Completed last night, 100% and two achievements popped at the end credits.

Still... No competition bow parts found even though I fast travelled back to different locations to search around. There is literally no salvage left on the map, only the usual 5-6 guards in places like Shantytown and the Shipwreck. In the end I gave up looking and I guess this is most definitely a glitch/bug.

To be specific I was missing the stabiliser weight, penetrating arrows and explosive arrows that change the compound bow Jonah gives you into the final competition bow. Seems it should have unlocked the parts for it but didn't. I also encountered that massive glitch on the Endurance where you first get the rope ascender. This is where you pull the crate to fall through the floor plate, except it doesn't happen and the plate stays there. That means you have to glitch through the panel to continue.

I'm wondering if the two are somehow related?? Anyway, great game and decent enough ending. Liked the little nod to Lara of old in the final moments. Might actually play through again...

Yeah there are definitely signs that she's developing into the Lara we know by the end of the game.

Bit disappointed by the sounds of the new God of War game, which is a prequel but pretty much the same old character. This has proper character development, it's done really well. This is how you do a prequel.

I've played more of this, am about 40% through, but I'm still finding it a little boring

You're obviously wrong. This is the best made ever made.

I'm still waiting for Lara to rip the legs off her trousers and go back to her classic shorts + vest, I bet it don't happen

No, but 'select x2, circle, circle, square, triangle, select and R1' will make Lara nude. Just like it did in 1996.

                Wow it actually worked!

                Probably nsfw!

Really enjoying this and don't get any of the negativity which Gametrailers gave the game. It has been nothing but fun and I don't think the change from innocent English flower to pick axe murdering butcher was as bad as they made out, it really is up to how you play it.

Thing is the game never states that she was an innocent English flower, people just seem to have presumed she is. The fact is she clearly knows how to use firearms and a hunting bow and is relatively comfortable with killing cute little deer to survive even before she is forced to kill a man in self defence. It's done in an entirely believable way.

It's not like the player is playing Super Princess Peach part 2 and she suddenly pulls out a machine gun and starts mowing down goombas is it?

Wow Lara nude, should keep the 13 year olds happy, seriously who cares, im sure theres real women in the world, or the net is full of porn if needs must. Never understood the fascination with pixelated porn.

Been playing this quite a bit last few nights just want to know should I be backtracking to clear up areas or dose the game naturally take you back through areas or give you the option to explore later on.

Once you finish it you can go back to all the areas apart from the last section.

So far though I have not seen any bad guys at all so if you are looking to mop up cheevs (that involve killing people) too you need to clear them off before the final section.

Completed the game today and throughly enjoyed it.

It's up their with Uncharted 2 for pure spectacle and in some areas, such as the graphics, it simply outclasses it. No other game has managed to ape Naughty Dogs masterpiece since its release so Crystal Dynamics deserves respect for pulling it off with such style. However, there are some areas where the game falls short on or does not stand out as unique enough.

As a life long fan of the good Tomb Raider games, it's a shame to see the lonely atmosphere of the originals sacrificed along with the adventure style of exploration. Yes the new Tomb Raider does have Tombs and puzzles, but I adored the originals pace where you came into an area, explored for exits and dead ends, eventually coming across a grand puzzle to work out. I know this can only be taken so far before it becomes boring, but so few games value quietness and exploration over gun battles and hand holding. Something this game applies too liberally.

And on the subject of the story,

I thought it was well handled and loved the ending where Lara lements not believing her farther and now having so many unanswered questions about his past and what he discovered. That tied Lara's old games in beautifully and gave her an extra layer that was never explored too well in past games. The last shot on the boat with Lara saying "I'm not going home" gave me goosebumps.

Despite the issues with the change of style in gameplay I thought this game was a real success. The most fun 3rd person combat I've experienced for years, the best graphics I've ever seen all wrapped up in a survival style of gameplay that only Metal Gear Solid 3 has attempted, this was a real thrill ride of a game. If Crystal Dynamics can bring back some of the exploration and freedom in the next title, we'll have one of the best Tomb Raiders ever made.

Id love to see some underwater level areas in future DLC, tomb raider the classics always had great underwater interaction, especially tomb raider 2 the whole oil rig/sunken ship. Used to love that as a kid.

Very true, the swimming in Tomb Raider was wonderful but very tense when you had a ticking clock!

Tomb Raider Underworld had a wonderful swimming mechanic in some levels, where Lara had diving gear so you could explore the ocean you were in at your own pace.
