Game?
              NO **** SHERLOCK!
You better go into all the MGS first play threads and go state the bleeding obvious just in case nobody has spotted that.

Anyway, apart from the end, I thought there was barely anything in the way of cutscenes.
I didn't realise til the mission before last that there was even a codec.

Yeah, there are also several health bar extensions found in chests which take the total up to 200%.

Hard mode with no upgrades or health paste... That could take a while. Actually, it sounds like a nice warm up for the Revengeance Mode S rank one.

He's more than a bit tiresome, spending more time trying to defeat him than the entire game. Wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't the OT events... I just can't seem to get the timing right... sign

One accepts endless exposition in an already snail-paced Kojima-developed MG stealth game, but as this is an action spin-off by the genre's ultimate high-kinetic masters, the interruptions are all the more noticeable and jarring. So: I agree with rmoxon on how that feels, odd time dilation...

Anyway how can you not know there was a codec until the end? It chirrups and erupts into your FOV every few minutes throughout with someone offering an observation on this or that or the other.

Is there an upgrade for a double jump at some point? There have been a couple of items in tricky areas that seem out of reach without more jump power. Either that or I'm missing an obvious path that needs ninja running.

I think because it doesn't ask you to answer them, I never realised that I could. Even though I did in the demo. I was waiting between levels before I customised myself too. Doh

I never got the option for a double jump, but I've seen a few areas like that, even one that had a box art the top. I couldn't work out how to get ther.

                            Revengeance Mode.

... and my Xbox slim sounds like it's about to die. Great.

The Grey Fox Costume and Fox blade make me do a sex wee.
How do you unlock the fox blade?
I've got a code for Grey Fox from Zavvi, does that unlock it?
